  1. Something needs done w/ the mobile format if possible. It's glitchy. Once you hit the button to check out your notifications (quotes and private messages) You have no way of getting out of that slide out side bar. Besides navigating to the website all over. Also mobile seems to be missing the "mark site as read" feature. Outside of work I only post and view the forum from my phone except for some very rare times.
  2. Paint is: Body - Tamiya Titanium Gold, Tamiya Racing white for firewall Interior - Tamiya Pure white, Tamiya Titanium Gold for accents, covered in flat clear. Chassis underside flat black with titanium gold overspray Non kit stock parts include: M.A.D. Modelling distributor Intake manifold/carbs donated from Pete Ramirez (Flatout) parts box steering wheel Some of the running board detail was washed out by my old bottle of testors flat white . The taillights and the shifter were driving me crazy trying to get glued on. Neither would stay put. Let me know what you think, and enjoy!
  3. So last night I was determined to finish this thing. I was upset that the interior didnt turn out how I imaged it would be, but I guess metallic spray paints are a little thinner than solid colors. In turn, the gold tuck in roll is a little on the sloppy side. I painted the pedals black and did a sort of cross hatching on the gas pedal with some chrome silver model master paint. Then hit it all with flat clear. Went ahead and glued the bumpers on and the spreader bar up front Body was just on to keep it from being smacked around while moving things on the bench. I also glued the hubcaps on after detailing the lettering. more shots of the body now permanently in place with the interior and the chrome tie downs on the body behind the seat. Still missing a few details here Next pictures will be under glass!
  4. Finished this thing tonight. Interior didn't turn out as nice as I'd hoped it would but it was tough to do for me. I had a few issues getting things to stay put while gluing them but I eventually won the battle. Will post the remaining progress pics tomorrow and start an under glass thread.
  5. I also have apparently attached the roof too early on one of my projects. Whoops.
  6. I love the 30 Model A ford kits... so much hot rod potential
  7. Not sure if there's much difference but I've let parts and bodies soak in purple power for over 2 weeks with no issues.
  8. As of last night the chassis is complete. That is the final stance. Back tires stick out just a touch and just barely kiss the fenders. I did everything I could short of narrowing the axle to get them to sit in the fender, but it looks good enough. Also got the front suspension finished as well. Low detail and paint under here. Didnt want a hot rod that didnt see any road time ya know! Steering wheel painted body color and detailed w/ Model Masters chrome silver. I have no idea what kind of Ford that steering wheel is out of. I tried googling all years of fords from the 30's to the 60's and couldnt find a match. So this is the final stance with the firewall glued into the body, and the body and grill just on for test fitting purposes to check firewall to distributor clearance Now I just have to get my interior bucket done. Tamiya pure white is mega thin and runs like crazy.
  9. It's perfect. Absolutely perfect!
  10. I'm guessing from the trucks, that the first truck was an early 50's shop truck that was kept around but showing its age, and the 50's truck is a mid 60's shop truck. I like what you're doing.
  11. WOW! Shane... what a grand slam this thing is!!! I'm in love. The sleeves w/ stock wheels is a genius idea! The color is also outstanding... very good work man
  12. That pretty much seals the deal then. It's definitely not fast acting, and most definitely thicker than it used to be. Time to hit the hobby shop... and try not to come out with a model kit lol
  13. I feel like my green label bottle of Zap hasnt been performing as well lately. Usually it is almost instantaneous... especially on my fingers... and the past few days it seems lacking. I had to actually use clothes pins to hold my parts in place... which I never had to do before. So, just curious if the stuff goes "bad" after a while... thanks
  14. Beautiful!! Saw this one on facebook as well. Probably the best I've ever seen anyone do with this kit! Just gorgeous!
  15. Glad to see you back at it again! I saw some of your updates on the facebook groups. Such great work!
  16. Taken with the appropriate photo filters too I see, very nice. I have an AMT military jeep that has a rat rod fate eventually.
  17. The chassis is almost complete. Have to install the steering components after the axles stay put. Super glue wasn't being so super last night. Anyone know if the green label zap-a-gap has a shelf life? Seems like it wasnt working very well the past few days. I also got the body parts clearcoated too but didnt take any pictures.
  18. Got the new paint on it. A few small imperfections in it. It was very humid when I painted it, so I have a little dust in it. Also added a few of the decals that came in the kit. I also wired up the smallblock chevy and with the intake setup I got from a generous member here. Looks good down in it. Used a M.A.D. distributor in it as well. And a mock up shot just because. I'm really liking this thing. Just can't decide on what color to paint the interior and running boards. I'm thinking flat white for the interior with body color inserts since its tuck n roll interior. And flat white running boards... but I can't decide.
  19. Wish I would have had time to snap a picture, but this morning on the way to work, I saw 2001 Mustang Bullitt edition with fat/skinny tires on it... Guy musta been driving it to work to take it to the drag strip later today for test n tune. Looked tough for sure.
  20. A BIG thank you to Pete aka Flatout, who generously sent me a triple carb setup for my '32 Roadster I'm working on out of the kindness of his own heart without hesitation and asked for nothing in return. Thank you sir! and Aloha!
  21. I love the idea. Great work so far. I'd go with the round tips, just angle them back just a touch. Sorta like an airplane engine.
  22. Looks good to me! I have a couple of these kits still yet to build. I always liked this kit for some reason.
  23. Dang.. wish I knew this a few weeks ago. I tried to put some decals on a car I was building and they just fell apart when I put them in the water.
  24. Looks great! I just got a reissue of this kit... can't wait to build it
  25. Someone posted these a while back... can't remember who though.. but yeah... they're different for sure
