They shoot horses, don't they?

Keep going! -
Wonderful model.

Great model.

Thanks Ken for your input! That's a real good point about 'tricking your mind'. That's something I learned just today. It's like saying to yourself, 'hey dude, you don't want to work anymore....just afraid to say it out loud'! Well I said it today to a good paying and true business partner. Hey, I'm out of it after doing it so long for myself. Takes a while to grasp, but the fact is there is no friendship in a business relation. It's a cohesion that has to perform. Should it tilt, then save your own. I was dumb a couple of times without a doubt. I'm happy to not have to fight so much anymore.

Custom Kenworth W9 Completed
10thumbs replied to gino's topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Terry, what a nice thought to bring these back. Most were before my time with a truck model. Gino was a kind and decent man towards me. Seldom have I been so touched by an actual strangers' passing in real life. A decent Forum is really something special sometimes, worldwide. -
Great response here guys, thanks a lot. This helps to clear some things up, also that you're not alone....by any means, good stuff! Just this afternoon I received a call from an account that I've had for many years. A gentleman needs some help quickly, could I do it before Christmas Eve? No. My place is closing up and I'm on vacation for the season already. Man, I can't remember when I turned a decent contract down. What a feeling! I'm excited. Strange though, I has some trouble finding the words to decline the work. The situation will sink in soon, I feel good about it.

Gino Bruzzese Jr. has passed away
10thumbs replied to Tesla's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I'm really saddened by this news. I liked Gino, a great friendly attitude and he showed lots of interest for other guys' models. I gathered he was a happy family man too and enjoyed building trucks. Truly sad news. -
Thanks guys for the input. I've had Maxtor, WD, IBM and Seagates all go south at one time or another. Seagates seem to last longer though, just my experience. I have learned though in the meantime, to back up important data more often.

Just an off-topic question for blunc and talon63. Have you guys ever fixed a HDD that had issues? Among lots of electronics, they do have turning discs, can they be fixed? Just curious, over the years I've had lots of them just quit, after getting real slow. I often thought about opening one up.

What I found but not posting pics
10thumbs replied to American 185 Heavy's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Do I misunderstand something here? An announcement to build a model? Is this a wish? Whatever. That you don't want to post pics is pretty lame. This is a model building forum that thrives from pictures of members' works and projects. If you're only a looker, why bother us with your intentions? I believe you've posted before that you personally dislike projects that show lots of pics. Am I right? Bruce, what exactly are you wanting to achieve on the Off Topic Forum? -
Which political season do you mean? I do feel that the Navy can play a good tune if they're allowed to actually play.

Rich, as the add states, all 100% beef. Lots of juice in a big bull. Blood, guts, urine, poop and jizz too. Hey, it all goes down the big McD and friends drain too. Any fast food hamburger lovers here? I have to write though, there was this hamburger place in my home town. Like postage stamp burgers in a wimpy and soft bun with some fried, diced onions on top. Had a couple of pickle slices too. They had great chili too. The fries were pretty good. I miss the taste, rather have it than any other chain junky burger. This one; Yep, I'll have a hafl dozen with some fries and a small coke.

Hi Roger, I thought at first the rear end was too high, but the real pics show I was wrong. A great looking model and your detailing looks spot on. Paint looks really fine and the car looks as if it's ready to pull the wheels...... Great work again, compliments.
-
Thanks for showing Bill. Look how small the door post appears! Great info.

....and these animals were fed c.r.a.p. Those that go to McD's and other places like this eat really junky stuff that is defo not good to eat. I don't believe a word of 100%, but some are able to strectch laws and regulations to fit their own use, big time. I don't believe a word of this junk, and refuse to spend a cent there.

What I really like about these pics is they show a higher ride height than the Lindberg models depict. The rear wheel is clearly below the fender lip, plus the tire is quite a bit wider than 7". The tire really fills up the fenderwell and makes for a better looking model, my opinion. Also the front tire fills the well nicely, letting the model appear to be more realistic. The front well on the model is way out of shape, my opinion. Makes the model look too "front heavy". The Lindberg '64 Dodge is a nice model, just needs some adjustments. The door post is also too wide on the model, a fingernail file comes in handy here. I've built one, and have a couple for future exentual projects. Personally, I really like the 'Iron Butterfly' Dodge. That is the way I remeber them.

Many dudes here in old Germany at the many McD's, don't even know what a dang fish is. They do grin though since the filets are without heads. Actually, I kind of wonder if McD's know what a real fish is? I read about the "pink slime" they call real 100% beef. Well, it ain't. Talking about the stuff that becomes a hamgurger patty. By the way, I just realized my spell checker has disappeared after the last browser update. Oh no.

Hi Kevin, yep....a great collection of gems on that one! ....eee e-diot winnnnd.... I'll click it in now.

Ha! Paul, love it. May I ask if you rode during your working days as well? Grocery shopping accepted in this case. I'd buy mostly noodles and steaks anyway.

It's time to say goodbye to Florida - End of story 3/19

Oh my, good luck Rob. Winter tires will get you through light, white stuff. Summer tires will fail when it gets white. I even have winter tires on my Vespa scooter. Not so much for snow, but the rubber compound is better adapted to lower temps and allow more grip even on fogged up damper asphalt surfaces. Safe driving to you. -
Hi Peter, Thanks for the encouraging reply, greatly appreciated. Jeez, the wife is already making plans for the new life. Like, big breakfast everday, more of a brunch, then do some things, then a supper a bit earlier. No more lunch. I take a deep breath now, and think, this will be a debateable situation. Just, I refuse to go grocery shopping. Good too that I have several hobbies. What do you guys do?

Guys, I've been retired now for a while and have still been active on a limited basis for a couple of years now. Self-employed so if all else is normal, I can do a little bit to stay in touch and make some extra cash too! Plus staying at home and nothing to do just isn't in my DNA. This week I've decided to close the doors for the last time. I've had it. Enough is enough, don't need some younger account to lose his cool to cover up his own inability. It was a an unsavory experience for sure, but finally telling a dude who has been paying well for a long time, to do what you've been thinking for an also long time was a pleasure. I'm closing shop next week and will finish things up in January. I'm kind of scared too. New territory. No more shop to go to. The retirement is OK so no big issues there. I don't play golf everyday either. Just no more shop. No more 2nd home. I'll add though, the wife and I get along very well, this helps! What was your experinece when you left work for the last time? Please tell.

A Swordfish! Great. The Bismarck killer. Even better. PS: Were you able to pick up on the gals with the lovely legs too?

Good luck to you Rob. I'd say it takes brass ones to leave Florida in the winter, to go to Idaho. Hope you have decent tires for the trip. Good too that you get back home to your wife and family. -
You guys are having some serious winter weather. Germany hasn't any snow yet, mild temps and grey, gloomy and foggy weather. Yuk!
