Revell Customer Service
mrindy77 replied to Rick Schmidt's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I received the same wrong part again form Revell yesterday. I am supposed to be getting the fenders for the 1950 Ford F1 pickup. I have now received 2 cabs. It even states on the PO that the customer has received the wrong part. It has the correct part number on the PO. Perhaps they should invest in a QA department. Maybe the 3rd time will be the charm. It is quite ridiculous. -
Revell Customer Service
mrindy77 replied to Rick Schmidt's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
My Revell customer service experience is not going very well. I sent my required paperwork in on 2/19/14, as requested because they needed the bar code from the kit. I sent in all that was requested and even a picture of the warped part. I received my package on Friday 5/16/14. The package looked to small to me...upon opening it was the wrong part. I sent in the number from the instruction sheet and a picture and they sent me the cab instead of the 'body' (which are actually the fenders) for the 1950 Ford pickup. I have sent an email on Friday and have not heard back yet. So at this point it is not going well. -
Really like.

Such a bummer: Chinese-built Craftsman tools.

With the stuff I work on I only use King Dick tools... made in my motherland. -

Well...we supposedly put a man on the moon...how hard can it be? -
Very nice. Nice pics as well.

Perhaps we need a cell phone deactivation device upon entering your motor vehicle. Automatically shuts them down before your car will start. -
I chucked them up in the lathe and spun them while holding fine steel wool on them. It smoothed them out and put a nice polish on them. The windows are tedious, cut carefully and slowly while test fitting. The cut line on the windshields are not very defined. I purchased the paint from Black Gold. It is House of Color Pavel Purple base and candy purple over that with a clear coat. Paints are all laquers and shot through an airbrush. If you are doing a replica these are the colors you will want to use according to the painter.

Looks like a candidate for Death Race 1980.

However sad this may be...how do you 'police' this from happening. The list you have presented does nothing to corroborate the photos you have posted. Do the shows explicitly state in order to win an award the entrant must have built it? Although this may sound harsh and will probably be construed not in the way I intend it but if it is the best model on the table should it not win? Someone built it and if they sold it it is no longer proprietary to that person. Does this person get 'banned' from entering any contests? I don't condone this activity...just trying to elicit some well thought out responses.

Making some progress on the sinister Olds. I like these wheels better than the moons. Not sure on the color combo for the Ed Fluck interior...red on black or silver on black tuck and roll. The interior castings are excellent, nice job Ed. Time to BMF.

I make my own beer, brewed under strict German Purity Laws, Reinheisgobot. Water from my well, barley from Wisconsin and hops from Oregon. Hand crafted by American hands in 5 gallon batches. After a few pints I could care less where my tools come from or where my model cars are manufactured. Life is too short to concern oneself with something that you cannot change...but beer on the other hand...well I can do something about that. -
I've been busy this weekend. Polished and assembled. Jimmy Flintstone creation...Frankenstude. House of color Pavel Purple base with Kandy purple on the top. This one is going to Rand Bailey, the painter who painted the real Frankenstude. I work in his shop on Saturdays restoring my 1968 Triumph Daytona. I get the pleasure of working next to some really high end multi mega dollar cars...cobras, porsches, shelby mustangs...its awesome reference. Outside it looks more like the real cars color purple.

Done, done and done. 1/43 Vroom Bugattis. From left to right T57 Gangloff Coupe, T57 Roadster Jean, T57 Grand Raid. I have had these kits sitting around for some time, they were to be built for a customer but he has no money...tough times...so they will now reside in my collection. The 1936 Roadster Jean is my favorite of the 3...the front wheel fenders turned with wheel. The pastel, mint green and the flowing lines are just darn sexy.

I was leaning towards a custom bodied Hispano-Suiza but it's hard to tell what the radiator mascot is. Hispano had a stork in flight. The badge/emblem on the radiator looks Hispano. -
