  1. Wow. Yep, I agree, 400 then 800 paper will get it smooth all right. You wanted a "murdered out" look, well, that bad boy in black looks smooth now for sure. You killed it. Fat tires too, how cool is that? Can't wait to see more progress on this one.
  2. All the pics I posted on builds are gone, so why can't we just delete the topics? What good are build progress topics without pics? A few months back we could delete or own topics, has this function been removed?
  3. NYLIBUD, Man I can't wait to see if you really build this one. This will really be a cool car. Love it. Do you have real live thoughts, or is it just a planning stage right now? I'm looking forward to seeing you do this one. What an excellent project!
  4. Great to finally find a safe way to transfer money from a US to Euro bank account. No hassles, the costs are minimal, like 1%. Banks are a rip off, always have been, always will be. Modern times can be deemed to be great too.
  5. Ouch! Robert, it pains me to read of your mishap. A horrible thought, and I'm sincerely sad to read about this.
  6. Well them pics look good, but what would you like to convey? You post a couple of pics but choose not to write anything. Sad.
  7. Hey Joe, good to see you back! Even though the past times were not easy for you, I really think you can find some contact here. Greetings, Michael
  8. @Geoff, yes sir, you have a plan. Good luck to you, sir. Hi Carl! Thanks for the words. I'm real happy now to have made the cut, and with good timing. I'm in decent health, no big issues, can't spend any money yet though, as the IRS here in Germany just handed me the bill for '15....ouch. 2016 shows lesser work as I'd cut down my work load a lot, but still....amazing how a small country like Germany, has for the 3rd year in a row a huge 3 figure billion-plus household surplus. No wonder with these taxes. Puke. Man really, they want your last change before you lay down the last time. At this point I won't mention how much they owe to NATO. That would be political.
  9. Tory, please excuse this interruption. I like your work and look forward to many updates.
  10. OK, I want to make a statement here, and now. Dear NYLIBUD, you keep posting your unfinished models, it seems to me, every chance you get. You even re-start these topics just to reshow pics of your unfinished projects. We've all seen these unfinished and blurry pics of yours before, many times. This is one thing. The next is, again, you post your unfinished build pics on another member's topic. This is internationally taken on the internet, as an affront. For you, so that you understand, this means it's just flat taboo to do such. You seem to want to draw attention to yourself, through means of another member. Would you please refrain from using another member's topic to show your own models? Please take note, I am not alone on this opinion. Thank you.
  11. Tory, great work and a huge mod to this model. Looking good.
  12. Tory, looking pretty quick and nasty there. Good work.
  13. What kind of cover do you use on your keyboard? Really great. Love to hear some details too about your real cool build. Man really, could you please show some pics of the rear end?
  14. Thanks Bob. Ending things on our own terms, as you stated above, is possible in a lot of cases. Just our way of life makes it difficult. For 40 years, I followed a single principle, and feel lucky to have found a woman, my wife, who agrees and is not in any great need for luxury junk to waste money on. We've lived well, and will continue to do so in retirement. I'd love to state some very sound tips, from my own experience, and many before me who had a clear view of their own income. I was very fortunate in my early military days to have run across a gentleman who knew money very well. You do not need to make a lot of money monthly to build on a sound retirement for later on down the road. I'd love to offer, but I won't here. You can do it too. I'm a firm believer in sound income management, and you don't become a fool either for spending your money to enhance another man's own pocket. Thanks for the well thoughts.
  15. Look what time does. Back last July I was full of fire and enthusiasm as I replied to this very same topic. Time baby, does tell. For me, Mr. Original Old School "get it done" or else....has become a lazy pos. I'm tired, and am taking a break. I'll be back, hopefully. I still love model building, and will go with the flow.
  16. Kind of like a shot'gun....one will get the f'ugger at least.
  17. PS: Would you pleazzzzzze, correct your grammar? It makes me feel like puking to see your "I'am". Come on, get with the program.
  18. I thought all along that your posts were jokes. You say...."Yea,now Go build some models". Need I say more? Dude, be grateful that we respond in any way whatsoever, OK? This is a "discussion forum", am I right?
  19. ...."and a little detailing". Gotta love it. The bit you do is just right. Very fine model.
  20. What a beautiful model. I love the car too, just personally I prefer the Comet hood for this old Merc. T-Bolts is something else. Gosh what a cool period, we all loved seeing these cars run, and they ran well. Sounded good too. Compliments.
  21. There is nothing "muscle" about a Jap car, period. Muscle Car is what Bill showed right up front on the 1st page of this topic. Lets say generally '63 to '70, at the latest. Intermediate cars got bigger, more powerful motors with a somewhat fitting drivetrain that were able to smoke tires at will, they hauled azz, and braked terribly, and were road ready as long as the curves weren't too twisty. I always thought GM cars were better built with nicer features, Mopars were quicker, and Fords were too heavy and funky looking. What a thrill! They were all great. The era ended with smog control, period.
  22. Hello Geoff. Your words ring in my ears. My work was my life, for decades. I never thought to want to quit at such a young age as 66 yrs. Young, and dumb. Feels like... "wanna here a good joke? Tell God about your plans". The cards are mixed, I'll gladly take my hand and be good with it. Good luck to you sir.
  23. Yeah, I hear it, loud and clear sir. For the 1st time in my adult life, I don't have to anymore. Fugg 'em. Jeez, this is fun!
  24. Hi Mark. Thanks for the wishes. You know what, I've been trying to all along. Doing what you want to do. Just when you want to earn money from another man, be it as employee or employer, you have to make sacrifices. You have to go with the flow, both ways. You sir, have had some bad luck and a twist of fate that you surely didn't want. I'm sure that you've had more experience than I have at getting along. Respect.
  25. Well now looky here! I'm humbled that you come around and tell a bit. This really pleases me. Good to hear from you, although I'm saddened that things had to go this direction. Stay strong and get on with your own life dude....some folks don't go with your current, and don't swim well. A time comes you have to let go. Still however, remain focused and strong, you'll get there. The old turd, my 1st brass and metal casting endeavor, the extremely bashed AMT 33 Willys.... This opened a whole new world. Here the last finished car, a AA Fuel Altered, all metal;
