  1. Great pictures and story Andy. Glad the show could be held a day early given the bad weather.
  2. Kevin Lutz was at one time so with the reissues kit coming out it make increase the interest. If not probably one of 3D casters may take advantage of the opportunity.
  3. Per Rays Decals of North America Facebook page today. If you pre-paid for your order AND all of your decals have arrived, you should have gotten a USPS Tracking email by now. 16 of the oldest orders were completed and taken to the Post Office just before they closed at 2:00 pm CST. Since I got home, I completed 13 additional orders, which will go to the Post Office first thing when they open in the morning at 8:00 am CST. Stay tuned as you will FINALLY be getting your decals. If you did NOT get an email from USPS, that means that one or more of your decals has not reached me yet. Ray is planning to pack and ship another box for me Sunday night & we hope FedEx can pick up on Monday morning. These would likely reach me on Wednesday or Thursday, and this process will start all over. There is also a chance that he may need to send one final box the following Monday. Once I get these I will quickly ship all completed pre-paid orders. Next step is pre-reserved orders. I have pulled aside all applicable decals and packaged them. I will reach out to all affected customers to finalize their order and send a PayPal Invoice. The sooner these get paid, the sooner they ship! After I complete this process, I will begin to post pictures of available decals here on the Facebook Page. I will give the same advice I always do, if you see something you want, PM ME RIGHT AWAY!!! Once folks see the actual decals they sell out quickly almost every time. Stay tuned for updates!
  4. Neither kit came with a distributor which I thought was odd but it is up against the bulkhead and I guess whoever designed the kit could not see it on the real car so they just left it out. Pretty inexcusable for a kit in that scale. Yes the kit does not have the spare tire either like the real MKII but there are some aftermarket ones you can buy as well as better seats but after buying all that you will be spending more on the extras than the kit. I bought a 3D distributor from a site I found online.
  5. Yes the Magnifer is the same as the Trumpeter kit except for the Ford branding. For a little over $100 for a 1/12 kit it is a good deal.
  6. Here is a build that was a group effort by members of Model car creations. We used a few aftermarket items and tried to make the oil and fuel lines route to the correct locations. At a minimum the Trumpeter/Magnifer kit needs a distributor and plug wires added for realism. You are right in that the kit engine is not very accurate and could be so much better.
  7. Thanks so much for the update. Hopefully the eye surgeries went well and I’m sure others are looking forward to the decal sheets as they fill a void in what is available for 1/24 Cobra models.
  8. Well there’s a 73 Mustang in the 2025 catalog but what version is still a mystery.
  9. Asking the annual question about the 427 decal sheet. I was hoping my joke about seeing them available this decade may not be far off.
  10. This is the message posted on the Facebook page of Rays Kits decals North America on 27 January. Stay tuned. This weekend Ray is doing his best interpretation of Edward Scissorhands to get an order shipped to me on Monday. I sent him a message this morning asking if he can get me an itemized list of what will be in that order, or to call and dictate the list to me. That way I can update all pre-paid customers. We will be shipping this order by FedEx International Express, which is 3-5 day delivery. When we ship on Monday morning, I usually get these by Wednesday or Thursday, but IT AIN’T CHEAP! Once I have packed and shipped all pre-paid orders, and pulled aside all reserved decals, I will post pictures here of what are left. For those of you who did not pre-pay, expect a PayPal Invoice as soon as I confirm that your decals are definitely on the way. Stay tuned for updates. Once I have a tracking number for the box, I will actively follow it on its journey & keep you guys informed. Thanks!
  11. I think the closest Ford colors would be Medium brown metallic or the 73 color Ginger metallic.
  12. I’m still stuck on seeing a Chevy engine mounted in the bare frame in the last picture.😮
  13. Very nice job restoring it. I built the same kit in the 1990s and was fortunate enough to get an extra set of the photo etch parts to replace any the get lost along the way through two moves. Cobraman was selling a complete kit a few years ago and I bought another one as these are getting hard to find and expensive. I wish there was a complete engine but the HRM kit does. ABSmiami did a very detailed build of the HRM kit as part of the 64 Sebring challenge.
  14. Found some pictures of when I was in Miami of some Cobra kit cars.
  15. Here is an interesting kit Cobra that sold a few days ago in Mesa AZ.
  16. I saw the car at some shows in Miami also. None of the original Cobras were fiberglass. The owner has gone to some lengths to make a nice replica though. I have also seen aluminum body replicas which fill the void for those that cannot afford a seven figure original.
  17. Reading the comments I guess one thing stands out. Unlike Round2 recycling old AMT and MPC kits with a lot of parts to build perhaps a drag car or road racer or street racer or Mach1 etc, the reality is those kits never had a 351C or 429CJ engine or correct exhaust system etc. As most of you know I have a soft spot for 71-73 Mustangs having owned five 72s and one 73 in the last 47 years. With aftermarket decals available the only key item missing is the “flat” hood to make a non-Boss/Mach1 version and we have seen a 73 grille is in works. I have not tried to see if various parts from the MPC/AMT kits will fit the Revell Boss/Mach1 kit but I’m sure it would not be a huge problem. Finding a suitable replacement engine for represent a 302 2bbl engine should not be too difficult either as again the aftermarket decals for various Ford engine sizes are available. Ideally Revell would make a half a dozen different variations of the Boss/Mach1 kit and I would be over the moon but I’m not going to hold my breath. I’ve built a lot of AMT/MPC 71-73 Mustangs and always had to deal with a lot of compromises and source parts from other places so if I can start with a Revell where only a little parts swapping is needed I will take that any day.
  18. The 69’s were not selling too well due to the high price. Even with the cost being more than a Mach1 or Boss they probably did not make as much as on a base model Mustang with a lot of options. Shelby was out of the picture so Ford just reassigned new VINs for the unsold cars and if you bought one back then for $5K they are worth well in excess of $100K these days in excellent condition.
  19. Nice color combo. The 69 Boss 302s did not have ram air or hood scoop as perhaps Shinoda wanted them to look different from the Mach1 or Boss 429. I wish Revell had modified the interior that they borrowed from the Shelby GT500 kit that had the factory roll bar.
  20. Looks great. Building a similar one is on my long list of Mustangs I hope to get to someday.
  21. I did not realize the older MPC 73 Mustangs have the Blue Cresent 70 Mustang parts. I’ll have to try out those parts with the Mach Won rerelease as I’d like to make a stock 1/25 1970 Mach1.
  22. I like it a lot. Really nice inside and out and the engine looks awesome.
  23. That was my view from the balcony a few nights ago. Seeing the same flames on the tv and on the balcony are something else. I’m gone from VAMach1 to FLMach1 to CAMach1 and next year will move again and be AZMach1. As others have pointed out, very sad for the residents but they whether they were duped and forgot common sense that there needed to be better preventative measure as others have mentioned has sadly come to roost. This will only make housing even more expensive but I hope for the short time I am here people realize perhaps going back to having an infrastructure and policies that will mitigate future fire damage is needed. Letting millions of urban residents with beliefs and ideologies they have been taught that are supposed to save the planet hopefully will realize for this area decades of poor decisions were made. That is a shame as this a beautiful state and the people in the areas with the multi-million dollar houses should perhaps be more concerned about whether there is enough water to put out fires around them if they decide to stay and rebuild. If nothing changes I think many will not wait around and move elsewhere and start over. I have met some great people here in just a short time and as long time residents they have seen a lot of change most of which has not been for the better.
