  1. If your not using the part you are cutting off I find it easier to use Dremel sanding drums to remove clear parts. greg
  2. Not too many reference picture to follow, borrowed Johan NYPD light, decals (will be changing numbers). MPC Jeep wheels and tires. Some pics have black grille and some with green and the rear quarters are either green or black. It's a 'Buckeye Bronx' version. greg
  3. Thanks for the kind word, What was the spin off? Interesting show very few guns only the bad guys. greg
  4. My original that I built years ago, Bad AMT candy spray can green, TV station remote, Rehabbed recently greg
  5. Calling this one done: Revell Land Rover, Thule brackets from down range shapeways, light bar from AMT Ghostbuster, Various parts from welly die cast Land Rover, decals by Charlie, C1 models, flares from AMT Ford van, and Tamiya yellow and blue paint. Nine seasons of shows to pick what version of Land Rover to pick, unweathered version. greg
  6. My apologies to the group. I have been informed this is a newer motorcycle than the kits. My error, I was at a motorcycle club banquet and I have no knowledge of motorcycles. Maybe it would help in updating a kit bike. greg
  7. Has anyone tried a piece of electrical heat shrink tubing to make a collector for headers to exhaust pipe? Was just setting here and it popped into my head, would have to be a low temp as to not melt plastic. greg
  8. Getting towards the finish. slowly adding bits and pieces to get the Defender look, greg
  9. Not that I am an NPR supporter but there is a program called 'hearts of space' with new weekly programs featuring new age and mostly instrumental music. free subscription on the intertwinenet: https://www.hos.com/home greg
  10. Looks like they got the International COE and not just the trailer, that is a really nice kit! They do have the trailer, picked up one, lower shelf of second picture. greg
  11. Ollie's stash at local store. "Tar Knif"* greg *If you grew up on the North Coast of Ohio you will know what the quote is about.
  12. The old Wil-O-Line wooden fire engine kits had the wheels. a little heavier spoked but right diameter. Looks like these in this photo are repros as I don't recall them in clear. Years ago Jim Etter cast repos in pewter. Interesting build, always fascinated by the power trains in the original automobiles. greg
  13. Well, when your model fire department has eight ladder companies the parts become very familiar. greg
  14. Another fine masterpiece. I think the next game is 'Where did that part come from?' I like that the top of the AMT ALF Ladder chief hydraulic ladder cylinder cap is the front axle bearing cap. greg
  15. I asked for replacement tires for a model and got them with no questions. You might have to wait for a re-pop of the model to get the part if they don't have it in inventory. Patience is all it will cost. greg
  16. Another way of keeping the dimples is once removed from the master sheet is to use a liquid glue like Elmer's to fill in the dimples. once dry it is easier to work with and not damage the dimples. I use a spray contact cement to then adhere the foil to the project. I use the large deck floor from the AMT ALF ladder chief kit to get foiled deck plate. All of this Seagrave was done with this method. greg
  17. https://papyhobby.com/collections/papyhobby-d8 hope this works for you. greg
  18. I have an upcoming fire department 100 year anniversary banquet where I am supplying model fire apparatus as table center pieces. I would like to attach RFI devices to the cases and to be able to have like my Ipad near the door to prevent theft. Anyone have any ideas or know of a process where multiple items in a room can be tracked? Apple air tags are out of the question due to cost as I;m supplying 35 units. I think if someone has an inexpensive and or rental system there might be a market for that application. greg
  19. I need help from a electronic genius. I have Spectrum phone service for my home phone. I can call Carlie and we can talk for hours without any interference on the lines. I talk to my friend 20 miles away I get cracks, buzzes, loss of volume and click call dropped. I contacted Spectrum several months ago and got a replacement modem due to mine being out of date. I still have the problem and my friend had ATT&T check her lines. Interesting is that she does not hear the noises on her end. Last night I had enough and called Spectrum, The system was all checked and he said there was no problem. My limited electronic guess is that the connection between Spectrum and ATT&T is not fully connecting. He said it was their problem and past the 'buck' to them. Great debate between me and the tech began and I got frustrated and hung up. Anyone out there have any ideas where the problem lies? greg
  20. WOW boy time is flying, I didn't realize I parked this project that long ago. I got the hood and grille from C1 scale models and what a difference. getting towards the end of this project. greg
  21. Have odd request for a fellow modeler to help this model builder do a huge non modeling favor in Troy, Ohio Please PM me if you can, no need to reply to this request in the open forum. greg
  22. Just a few photos from car show. To hot so not too many photos, The 1952 ALF 700 parade truck is back in the area after a detour in the South. https://public.fotki.com/GLMFAA1/armstrong-austintow/
