  1. Wife's Toyota Echo has 175k. A friend's Echo has 425k -Last I looked two years ago. My 97 Suzuki Metro had 325k on it when I sold it.. My Tacoma is just reaching 200k. No more Detroit junk for me.
  2. I had one when I was 10 or so. The drill was neat.
  3. I'm a big fan of the Squadron Seam Scraper for jobs like this. It'll cut the seam line evenly, and won't damage surrounding detail or surface.
  4. Just got some of the Metallic stuff. -Is using Micro Metal Foil adhesive overkill? I'm looking forward to playing around with this. Just got some of the Metallic stuff. -Is using Micro Metal Foil adhesive overkill? I'm looking forward to playing around with this.
  5. Funny.. Before I saw that it was compressed-air powered, I was looking at it closely wondering if was sheet metal covering an existing motorcycle engine- BMW "Flyingbrick? ..Goldwing?.. what? That's how I'd do It though, Gas engine, get it at least up to 50mph.
  6. I've built a lot of Heller models in different subjects. I still find one on Amazon sometimes for a reasonable price. Good, basic kits that you can superdetail the heck outta, or just enjoy as is.
  7. ..More or less.. I have the RCoM Baja, Got the Tamiya donor kit.. Got space all set aside on the bench..
  8. I got a great deal off ebay. -25 Testors #11 knife sets each w/one handle and six blades in a carded package, all for 15 bucks. Come to find, all the #11 blades have this odd "tanto"-style tip. It has an extra angle just below the tip. Takes some getting used to. I still have a100-pack of Excel #11's in the shop, so no big 'ting.
  9. Quite fiddly to work with, but try some photoetched wire looms from Detail Master.
  10. Delightful to look at. Excellent craftsmanship, Mr. Fae.
  11. I recently got a Dream Tool I've wanted for many years. It's an old-school guillotine paper cutter. I can cut fine strips of BMF now and they're perfectly straight. But like Snake, I still use the Silver Sharpie and Micro Foil Adhesive 90% of the time.
  12. ..Maybe the rise of the "middle class" in China will affect model marketing decisions soon? It'd be fun to see how developing countries with newfound disposable income might make for a large-enough market to create the same thing that happened here in the 60's.
  13. Tamiya Paint Stand. You get two in the box, with the smaller spring-loaded. Just right for car bodies. Amazon has them.
  14. Note to Revell.. You made what I want, the review/preview is great, and I'll be buying two. Thanks!
  15. -I bet Samir was hoping for the ejection seat Bond had in his Aston..
  16. "Push the envelope.. Watch it bend.."
  17. Just need to slow down adding to the stash for awhile.
  18. Bill, just got mine and man is it well made. Other reviewers weren't kidding when they said the body rivals Tamiya's styrene.
  19. One major requirement for my bench is something strong enough for metal shaping with a hammer. I use small anvils and stuff can't be bouncing around on the desktop when I'm getting my hammer thang on.
  20. I used to be more A.R. about details that can't be seen, but done anyway. However, I've found too many builds where something left un-detailed or painted got through my final inspection before sealing everything up.. I err still on the caution side and detail most everything. It's still fun, anyway.
  21. Best skintones I've seen on a figure in a long time. Kudos!
  22. The website has been down for quite awhile.. Ist kaput?
  23. Just got my Baja VW from Replicas & Miniatures yesterday. Typical wait time for most resin stuff is usually several months. You nail'd it when you mentioned that most Garage Industries are just that. I'm real happy with the Bug kit and have four projects in front of it.. So, no hurry. Worth the wait.
