  1. To all the video modelers who do 'unboxings': Please read the instructions first before you show the parts and if you are unfamiliar with the item learn what it is. It would be a benefit to your presentation to state what you know about the kit especially one that is a re release that had prior different versions where the manufacturer left the older parts from past version. Maybe take a marker and show what different parts are and color code them to show what matches up. i.e. 2wd vs 4wd parts. Some pre-production rehearsal or story board planning would be helpful in your presentations. Maybe I should file this under 'what irked you today' but it's not just today. greg
  2. welcome to the forum greg
  3. Be sure to note the caveat: SELECTIONS MAY VARY BY STORE! greg
  4. On the B windows they are reversed A windows so there is a none moving rear quarter window piece. greg
  5. I would suggest a little thicker piece for the window frames, two 40x40 glued together or 80 piece with scibed line. with that huge sun roof what a great base for a famous ambulance. keep on fabricating. greg
  6. Now lets set Mr. Peabody's way back machine to the early 1970's where President Ford establishes WIP ( Whip Inflation Now!) program. Along comes a little model builder that reports to the President that Testor's is not following his program by increasing the cost of their paints. Makes national news. Your bottle is between then and the 80's. SIDEBAR: Patcra made a gun metal bottle paint that was a great paint for the magnesium color of mag wheels. Their spray silver undercoat was the best for bare aluminum aircraft. greg
  7. Nice job, liked the use of the Dodge van mirrors greg
  8. Ironically yesterday my detector in my office room which is also my dog's crate residence went off early morning. My dog does not tolerate the beeping detectors very well. At six a.m. I'm in my pj's on a ladder and changing the battery. Interesting the 10 year energizer rabbit is now only has five years of life. When the beeping starts for low battery the first thing I do is take my leaf blower and attack the detector to make sure it is not just dirt. greg
  9. Thankful the kids wanted to go to the basement. Most kids don't like basements (see furnace in "A Christmas Story") Smoke detectors are a chore like they used to be with 10 year batteries but they do expire in seven years and they will let you know that. greg
  10. Nice build, glad to see 3d four door sedans showing up. Off subject item that I see a lot of from western states cop cars and on model kits is the large side spot lights mounted on the light bar. Didn't that hinder the revolving lights efficiency? I could see the use as so called 'alley lights' but when responding 'code 3' I would want some side alerting system to be effective. Running 'code 3' with the spots on would wash out the revolving red light. What was your experience? Step 12 from MPC Force 440 instructions greg
  11. Tom: Why do you think they call it a 'flu' shot? have a healthy Thanksgiving. Gobble gobble the turkey till you wobble! greg
  12. It's a movie prop. Bruce Willis' cab didn't fly in the 'Fifth Element'. I also stated 'supposedly' meaning I was leery of the information. Maybe a directors chair lift instead of a camera. thanks for the clip. greg
  13. No movie made in 1966, Don't know if Bradbury was that futuristic to do electric. Looks like it was off a Leyland rear mount based on bus chassis circa WWII. Movie was made in England. supposedly the aerial chair is a camera boom by Mole-Richardson camera crane. greg
  14. Would you please post some more photos of the model siren as I would like to see the front, I've never have seen such an 'art deco' siren like that. Is the real picture from a Seagrave or Bickle? With that tilted light you wonder if it was a boat siren. greg
  15. Has anyone built or attempted to build the apparatus from the Movie? When I get around to my attempt I am starting using the old Heller kit as the base greg
  16. "Why build one when you can have two at twice the price."

  17. Safety! We didn't need no safety! I rode to Florida from Ohio and back sitting on a Coca-cola cooler in the front seat of a new 1954 Ford station wagon between my dad and mom. greg
  18. I don't kill spiders because of an old 'Night Gallery' episode where a man constantly washes a spider down the drain and every time he does it it grows bigger!. greg
  19. Here are a few of mine: greg
  20. If you like pizza, you've must have seen the white circle pizza saver in the center of your carry out to protect your pizza from the cruel hungry lid of the box. Nothing like your extra cheese being on the lid of the pizza box. Save that little white plastic pizza saver as it makes a great little cafe table in scale. Make sure its washed clean unless your making a mafia hit scene!. In 1/25th scale a diameter of 28 inches by height of 38 inches. Available from restaurant suppliers for the gluten free. greg
  21. Looking for information on 1/25th-24th 2003 Corvette kit if there was one produced what or by who made it, prefer not die cast. If not made how close can I get and modify to a 2003. greg
  22. Would the old MPC Jeep swamp buggy winch work? greg
  23. Thanks to Charlie I have a new project also. Mack L (model 85?) series pumper. Thanks to Warren D for the rear fenders. greg
  24. Looking forward to see all the working parts this fine watch that Charlie will build. You know I have a derelict Trumpeter ALF so if you need extra parts, let me know. greg
  25. The custom seats from the AMT 1934 Ford pick up might be close enough. greg
