That is really nice work...I have not built a Mustang yet....You have built one of the best I've seen...Inspired and inspiring work...makes me feel like building that Boss 302 kit.....Some day.

This is a Revell "Fat Fendered " kit Built to look like a guys real car....I normally don't do this. But my friend ask me to build a replica of his car. In the back ground you can see pictures of the real car. One pic shows the back of the car, one a shot after the Hot Rod was first built...Then Jim decided to Give it a "Shave and a Hair Cut". He removed the bumpers, did a mod. on the tail lights, he also added a brake light....The kit came with a small block so I had to go to the "Junk Box" I found a 302 and rear ford rear end and leaf springs....Over time I found wheels tires, and lots of other parts to built a reasonable look a like. The real car is "Valley Ford Red" and "Dark Cherry".....I could not find exact matches....So I did my best .....Jim has not come to pick up his car. I will give a update.

Interior for the 66 GTO is done.....I was really planning on doing a "Plain Jane" interior Flat Black.....You know a "Spartan Muscle Car" area to sit and go fast. Then I looked at the instruction sheet, it called for gloss brown in the area next to the gauges..... So I figured we were simulating wood grain....I did the dash, wheel, door panels.....Then Jimi Hendrix came on the radio singing "Purple Haze".....Then all this happened....I think it "Picks up " the colors in the body.

Good work on the "Old Olds." My Dad had a 55 Buick Special"....I wish these 50s Olds and Buicks could be had in 1:25 and 1:24 th scale kits...The Resin ones are "Spendy"

Thanks for the kind words. Yes Mike you are correct, I do have a lot of projects going...I tell myself I need to stay busy while paint or glue dries....This was advice from the guy at the Hobby Store....Looking back I wonder if he said that to sell me more cars. Bruce and Kevin ask about my weathering. For "Road Grime" I use crafters stain. My Wife paints those plaster ornaments the "Antiquing Stain" Dry's flat and can be wiped off when wet so its workable. Bruce you are right about the Tamiya products...and acrylics can be thinned to make some good stains, grime, and washes. I try different things...That's why this such a great hobby we are constantly learning....I learn a lot from the "Builders" on this site. One of the guys Suggested "Sharpie" style markers, they work good, but dry fast...keep a sheet of paper handy because the ink stops flowing when you are coloring smooth surfaces...Writing on the paper seems to "Re prime" the Sharpie and you can continue on...I have also experimented with "Stamping" and "Calligraphy" inks some of these remain work able you can use your paint brush to work the ink into tight places, inks tend to remain "Translucent" so you can get some "Kool" effects over metallic surfaces...Thanks again for looking and your comments....As for the cars in the back ground some of them are builds that I have done in the past...like to enjoy them while I'm building.....Cars make a good back drop for Pics. of Project Cars.

The chasis is the Revell and the body is from AMT The 409 came from a Lindburg 61 SS Impala. The story is a 63 never left the factory with a 409...I always thought somone should....So I did.

You Are The Man...Like your choice of using the 56 body...Many think the best look'n of the 50s Ford trucks.

Your Van project brings back a lot of good memories....Dad had a 63 Econoline it was a Two Tone Red on the lower and white on the upper...Mom always called it "Dads real pretty van". I think the head lights are so cool. I had a 73 Dodge van, my Brother had a 74...Being a "Vanner" was a lot of fun...The post above mine talks about takin' your "Lady Friend" to the "Drive In" and if the movie's a drag...you could always close the rear doors and have one of those real "Social Naps" in the back. Yes Yes Yes....Good Times....You are building a "Slice of American'a Pie"....Great work Holmes.

It is a treat to see a "Kool Old Truck" like that....Rare here in Iowa.....I dig the "Rugged Look" Your build'n with. The "High Rise Manifold" is a "Bobby Dazler"....I hope I used that expression correctly.....It might be a dated term....I am "Kinda Old" -
Old Trucks some how make great tribute builds....I am enjoying this post and all the replys a lot...My "Old Junk Truck" is like that also...My Dads name was Marvin....His Pals knew him as Marv...He "Coined" the Term "Good Junk"....He liked cars and Models You know "Good Junk"....The Decals on that one were from a "Snap Fast" kit from our young Nephews collection.... Chris passed away from after a battle with testicular cancer at the age of 21...When I was telling one of my Pals about the "Built" and "Decal Sheet"....My friend ask "Are you ready to cut 'em up ?"....In my "Minds Eye" I could already see The "Marv's Junk" truck built.....some projects are like that..."Yea" was all I said.

Id Build like the Borne Idenity Car was it Orange?.....It would also be Stun'n Indigo Blue with a Cream Top....I would do a Foose Fade on lower body. After you shoot the Indigo, Mist on some Black "n" Blue Pearl, aim low for the "Rocker" area go lite....this works best if its subtle.....Takes away from the "Boxy'ness" of a short wheel base "Opticle Illushion".
