  1. I have some small sharp flat chisels for that kinda stuff. No sweat.
  2. Hiya Brad, you might like to know there's two car modeling clubs in the Phoenix/Valley. Moonlight Modelers and Cactus Car Modelers. Feel free to drop in sometime and meet the fellows. Chip
  3. The MPC Hogan's Jeep kit IS really flash-free though.. Hope you don't get into Jimmy Flintstone resin bodies if ya despise flash, amigo.
  4. Dragnet.. Loved the big cop cars...
  5. Back in high school days, I used to slide around Phoenix streetcorners in a bone-stock '71 Datsun pickup.. Too much Starsky & Hutch on TV....
  6. Illustration ink also comes in sepia.
  7. PM sent Joe. Thank you so very much! Chip
  8. I agree with Tom. That kit was exposed to some high heat sometime in it's storage days. Check for warped parts.
  9. Right now on the bench (as I shiver in the 80F weather) ... CJ-3 rockcrawler (big, Magnum Opus project) Mr Speed Stude, full-on salt flat car '72 Beetle, stock Ford van ambulance Ford "Ajo Police" SUV
  10. I'm working on my Bonneville Salt Flat 'Stude, and I wonder if anyone makes Southern California Timing Association decals. I'd also like to replicate the tech inspection seals. No luck finding pics of same though.
  11. I have the same problem too. I just gave up on 'em.
  12. Up in smoke, it's where my money goes......
  13. +1 on that technique. Use 1000 grit and wet sand thru to the rust-colored primer. Take your time.
  14. I would love to find a source to buy fine brass or steel screen, hopefully in different mesh and design patterns and maybe 6" or so long sheets. Need it or rock guards, intakes, etc. in 1/24 scale.
  15. Just bought "Craftsmart" white paint pen to replace my old Pentel. It's Michael's store brand. Fine tip and works good, so far.
  16. Replicas & Miniatures of Maryland sells a nice 1/25 Triumph. Photoetch spokes are very nice. Here's what you can make from just this one type of motorcycle.. Chopper Bobber Flat tracker (Short track, mile, TT or half-miler) Desert Sled Drag bike Café racer Road Racer...
  17. Bulldozer... a narcoleptic steer?
  18. Duplicolor, Plasti-Kote are good.
  19. Lol, Had both on my van and my sandrail!
  20. Flying Elvii....
  21. I came along in '56. Dad bought Mom a second car in 1960.. Funny, it was a '57 Fairlane. In Phoenix, you needed a car to get anywhere even back then. Dad was out hunting and fishing most every weekend, so Mom's car was a good idea.
  22. I take a small nail, shaft size just right for my Mini-Mite moto tool. Get some double-sided foam mounting tape and expose one sticky side. Place a strip of 220 grit wet/dry sandpaper on the tape, then using a dollar store paper punch, make some disks. Remove other sticky side on disc and stick to nail head. Now, go kill some ejector pin marks!
  23. Seeing this is one of the great pleasures I get from this site. Beautiful work, brings back memories.
  24. It's buildable, neat sand paddles on the rear, but the other tires are junk.
  25. Just bought the 1/20 Dune Buggy from Amazon last month..
