  1. I see a ship in my passenger side mirror .? Yes -seeing out the back and the blind spots make driving it a challenge.
  2. Close up picture of 71 Mustang taillight assembly.
  3. You are 100% correct - a much better kit and would require very little mods if the 65 or 66 GT350 version was used. There is also the stock RM 65 fastback version which of course lacks most of the Shelby “racing” parts.
  4. Should be an easy search to find B production rules of the era to figure out what was allowed. The main drawbacks of the kit are the toylike chassis and that it has an almost 60 year old basic 289 engine with stock intake and exhaust manifolds. Street cars converted to a competitive production race car for that time period would have used the Hipo 289 engine, headers, larger carb, export brace, Koni shocks, larger and lighter wheels and racing tires, of course a roll cage, extra gauges, fuel cell or larger gas tank just to name a few things. Forum member AFX has made several coupes using a mix of the AMT 66 coupe which shares the majority of parts with the reborn fastback kit and the “newer” 67 Mustang GT to GT350 kit that has the far superior engine and chassis so when he chimes in he can point you into the right direction to build a replica of a specific SCCA car or just a weekend racer.
  5. Looks great and I’m guessing expensive too.
  6. This view of the DM 1/24 diecast shows how the ram air system should look although the DM actuators look a little on the tall side but it’s all there including the vacuum lines to each one and the suction is fed from the line going to the intake manifold. Don’t tell anyone but I have some sets of all the plenum parts cast in resin and I’ll be test fitting those on the Revell hood as soon as I get the kit in my hands in a month or two.
  7. Ford did not offer or sell the window slats for the 71-73 sportsroof Mustangs. Any that you see are sold by aftermarket companies. The Ford 69/70 slats do not work on a 71-73. As for the ram air plenum - I thought I saw one in the test shots but I’ll watched the video and it is not a separate piece and is part of the underside of the hood. While I would have preferred a separate piece everything else looks fantastic. It could have come down to the piece may have not cleared the air cleaner or was somehow overlooked. Perhaps someone may know the story behind this. Even having the “flapper” pieces that fit into the NACA scoops with the vacuum actuators would add a little more realism but I can understand how they were overlooked. I may be tempted to swap the tires from another kit that has the Firestone or Goodyear F60-15 lettering but otherwise this kit makes any of the rehashed AMT and MPC kit look pathetic.
  8. Awesome builds. I met Tommy and Lyn this year. Great people.
  9. Nice work on the Porsche and Lyn St. James Mustang. Indycals makes a set for that version also.
  10. Yes the parts are interchangeable so the fit is not any better on either kit. When I have built the kits I have glued the front and back pieces on and after a lots of sanding and shaping I paint the entire body as one piece.
  11. Looks great. I built the same kit back in the 1990s when it came out.
  12. Looks great in gloss black and the gauges and wheels look very realistic.
  13. Would you recommend the book? It’s about $90 on Amazon.
  14. You know your Cobras for sure Gary. The posting on Facebook states the one in Boulder is CSX2155 so similar but not the same car as you built. Seems odd CSX2155 was restored with the coupe hardtop when it does not appear it was ever raced with the Lemans top.
  15. This picture popped up on Facebook. It’s the Shelby collection in Boulder CO.
  16. Very nice work on this kit you do not see built very often.
  17. He has a nice house but I bet he wishes he had a rooftop bar on it. ?This picture was taken overlooking the restaurant and bar district in old town Scottsdale.
  18. Robert Glucksman if I had to guess but I’m counting down the days until they are available to buy/order.
  19. I came across a video online of the accident and it appears there were witnesses and people alongside and in the road watching cars leave the event. Sadly this time speed and a spectator was in the road and appears to have caused the driver to swerve and lose control. My heart goes out to the friends and families of the couple that lost their lives in the accident.
  20. Just a few days ago on vacation in Arizona with my son, daughter and wife. We also stopped by to see Cobraman to check out his awesome models and diecast collection.
  21. Looking good. I had not noticed the black strip unti you pointed it out. I may have to go back and fix mine.
  22. Rode my bike past Braman exotic car dealer.
  23. Thanks for posting and keep them coming. As you mentioned before resin casting it was more difficult to modify a kit to make a unique version. JC (aka AFX) built one of the HRM kits a while back.
  24. Wow - close to 1,000 pictures if my math is right. Looked like an amazing show for the last one. I hope the museum finds a home which will be accessible to modelers around the USA and located somewhere that has other attractions to encourage more visitors.
  25. Got mine yesterday.
