  1. Next time my neighbor takes out his McClusky coupe I will bring a tape measure.
  2. One body out of the paint booth.
  3. Looks like some gems among a whole lot of NASCAR stuff. You will have to go really low price wise to unload a lot of this if you expect a quick turnaround. As you know most people that collect certain makes already own most of what is available and do not really need that third or forth or fifth Earnhardt or Gordon stock car. Good luck.
  4. Several of the MAMA's boys will be there.
  5. I use my IPad 90% of the time and phone and pc the other 10%. I only use a camera if I am going to take a lot of pictures.
  6. Got some primer on the body. Next step is to test fit the AMT modified chassis and adjust as necessary.
  7. It is great these models were saved. If I were a resin caster I would probably be drooling at the chance to make copies of these works of art. I can only JC cannot help himself and he starts to work on recreating these on his own. :-)
  8. been there done that and it was with a new kit that was just bad.
  9. Yes, chrome for the Boss or any non Mach1 or Sprint for 71/72. All the 73 front bumpers were larger and body color.
  10. What would you not do? Go, sell, enter, talk to people? Very nice models by the way.
  11. Nice job restoring what was a really rough start. I would have probably chopped up the 66 coupe kit and converted it.
  12. Thanks everyone for the info and additional pictures.
  13. Missing link grille all painted pretty.
  14. I saw pictures of three cobras in progress on the GSL news section of the website. Anyone know who he is and are these going to available as kits or is it a personal project.
  15. I was a dumb kid and it was mostly tanks and planes. People hate Ebay but I always check the completed sales to get an idea of what a kit is worth. Then I see people asking 2-3 times for the same kit and I have to wonder do they think some sucker will eventually buy it - perhaps so but I guess they must be really patient.
  16. Like you said - outrageous prices. Someone is going to inherit a whole lot of old kits someday and they will be auctioned off and we will know what they are really worth. I guess there isn't a holy grail kit for me so I do not understand the desire to hand over $300 for something I blew up with firecrackers as a kid.
  17. Very impressive. Most people think of a Pantera when they hear the name DeTomaso but he built some other cool cars. It reminds me of a Jensen Interceptor which there probably isn't a kit of those either.
  18. $100 profit??? Over how many decades did it take to make that much? Or did the vendor find a great deal tha no one else could. My only guess if they buy up old collections for as little as possible and then sell them for as much as possible. I am all for capitalism and supply and demand but that is a pretty slow inventory turnover.
  19. I see the same kits for sale by certain vendors year after year. Do they really want to sell them? If they were priced a little more reasonable maybe people would buy them. If they have 300 kits and sell even 20 expensive kits a show, it will take 15 shows to just sell the inventory nevermind all the expense of going to shows and paying vendor fees. I just don't get it.
  20. Build them or your kids will sell them on Ebay when you're gone.
  21. I do not buy many but good finds were an IMC J car and the AMT 68 Mustang Mach1 show car. There is no way I will pay over $100 for a $2 kit. The MPC J car was an unbuilt kit I bought many years ago.
  22. I much prefer good 1/24 or 1/25 diecast but the good brands were pretty pricey and the color choices were limited. I agree 1/18 prices has gone up a lot more than the slight increases in quality. There is also a space issue - they just take up a lot of room.
