  1. I have 4 different issues of this kit and they all have the same top loaders. What does the box look like?
  2. I got a few more coming. I just grabbed one from 1969 with the California Hauler on the cover.
  3. This is not a kit, but still a modeling related score. Its a model mag from 1973 with an article about the IH transtar and an article on how to detail a Diamond Reo. There is lots of cool info in the Reo article from making the front steerable to using speaker screen as an exhaust shield. I will get around to scanning the pages and posting them.
  4. You can never have too many of those Clayton
  5. Well I think if you used the slightly older Dodge Ram 2500 snap kit as a donor you can make that happen. As you know, the fenders are way too big but you could cut them out of the snap truck. It might be a challenge to make the dually fenders, but anything is possible. If you get the real dimensions, a little cutting and sectioning of the monster truck body could make it work. Good luck
  6. Just a thought, but the body on the real Raminator is probably not exact to a real Dodge ram. Its just a fiberglass shell, and could have been stretched and modified for one reason or another. I have the Rammunition kit, and the tires, rims, axles , etc seem to be spot on scale. The body of the real Raminator was not made by dodge, it was made by the Hall Bros who built the truck. The same with bigfoot and the others, those Ford bodies they are running are probably not dead on to the real thing.
  7. Very cool man. Ive often thought of doing this. What motor are you planning on using? Are you gonna go with a vertical stack, or a weed burner? This set up looks awesome. The frame length looks perfect.
  8. That was only up until a certain year( I forget) and even then there were plenty of Petes with manufacterer colored motors in trucks while others had white motors.
  9. I had contacted him a month or two ago and have been waiting for an update. I encourage any builder to get on board with this. C'mon guys!!
  10. It looks like a lowboy wheel with a trim ring put straight on the hub instead of the deep dish ring. It looks perfect. Lets see if Im right;)
  11. Great job. Very cool, very clean.
  12. Can I ask where you got the Cummins? Or all of them for that matter?
  13. . Thats the story of my life Chuck. I hate the phrase "ADD", so I just say Im scatter brained. I cant finish one thing without starting 10 others. To many ideas........not enough time. Thats a cool old DR. Thats great subject matter for a model.
  14. Ive seen some crazy things that didnt look bad, Im just having trouble picturing how the windshield and doors would have looked with the other cab in front of it. I guess Ill have to mock up a model to see how it looked.
  15. Amazing work, and excellent recreation of the original. My mind is blown.
  16. . I cant imagine that it looked good
  17. Heres a few pics of my Uncles R700. He had a Mercury on it at first but changed it for some reason. Its the coolest Mack Ive ever seen, except for Dave Mauro's old FKSW.
  18. I will definitley be using this on something in the future. Thanks Sam. This is one set-up that I have never seen.
  19. Great job Tom, Im diggin the painted lights. I think the Freightliner, more than any other brand of cabover, looks perfect cut down to this size. It might be the heavier curves, making it less of a box and more of a cab. Again, it looks great.
  20. If you can find a coil of thin solder, its your best friend. Most hardware stores have thin rolls of copper wire and things like that. Dont under estimate the modeling potential of your local hardware store. Ive sprayed zip ties bright yellow for load staps and countless other things.
  21. I turned this engine into a twin turbo on my Pete 352 cabover wrecker. I just used some bends from extra exhaust pipes from the junk box and an extra turbo. It really wasnt hard to do. You can check out the thread "on the bench".
