Nice rides...nice execution on both. I like the Bugatti...any more picks.

I guess part of the fun/challenge for me in building a model as opposed to just assembling a model is figuring out ways to overcome issues such as this. Getting any model to have the "right" look takes some thought just like building a real car. I have found that building some of the more poorly engineered kits are the most gratifying. Especially when your colleagues say 'Wow...you did that with that kit..how?'

Sort of looks like a Mortensen Engineering product. I have a set at home I'll check it out for comparison later. -
Is anyone aware of any photo etch for Shelby 427 cobras? Looking for some photo etch jack attachments.

Barrett Jackson Auction Begin Today!

I'm restoring a 1968 Triumph Daytona motorcycle at the same shop where the Shelby King Cobra was restored. I work at the shop on Saturdays...it was pretty cool to see the progress each week during the process. Impressive to be working alongside a 1.6 million dollar car. -

Scale Model Supplies in St. Paul. -
So most people are making $25 an hour? Average minimum wage is $7.40 per hour. Avg kit price for an AMT/Revell/Monogram 1/24 scale....$20-$25. If your buying from your local hobby shop and not off ebay or mail order. 3 hours or so minimum wage if my math brain still works correctly.

Sounds like my childhood. I was always really careful with dad models. I raced them on an oval shaped rug we had. Even though there were some "bad" crashes I never busted them up. I was always fascinated by military dioramas...as kid I thought my dream job would be building dioramas for museums. Dreams are cheap.

I always have sticker shock when I buy paint. If you add up all the stuff(tools, paints, etc) it's no wonder kids are not interested in the hobby. You could easily drop $60 to build a model about the price of video game. Then all they have is a dust collector that has very little play value.

I pretty much use automotive laquers to paint with. I buy them in pints and they last me a long time. I went to the paint shop yesterday to buy some Viking and Guardsman blue. $85 per pint. The last time I purchased a pint it was $40. A quart of Ditzler primer was $76. I should be set to paint Cobras from now until the zombie apocalypse.

They are Willy, Willy nice.

I bike and cross-country ski in the winter...no problems with sub-zero temps. I just got a below zero rated sleeping bag and am going to try a winter tent camping trip.

Accurate Kenz&Leslie Cougar Funny Car Decals
mrindy77 replied to Doctordarryl's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I like both your companies decals. Race cars are especially difficult to create a set of decals for...they are in a constant state of flux, race to race...even from qualifying to actual race on the same day. -
