  1. Hey, great your back and building Jim! I'll be looking for sure, your models are fantastic and have always been inspirational.
  2. Bernard, again we can all be grateful for your readiness to indulge in factual details. Respect! You're doing nicely, I like.
  3. Very nice detailing Joe, wonderful work!
  4. John! Thanks for the build pics, and also the real pics! Question: The pic you posted last, the one of your real car from back in the day....Can you please give some insight about the rear tire you have mounted? Looks like a lot more than a 7" tread, plus the deflated look is killer. These are exactly the cars that I learned to admire back in the day. Brother-in-law bought a new 64 426 Sport Fury, and I became then Mopar-addicted. The cars were really good. Thanks, Michael
  5. Sean is a great and knowledgeable contributor to our forum, I'm positive that he'll be back when his move is over and he's settled in.
  6. Really great progress Mitch! A wonderful model in the making, love it.
  7. The GM bubbletop was about the best design statement of early 60's cars, my opinion. Huge windshield with a small pillar and a sweeping rear glass. Wonderful design. Buick, Olds, Chevy and Pontiac and even Cadillac had the style. They were all beauties in my opinion. ....and then came some performance to the scene. What a time.
  8. "hopefully not sick of my post". 10 years and only 36 posts. I cannot write that I'm personally sick from you're posts or the models that you show. I think it stinks though that you do not show further interest in our forum, and that you don't show anything else but your occasional presence. The models you do show, and the background are however a nice touch, my opinion.
  9. Excellent paint.
  10. Nick, the model looks like a nice deal, but you have to focus on better presentation.
  11. See what I mean guys? JR is a trip. He can relay what it smelled like when firing up and rolling up to the tree. Starting procedures, gear engagement, the car is a rattling piece of pure power....and it stinks to high heavens. It's loud and unruly. No place for wussies here guys. The start procedure is not simple. The start procedure is very intense. The launch is insane, the cars do not go straight. Mr. JR was more than able to relay this info in a truly literate way. These words are for me gold value. The guy is good. Real good. Many thanks.
  12. I'm unsure about Pontiac '62 history but that black bubbletop is a dream. I do know for sure that Pontiacs had great over the counter performance parts available. Great work going on Mark! Looking good.
  13. ....planting tomatoes. Gotta love it. Yeah, rub it in guys. Old Germany and the rest of Europe has had sub freezing for weeks now, no end in sight. The heavy snow is still there and hard to negotiate. Good is, 10 days now of a high front. Sunshine and blue skies with tasty clear cold is winter pure! I kind of like it.
  14. Thanks guys. JR, I read you loud and clear. We understand each other. Also dude, many and again many thanks for your personal insight with F/A cars from those days! Guys, read this. JR wrote me quite often very detailed info on the fuel altered game from back in the day. Read for instance the year 1970. Before NHRA newer rules. Run what ya brung. Period. He was the greatest delivery source for instance, on how the aluminum belly pans were connected, and also why they were done so. jwrass is completely and readily able to relate to how the car smelled! The dust and stink and crud thrown in the pilot's face. Hey, plus the way a blown fuel altered Bantam felt when the light turned green. It was only a point and aim deal....with big time hold-on-for your-life and hope for the best. They rarely ran straight. Big time balls here. Thank you jwrass, my JR, for the time!
  15. Hi Bill, as sad as it is, I'd have to agree with you. I remember as a kid, there were two dudes in the neighborhood who were single. Cool cars and always wrenching in the garage, nice homes and women visiting all of the time. They had great status! I'm a lucky one, been married to the same girl over 40 yrs. We can still laugh. Greetings.
  16. lol. There you have it! Gotta give some love to an English Bulldog. I used to have a machine repair mechanic who drove around in a van, the back of the van being full of tools and things. The front passenger seat though was occupied by a big Rottweiler. The dog would sit on his butt completely, and hang the right arm out of the window, legs stretched straight out and pointing to the dash, hilarious. The mechanic had no worries of being robbed.
  17. Tory, please acquire knowledge supporting showing your pics.
  18. Still doesn't answer why a family man would want such a dog. Actually, why anyone would freely choose to have such a dog in his family. They are dumb as poop. Breed these with other similar dog species they become ridiculous killer machines. Still, they are dumb as poop. I have a distinct feeling this breed only deems as a donor for unsuccessful mutations, these benefiting certain folks that are not the regular types. Criminal elements and such. Fact for me is, they may be trained to do this and that, perhaps even friendly towards one's own family. They should be trained though for this exercise. Who goes through this ordeal? Do you have dog training experience? Lots of other dog breeds have an inbred love and protection for family members. They protect their own and protect our families. Some breeds though have questionable interests. Just asking.
  19. Still doing the casting stuff, thanks JR. The '25 Altered is done, a AA/FD needs some paint and a Fuel Coupe is in the works, all done in metal. They look good, I like. Just not much interest shown here for the technique, so on to other grounds. Time to move on.
  20. Hmmm. You're already calling him out as 'President'. I was wondering when the name would pop up. I'd love to write more about it, but you wouldn't like it and we'd probably fight. Going back to the title of this topic, men will be treated badly during divorce, child custody, and other social issues here in Europe, things are not much different than in the US. Liberal gov't and laws make life difficult for men who do not walk the line of women's laws. Just in private life, you will be treated badly as a man, if you are not a man. Meaning manly in your presence and being. Euro women do not like un-manly men. I'm not talking about looks, I'm talking about just plain old being a man and just thinking and acting like a normal-type man. Wussies do not get far in private life over here. I do have lots of respect though, for women who prefer to live without a man by their side. Its OK. Still, they are not opposed to occasional company. Probably better for men in the long run too if they'd consider a bit longer before becoming a sudden father. These guys have had it, financially speaking. Such a shame.
  21. Why would you want one of these breed of dogs? Seems they're kind of a dud in the dog world, but a good basis for a brutal animal. I've seen these types of dogs that really seemed to be dumb as poop, others that are in the news occasionally. I think for families in a mostly cultural environment, other dogs may be better suited. Didn't General Patton have one of those? Or was it only in the film?
  22. Man I love these topics. We humans can live without junky products and chemical BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH in honey and mustard and so forth.... Beware: The contents could contain natural ingredients. Puke.
  23. Yeah, cool stuff. Any pics?
  24. Wow, great front bench seat. Exactly what I need.
  25. Looks like your Dad has a 283, correct? I'd put my money on your car. Really great stuff that you two can be together like this, what a wonderful deal. I like both cars. Just one thing of interest now, this pic; The tilt of the front wheels when leaving, this was a definite Ford thing. GM and Mopars did not show this, if I remember correctly. The Thunderbolts were extreme, there were two in my area and they ran well. I'll never forget the way they looked when launched. I don't have a clue to the terminology. Just it seems only Fords showed this, bottom of tire way out when the body lifted.
