What if Monogram had done 1/25?
jbwelda replied to Southern Fried's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
BETA remained by far the worlds format for video tape before the entire genre got obsoleted by disks. By far. And a far FAR superior system of tape transport and playback quality than the VHS that americans (RCA?) developed to avoid paying royalties to Sony for their proprietary format. Again, the American consumer was the loser. jb -
STEVE SCOTT ,A.KA . [ UNCERTAIN T ]
jbwelda replied to bpletcher55's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Birds? I think that's Bill Wyman on the left and Charlie Watts on the right. As an aside a partial UT with a nice box, but only most of the body, no engine, no display stuff aside from the girl figure and not a whole lot else went for approx. 165$ yesterday. jb -

maybe if you told roger Harney that if he put that new nailhead in the same room with a tweedy pie chassis he would be way ahead of the game on reverse engineering the Uncertain T. sure would beat another garbage truck. who the heck buys that junk anyhow? jb -
whats this Rolling Stones truck? got a photo? wish they would license a Rolling Stones mobile recording truck like they recorded exile on main street with and many many on site recordings, even mentioned in smoke on the water deep purple, but most famous for being the recording studio for Bob Marley and the Wailers Live. I got my Tamiya Gull Wing today along with an upgrade PE set, along with another Suzuki Cappichino to use the interior (this one has roll bar and two sparco seats) on my build-in-progress. jb

>I had no interest in it back then. I have no interest in now Obviously you DO have some interest in it...or you would not be posting here. as for the checkbook, I got one ready and its full of checks. just remember, you cannot cheat an honest man. and thank you Greg for the reality of butt ugly kits. they apparently sell quite well. to someone. jb -
yeah man good on ya, someone will smile down upon you for that one day. jb

very good Ed, but you left the hardest unanswered. its all propaganda, beginning in 1st grade. you can't fool the youth when every Christmas come, you buy them a pretty toy gun. goo goo g'joob I would have voted for this guy if his propaganda included that line: https://votesmart.org/candidate/145994/michael-eggman#.VXD0cIzbLIU note that's "vote smart", or is it "votes mart"? jb jb

I have been personally assured that no baby harp seals will be clubbed to death due to this project. dead horses, maybe. as for whats so great about this kit other than its rarity, don't forget the nice buick engine and the very nice chassis and suspension. yeah the body is kinda wack but that's its charm. then there is the very-multi piece trophy, stand and woman figure along with its display base. it is not clear to me if this proposed project will include those bonus parts. bottom line: is it worth 200$? probably to most modelers, not. but is it worth 25 (or now 50) $? you bet, at least to me, even if all that materializes is smoke from that pakalolo. like they say in that commercial, one life brah, don't blow it. jb -
heres some easy ones: maybe I wanna see the wheat fields over Kiev and down to the sea... we are all outlaws in the eyes of Amerika ... and we are very proud of ourselves I smoke marijuana but I can't get behind your wars and most of what I do believe is against most of your laws I'm a fugitive from injustice but I'm going to be free cause your rules and regulations, hah they don't do a thing for me. you teach the youths about marco polo and you say he was a very great man you teach the youths about Christopher Columbus and you say he was a very great man you teach the youths about the pirate Morgan and you say he was a very great man but all these so called great man were doing was robbing and raping, kidnapping and a killing not all songs are meaningless sugar coated pap. easiest of all: yellow matter custard dripping from a dead dogs eye you become naked. jb

AMT M&H Racemaster Dragster Slicks & Parts Pack Tires
jbwelda replied to Gregg's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
he has got a point, actually, a really good point. what in the heck did his post have to do with M&H racemaster slicks other than they happen to be in a so called "parts pack"? does that mean that any mention of a "parts pack" should end up in this thread? that makes no sense whatsoever. and whoever is moving stuff around needs to sit back and pick his nose for awhile as some more gainful employment and leave peoples posts where they put them unless there is some COMPELLING reason to do otherwise. in this case his question lost all context due to being moved to this thread. really really stupid move and I would be bugged too. plus you ever try finding something less than obvious with your "seach function"? it sucks and so do the results, 9 out of 10 times. but its probably just internet exploder that is the problem. jb -

their models would have been smaller. some people, against all logic, just prefer VHS, I guess. jb -

"Greg" S? or do you mean Gregg, editor of a certain magazine? So is Steve Scott an approved target of slander around here or something? Sure seems like it. Lesser comments about others in a similar vein have been eradicated by the moderators long before they reach 5 pages. jb -

Is there some more concrete news you wish to relate to us "investors" or are you just speculating? Because I would see no reason to "disappear" at this point. Actually I am wondering: how much you are willing to put down in your "bet"? jb -

What cars interest you in resin 1/25
jbwelda replied to 5.0man's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
how about a nicely proportioned Cadillac XLR to convert a late model corvette kit? ive go the flintstone one and it looks like a diecast (from which it originated I believe) jb -
>Suspect future versions. like maybe a racing rear interior panel next to where that rear seat is? jb

its probably the exact sprues that come in the parts back, they were obviously sourced elsewhere and extra stuff looks to have been snipped off with some sprue cutters...by hand. that's an even better deal at hlj than I got, if they indeed get it in. its amazing how stuff from japan has dropped in price in the past year. another thing: if you are going to run webers or similar might find them elsewhere, the carbs on those motors approach bloblike quality. some from say the accurate miniatures corvettes or replica and miniatures will look far better. jb
