  1. First off, I'd like to thank Michelle for printing the kit out for me. It came out looking pretty good. We've been talking a bit and there are a few down sides to be aware of with the 3d printed kits. Most notably, the fit. I've noticed these kits are a bit thicker than normal plastic kits and it causes some fit issues for the hood and bumpers. The process of creating the 3d prints can also cause warping of the bodies or for them to be slightly off. She ran into another problem with another kit I got from her. It was too big to print all at once, so it had to be printed in two pieces. This led to some problems with fit as well. I've also noticed that they weigh quite a bit more than regular plastic models and that weight can make gluing some pieces down rather hard. The window templates also seem to be slightly larger than the windows, so also be aware of that. The last thing is the underside of the cars. The chassis lack a lot of detail and can come with different parts, or lack of parts. This one had a nicer chassis, but in two parts. They didn't go on as one would think and the exhaust that came with it may as well not have. I should have taken a pick, but the underside isn't set up flat. I had to mess with things to get the tires in the wheel wells correctly. Also, remember that there is no directions for how to put these together, so you really need to know what you're doing to get them looking right. They are very challenging, but at the same time, where are you going to find another 68 Javelin kit? SAM_2073 by Eric Lucas, on Flickr SAM_2074 by Eric Lucas, on Flickr
  2. That looks good. at some point I gotta get one of these bodies from you.
  3. I remember an old episode of My Classic Car and a guy did something similar with an old Plymouth.
  4. I saw another modeler do one in this color and decided to pick up another kit from Hobby Lobby to make my own. The front end gave me some problems with fit as did the rear suspension. Car still came out looking great though. I completed this and the Chevelle weeks ago, but with the Hurricanes and other storms; I hadn't had a chance to post the pics or even take the pictures! 5. A friend got me this for Christmas about 3yrs ago. I'd been trying to find the emblem decals ever since. I finally got them, and decided to build the kit. I wanted a stock looking car, but the kit is a drag kit. Took a bit of fabricating, but I got it to a day 2 look. This probably my best job at getting the rallys to look right. 6. Beautiful. I miss having a Chevelle. The Challenger is nice, but the Chevelle.........it's a whole different vibe.
  7. Yes, I would love a stock Cyclone for the collection.
  8. I need to eventually get one. I almost bought one of these for my first car. It didn't have a speedometer, so Dad said no. lol
