Looking good Ron! You know, I think what makes this one look really good is that you choose to not have chrome wheels! Excellent choice, my opinion. This car looks right.

Looks excellent Jim! I really like the snappy paint job and choice of color too. Also the natural looking tire patina is outstanding....all of this is just greatly enhanced by wonderful lighting and photography. Love it!

Man this one looks real good Wayne! Great job. Question: What scale tire is mounted up front? Looks good.

I'm irked again today. My Win10 notebook updated itself again, now the thing is dead. Start button..no work. No lights come on, no nothing. Oh well, the old Win7 notebook still works.

What a pleasant looking old house, I like that. Being from the south, I still get a kick out of 1st snow, here in Germany. Got it last weekend, big time. Gone now, but coming back this weekend. Yes, stay at home if you can, and enjoy the season.

Joe, well post a story about beer, or great sandwiches. Maybe childhood pranks that might make us all smile. We all like those. Nothing serious like things are nowadays.

Looks great Jon, very clean and interesting. Great paint too, and very nicely photographed! Well done.

Nice work Ron, looking good! Wait till the car is painted and finished....those solder headers will look great.

Hi John, just excellent! The car really looks good set up like this, the 'Hemi Honker' is a great choice for this kit and it sits just right. I like that the rear wheels are well clear of the upper fender lip, and nice detailing of the steel rims as well. This model really looks good in this livery, and reminds me of the way so many of them looked back in the day. Well done! -

I agree with Bill, good pics there bud. Look though at the 1st pic on your 1st post, even there the car sits at a more normal height, which to me looks to be much better than the Lindberg model. The Lindberg deal is just too low, and as a model does not do proper justice to the way these cars looked back in the day. Also, Bill you're right. The 'Iron Butterfly' model is way too low. Those guys were fans of a higher ride height as many internet pics show. This is all my opinion, sorry again if this disturbs. John, I hope to have not outstretched your tolerance. Greetings. -
Well Alix, I agree, the method you show is a lot better than some kit. But Alix, the way you tell us to do a search on a 'how to' kind of sucks. You're kind enough to show you're stuff, just not so nice when it comes to your secrets. Is it so difficult to communicate?

Hi John, nope. I used the kit tire up front. A taller tire (1:24) would be better. The rear slick is one of those 9" slicks from the AMT pack. The slick is not correct, just I think they look better on the model. -
I was very happy to get some new parts installed on my Vespa, before the winter cold sets in. The garage is not heated, and the concrete floor whoops on my joints big time. Plus the hand joints don't like cold either. Some of you guys are showing 1st snow, Germany hasn't any yet, other than the higher regions (Alps). I rebuilt a low mileage motor earlier this year, the Vespa has 50% more displacement and 20% more power now. A longer gear and I cruise at 70 now, 75 top speed....if needed. Yoohooo! Fun!

Looking good John. @Nick, that's a good point, and those pics from the museum are a great reference, I have a few of those too. Also, lots of pics from back in the day show that the "Color me Gone" Dodges were indeed lower than many of the other teams' cars. Just my opinion, the Lindberg model looks weird when built stock. The dimensions for the front fenderwell and tire just don't match up. The tire looks lost in the huge opening. Granted, the 64 Dodge had a huge bumper up front, and the Lindberg model just magnifies this particular attribute, my opinion. The real car did look good when jacked up in front to match the standard Super Stock springs that were factory parts, hung out back. John, I'd like to show a few pics here of a Lindberg build which took a lot of work to get the car riding a lot higher than the model specs. The ride height was more normal for the S/S cars that I remember seeing. Not jacked up, just not crouched like the model. Just 2 pics; The fronts are 1:25 tires, too short for the wells. Look at the long space from the front lip up to the bumper. Plus, I should've painted the inner wells black, as apparently on the original race car, it would've helped. Just I like Mopars with body color everywhere, the car was a white car. Also, I used slicks, wider too than the very puny looking 7" deals. The door posts are also filed down. Sorry John, no hijack was intended. The Lindberg Dodge is a great model, but it's way out of whack in a couple of areas. If you PM me, I'll delete this post if you like. -
Building solder headers which way ?
10thumbs replied to Greg Myers's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
You could also buy the right sized solder. I have solder in 1" to 3", scale of course, and in various sizes in between. For a big block fender well header, 2.5" is big enough. Don't you think? -
Wow. The Alclad looks great on those carbs. What scale is this one?
