If you like pizza, you've must have seen the white circle pizza saver in the center of your carry out to protect your pizza from the cruel hungry lid of the box. Nothing like your extra cheese being on the lid of the pizza box. Save that little white plastic pizza saver as it makes a great little cafe table in scale. Make sure its washed clean unless your making a mafia hit scene!. In 1/25th scale a diameter of 28 inches by height of 38 inches. Available from restaurant suppliers for the gluten free. greg

Round 2 could easily make a squad 51, They would need to back date the Dodge pick up with the correct grille, make the squad box, air bottle rack, K-12 saw box, and fire extinguisher that are exposed on the body. Change the wheels and add dualies, modify the light bar to a cali bar, add radio, siren, and helmets for the interior. Licensing from LACoFD, Univeral Studios or even Jack Webb Productions would be needed to be squad 51 Let's call it 'West Coast fire/rescue truck' with generic decals greg -
AMT 1959 Cadillac Ambulance First Look
GLMFAA1 replied to martinfan5's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
As an ad a long time ago said: Stop the insanity! Why can't we get a true high top ambulance or a true length van type raised roof ambulance? The closet kits were the JoHan Miller ambulance and the 1/20th MPC Ford van Superior version. BTY: Is Dan Gurney the driver, patient or attendant (includes all new gurney) What happened to stretcher? The greatest emergency vehicle would be Squad 51. greg -

I have been working on this for years, I want to do the original original ghostbuster moble when Ray Stantz delivered the Caddy to the station. I mated thefront of the Monogram Caddy convertible to the ecto II body so that I would have engine detail and tried to mate 1/24th to 1/25th. Is the Revell Caddy 1/25th or 1/24th or repop of Monogram? greg -
A local fire district celebrated its hundredth anniversary this year and when they held their banquet I asked them what they were using for center pieces at the tables. I volunteered my collection of fire models to be center pieces in return for a free dinner. Original projection was for 35 to 40 models, in the end it was just fifteen. For their cake display I had an aerial ladder flag salute set up. Each table had a different fire apparatus. All went well and all were unharmed. Each model was in a display case and chipped with rfid chips. They also asked if I could do a replica and raffle it off, The time crunch prevented that but I was able to modify a 1/50 scale die-cast to replicate their Mack C85 pumper. The raffle was to go to their Christmas for a family project. It went for $200.00. A very different type of display that was pleasantly accepted by the participants. I took a leap of faith that all would be well and it did. Thanks to Charlie for the replica decals and thanks for the friendship of the fire department and on to the next 100 years greg Apology for the blurry picture.

I'm trying to get a new model produced!
GLMFAA1 replied to RocketFoot's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Let's set some historical facts out there. First the late Jim Etter made the original Mack models for Mack trucks Inc. He was taught master molding techniques and made the resin castings of several Mack cabs, He turned the lessons into a side job of selling the raw castings to the scale model makers. AIM was the original company. After his passing the molds got to ATIM where they were refined and improved. I don't know who has rights to Mack trademarks for models since so many toy and model companies have replicas and with the fluctuation of Mack ownership. So if someone looks hard enough a Etter cab may come up for sale. The B61 was always a great fire chassis. I would like to see a true plastic model and I believe the chassis of that era was a straight frame as opposed to the Y shape of the modern R type. I had the pleasure of meeting and being at Jim's 'factory' in McConnelsburg, PA. Always a Mack fan. greg -

American 1:25 scale four door sedan and wagon promos and kits
GLMFAA1 replied to Junkman's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I obtained a craftsman 60 Chevy station wagon, kept the green plastic and did the interior with a darker green trim and the contrail in the interior color, lots of foil and Molotaw. Interesting how it is squashed when compared to Prieser figures Friction toy Escalaide is another 4 door that matches Revell's version. greg -

1907 Curtiss V-8 Motorcycle
GLMFAA1 replied to cobrafia's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Maybe 4 Maisto 1/18th Harleys to make the engine, frame, wheels, handlebars, and then lots of evergreen or K&S tubing. Don't get you pants caught in that open gear, looks like a pad on the rear tire for a brake, no foot pegs that I can see. direct drive? glad he stuck with aviation and left the bikes to Harley and Davidson greg -
Ollie's strike again
GLMFAA1 replied to GLMFAA1's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
What does it take Ollie's to sell discount models. First there are 490 stores, so if each store gets 2 cases of let's say the Rat Fink 4040 that's 11,760 units. Let's say they get them at 20 cents on the dollar: that's $ 64.99 retail price so 12.98 each. so the cost is $152,644.80 cost, being sold at 19.99 equals $234,964.80 so a profit of $82,320 This is all conjecture on my part but interesting use of my calculator. Just keep building greg
