I had the old kit and it was one of the best kits I ever got. I had no complaints. -
Got this kit a couple weeks ago. It's a Monogram kit. I've been wanting a 57 for awhile now, so I thought I'd pick it up. The kit isn't too bad, but I did have some issues. The glass for the windsheild was bigger than the frame! I also had an issue with the front suspension fit. There is also a hole for a radiator hose on the engine, but no hose, nor mention of one in the directions. I also hate the lack of decals. However, I think it came out well. I found a picture of a car just like it and copied the paint scheme. I wanted a two tone interior, and I liked the paint scheme of the inspiration car.

Kinda hard to explain. For me almost all AMT models feel this way. The fit is never great, the moldings aren't great, and they always lack something you'd expect.

This was the Jenking racer kit. I wanted a stock looking car though. Lots of decals, but non for a stock version. Came out well though for a kit that felt cheap.

Amazing! -
I've got one too. I thought about restoring it, but I need the stripes. Not sure of the scale, and not sure if I want to pay to get the stripe decals. The model was in good shape, with decals, but for some reason the body wasn't painted, while the rest of the car was.

Done in 2 days Always. Don't have the money for a sprayer.

Yes, there's also another set of rims that are the wire type. Almost like you'd see on a low rider, which is weird.

Up front right? It's because I used the wrong inserts. The directions are a jumble and I already had everything glued before I added the wheels, Then got angry when they didn't fit right. The directions are basically building all three versions at once. They had the bright idea of using stars to distinguish between the variations, but the stars look similar. The directions are very confusing.

Just started mine. Kinda bummed that it didn't have the stock stripe decals.

The 300 would look killer in black. -
Not bad. I got the Eleminator version several years ago, but it wasn't a very good kit. The fit sucked and it didn't come out looking so great.
-
What make was this one? The Revelle version I got wasn't nearly this nice and did not contain the SS emblems. I think I had the Street Burner version.

Just got the kit. To answer some questions I saw. No, no back dating to the 69. Yes, it does have stock tires. There are three versions: a custom, stock, and race version. It has movable seats, a couple different shifters, and the 390 engine. The directions look like they're gonna be hard to follow. The kit also seems kinda cheap, and the detail isn't that great. There's a few decals, but surprisibgly no stock version decals; just custom and race. Stay tuned for my build. I have to work all week because of a manager being out of town for trainig, but I hope to build it within the next two weeks. Over all right now just looking at he kit I'd give it a B-.

I'll add a few of mine. The 69s were built back before I knew they were supposed to have silver grills. I think they're actually two of the first models I ever built. -
I don't know. It's what the directions said to do.
-
I used to use those too. I do like them better.

I was still in the process of putting the engine together when I took the pic. However, the fan belt is hooked up right (I think the part you're referring to is hooked up to a starter?) and the alternator is on right too, it's attatched to the belt. I guess the pic is too dark to see? The only thing not hooked up was the raiator hose, but I fixed that. I was in a rush to get the pics before work. I do need an emory board, and I used to use them a lot; I just keep forgetting to pic them up. I've been having a stressful tme lately and it's hard enough to remember what I need from the store as it is.
