  1. The item sitting on the booster reel floor is a strainer that attaches to the hard suction when they are drafting from an unknown water source that might have contaminants that would damage the pump. Simple mock up would be a piece of exhaust pipe from a big rig truck model with a cap and ring in the center. there was rope tied to the strainer to retrieve the hose from the source when done. Other mock up would be tubing cut to size, capped and rope tied and then wound around the strainer like a spool with the other end of the rope stuck in the end. only start wrapping rope at top greg
  2. Nice tribute, Need to set up drag race between that and a car for 'Big John and Lil' Chuck? Ernie Anderson the voice of ABC network, writer for Carol Burnett, tagged along with Tim Conway and Joe Flynn to Hollywood. Nothing like staying up late and getting WJW on the TV and seeing Ghoulardi do his antics, 'Knif' greg
  3. The updated Motormax Ford Interceptor/explorer is out. Did the silver version into Ohio State Highway patrol. Building hint: If you remove the front push bumper bar the holes can be filled with the smallest lights from the universal AMT clear red truck light tree. The lights on the first row of the tree fit exactly in the holes giving you little red flashers for the front. Wish Bill Bozo would update his OSP decal sheet. greg

  4. I just want to thank the sponsors, promoters and the participants in the NNL East. Fantastic show, What I have seen through various media the show must have been tremendous. Thanks to all who have shared your videos and pictures to all of the hobbyists unable to attend. I really miss the original NNL meets in Toledo Ohio. The traveling feet of my youth have grown roots to my residence and no longer have the desire to travel. Best to all that made the venture and keep on modeling and promoting the hobby greg
  5. Glad to assist. Enjoy passing along fire apparatus construction tips. Don't forget the extra hose divider in the bed. Charlie and I couldn't determine if there was discharges on the rear of the truck.Another puzzle are the two wheels at the discharges there is usually only one master pressure set wheel. I now see with these photos that the booster reel was a hand crank rewind which is resolved with a rod from the gear box ( to make a gear box use an end from a rear spring traction bar ball joint) at the reel to the left side hose guide. Two other items from the kit modifications are the tail lights and move the electric outlet to side of the cab. I would just use sheet stock instead of the rear compartment panel piece for the tail light area. greg
  6. Where's the piano or ice? Nice job on the T greg
  7. Hey Rick: Welcome back to the future where the models you built in the 60's are now being reproduced and cost 300 times more than the 60's. greg
  8. Good to see they still let you over the border, I would have put you on the watch list in Toledo! Thanks for all the pictures. Why the October date under the pics? greg
  9. I had the Dodge Ramcharger version, Don't recall the water ski rack in the kit. They look more like snow skis instead. (use on 'Better of Dead' Camaro!) greg
  10. Nice NASCAR builds. I also liked it back then. greg
  11. Just for the fun of it and to see if it was possible I made the pump panel used masking tape to mark off spots that needed to remain, carefully planed, filed, and sanded area Recommend shapeways source for the stortz suction connection. https://www.shapeways.com/shops/downrangeproductions1-35th-scale?section=1%2F24+scale+parts&s=0 greg
  12. To add to Charlie's rear wheel protrusion, use the Ford wheels, on the rear brake drum take 1/8th inch off the axle shaft and reverse the brake drum rear plate that goes on the differential. so far so good to my eye. I can't tell from your picture if there are two discharges on this side. greg
  13. Very nice collection and caused a google search into EMF and Fador's models. Thanks for the history lesson. greg
  14. Needs a big a## siren! nice job. greg
  15. Thank goodness the Akron engine doesn't have the crew cab extension that was added by many manufacturers. greg
  16. Great diorama! Wasn't it the Keystone Kops? Cops was spelled with a K to correspond with the Keystone studio that produced the films. I'm guessing it was corrected so the influential little brains to be molded had to have the right spelling. greg
  17. Charlie is going to have his own 'Red Ball Express' greg
  18. Not a very hard conversion to do: here are a few of mine This one was from a long time ago which I donated to a charity auction. Here are some hints: If you need some help feel free to pm me. Please make sure the hard suction ends are reversed from the instructions as they are shown the wrong way. greg
  19. Your detailing is appreciated. One question on your welding outfit. The tanks upstairs are uncapped and the ones on the welding rig are capped, how do you turn them on? Also aren't oxygen tanks green and acetylene red. Always like a good diorama that tells a visual story. greg
  20. Just one more detail for the fine job, On the rim in front of the lids they hand paint in yellow paint 'WIRES' with an arrow if there are over head utility line above the load zone. You need a front loader for that: greg
  21. This is the part I was thinking of: geg
  22. What an ambitious project, Really a bit of history. I think I found the inspiration for the air induction scoop (would the AMT double dragster kit scoop work?). How would you work on that engine after a run with those headers. greg
  23. While attending the Buckeye Classic NNL there was a young gentleman with his father who assisted a vendor with his merchandise. My suggestion would be for the promoters of an event to team up with the local boy scouts and for a nominal few assist vendors if they wish with there wares during set up and breakdown. This would be a fund raising event for the scouts and aid the elderly vendors whom seem to make up the majority of them. greg
  24. Just a few and early entries to the NNL Classic, Thanks to the club for a great show and great vendors. Looking forward to next year. https://public.fotki.com/GLMFAA1/13th-annual-buckeye/ greg
  25. This you tube has good reference material: greg
