  1. This Model A pick up was made by R&D Unique...its kind of hard to find. You need another A kit to finish it. It came with multi piece body, fenders, box, windshield, grille and headlights.
  2. A model building friend has a very funny(not funny at the time) about the gun kits. He built one a took it to an IPMS nationals. Had it in the window of his hotel room...you can almost guess what ensued.
  3. I've built 2 of these. I stripped them and repainted, drilled out body for wire lacing, engine turned the fire wall and engine, engine wired, leather seats. It's makes very nice end product.
  4. Gary Nygren...turns out we live a few miles from each so our trade took place in a parking lot.
  5. It's really a shame both teams can't lose.
  6. I certainly do mind reviving old posts. Why start a new one? Is commenting on older posts breaking some kind of internet etiquette? Just ignore if it causes you to have heartburn. I mean this in a general sense...not trying to ruffle feathers. I often wondered if model companies printed new kits in their catalogs just so that other companies would not do them.
  7. Your kids are a little too young but as mine got older I got them involved in the hobby....both of them enjoy being in my shop...building stuff, be it models, dollhouses, etc. I get to spend time with them and I get to work on models. Win, win. This allows the wife time to read...win.
  8. If you use One Shot sign painters paint you can achieve a very shiny and smooth finish. I used it on a panel on a 1/43 Porsche were a decal would not lay flat over the compound curves. It was very effective. One Shot covers with one pass...and takes quite awhile to dry. Due to that fact it 'smooths' out very nicely. I would not paint an entire model with it...scale thickness would be very hard to achieve.
  9. Take the 'other' kind with a grain of salt...some people have a difficult time trying to be positive....about anything.
  10. I was told by a former manager once, that maybe my best just was not good enough. That one stung...but it also gave me the impetus to make my best, better.
  11. Yes, I like constructive criticism. It makes me a look at the little details closer. It makes the difference between a good model and great model. The difference is in the details or omission of details. I think this topic has been hashed over in multiple threads. If you are posting models on here you are seeking some sort of response or gratification of your work. Obviously, your personality will dictate on how you choose to respond to constructive criticism. I look upon it as a challenge.
  12. I seem to recall Pratte bought the Futureliner about 8-9 years ago at BJ auction. I think it went for 4.2 million at that time. I also understand he a had more work done on it. I could be wrong but I don't think he came out ahead on this one after sellers fees.
  13. What's wrong with beer before noon? Beer pairs nicely with a Bloody Mary.
  14. Most realistic grass and mud I have seen in an auto diorama. Nice job...I like it.
  15. This one snuck by me...very nice Harry. I love Duesies. When I was in Vegas a number of yers ago I spent most of the vacation in the Imperial Palace car collection. They had a fantastic collection of them that is no longer. Nice job...love the color combo.
  16. There have been a number of 1/24 and 1/25 scale can am cars. Fisher Models make 2 different McLaren M6A, Porsche 917/30 in Sunoco markings and Chaparral 2E, Formula Canada did a 917/10 and a Shadow DN4, Accurate Miniatures McLaren M8B in various liveries. There have been a couple 1/20 McLarens. I think Otaki had some larger scale can am cars as well, a Lola, Shadow.
  17. I just finished up the March 707 in this pic and just a few more bits to put on the 429'er and polish the wing. Working on my 1/43 CanAm collection during the holidays.
  18. I built 15 of these. 33 Camoradi Maserati birdcages and 5 Ferrari Barchettas. and 33 1/43 Novis.
  19. Picked up a 1970 Chevelle for 50% off. Depends on what your looking for the Woodbury store probably had 30 different car kits. Not the LHS selection but could not pass up the 50% discount.
  20. Looks fast reminds me of our ASA series in the 70's and 80's.
