  3. I agree with you that IPMS judges do not know what they are looking at when comes to automotive models. I have found that in my area IPMS contests are judged by near by IPMS clubs and there is an inborn knowledge of who's model is who's. I entered a contest many years ago where a judge said of both my scratch built Sutphen tower and Mack Aerialscope were kits (Do I wish). Nice collection of auto models. At the end of the contest that I entered there was dispute between the winning F4 Phantom and another entrant because the battery box in the winning F4 was upside down. Go figure greg
  4. I attempted the same thing years ago but gave up on the sanding and gave it away to a builder on this forum then get a review of my chassis wheel base cut was off. greg
  5. Nice job, We can always start a pink convoy! Original second release AMT Peterbilt with Pactra pink greg

  7. Flying around my build area a fictitious Blue Angel F-14 out of the Revell 1:32 kit. Maybe I should letter it Bleu. greg

  11. Inconsiderate neighbors: Last night my neighbor decided he needed to fire his guns for two hours. In Ohio your allowed to discharge firearms in townships. greg
  12. Upon further inspection I found that the rear suspension was not in the right place. Corrected by inserting suspension in right holes. I did find that the holes for all the pinned parts were a little undersized and needed to be reamed out a little. greg
  13. Greg....are you the head honcho of the old GLMFAA that used to do those terrific fire apparatus displays at the earlier NNL Nats at Toledo (and I'm guessing you are given your forum name). If so, great to hear that you are still involved and following the hobby! Cheers....TIM Yep it is I, Still in it and retired and have less time for the hobby☹️. For those that might be interested it was Great Lakes Miniature Fire Apparatus Association. Consisted of fire modelers surrounding the Great Lakes including Canada. Competed with FAMBA (Fire Apparatus Model Builders Association) out of East coast corridor. Life got in the way and the club withered away, it was great well it existed. greg
  14. Box stock Charger in Tamiya metallic blue, Nice kit, was going to make it into cop car using old Lindberg hood but changed my mind with the new release coming out. Don't know why track is off on drivers side. Glad to hear that the windshield on the new kit is pre-painted. A little change of pace for me being not red and modified from kit. greg
  15. If you just surf the interweb for Dodge state patrol cars you will see a variety of the wheels on the units. Just OSP (Ohio) picture show three different wheels. The holed wheels date back to the 80's and I did hear of departments specifying the steel wheel as opposed to the cast wheels with the thought that the steel wheel well not shatter like cast wheels do. greg
  16. Nice build greg

  22. Easiest fix for shaping beacon lights to body is to place a piece of sandpaper with the grit up and sand the base of the beacon to form the shape of the roof. In 1:1 the base is thin metal so it can be cut to form the roof shape and finished off with a rubber gasket. greg
