  1. I guess i should have held off on buying 2. Its a truck i knew i wanted to build and got worried i wouldn't be able to get one affordable, like the 1980 revell bronco
  2. I didn't realize its been so long. I would love to see the coke livery on it. I am not sure why i like them so much.
  3. I found on several sites the amt 1950 chevy pickup kit has been reduced to 19.99. Tower, horizon, a couple vendors on ebay, Does anyone know if its being discontinued. i messed up one of these kits and haven't finished one yet. I ordered 2 at the discount price in case it is discontinued. Once its discontinued im sure it will go up on ebay. https://www.towerhobbies.com/product/1-25-1950-chevy-pickup/AMT1076.html I dont work for any of these companies or get any kick backs on sales or anything. Im asking/sharing the info on the discount. Im also not a dr and i dont play one on tv
  4. I know this is a really old post, but i love this truck and have a question about the paint. I once painted with rustoleam enamel and it took days to dry. Did this take a long time to dry. Is this the same paint you used? https://www.amazon.com/Rust-Oleum-338884-Stops-Advanced-Almond/dp/B07GL9Y4WS/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=rustoleum+almond&qid=1617160871&sprefix=rustoleam+almond&sr=8-1
  5. when hobbico went bankrupt, horizon hobbies took over ownership. they focus on horizon products now.
  6. I found that using tamiya course compound applied using https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00HSCNVM2?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title Gives the perfect amount of rough surface without having scratching issues or losing detail issues. Basically I apply the compound with the pad, and let it dry for a few minutes and then wash it with dish soap and water with the bath tub faucet. The regular sink doesn't have enough water pressure. i suppose I could wipe it off with a rag but this is very fast clean up I have not tried other compounds to know if they will work.
  7. I have been looking for a nice truck like this for some time. I love the square trucks. they are my favorite style. My wife has been giving me grief saying we dont need one, but i really want one. I told her if i could find a nice one, i would sell my beetle and only keep the truck. I rarely drive anymore and having a car payment on the beetle is silly The closest i found in my area was an early 80s f100, but it was nowhere near as clean as this and he wanted 5k. This is much nicer
  8. Years and years and years ago i used to collect star wars figures. Sometimes i would get junk or quality that i didn't like for my collection. those i would just resell on ebay. Until i got burned. Someone bought the figure, only paid after i put in a non payment ticket. Once it was delivered, they put not as described ticket. PayPal didn't ask for proof or anything from me that it was exactly how it was described. He got the money back and he kept the figure. PayPal made my account negative and i just never used it again, leaving it in negative. they didn't take it from a bank or credit card. I stopped selling on ebay for a long long time after that. That was probably 20 years ago and i still never forgot it
  9. thanks again guys. i ordered it and it should arrive thursday
  10. Thanks guys. I will pick this one up I really like 50s style pickups and tried to build the amt 50 chevy 3500 but for the life of me i couldn't figure out how to get the engine in straight. it was sitting up on an angle. It looked funny and i went back through the instructions and could not find what i was doing wrong
  11. i saw that amt is coming out with a coke version of the 1953 ford pickup. is it an easy and good build or is it filled with issues and bad fitting pieces
  12. This is perfect. Which clear coat did you use to get that gloss? i will add this to my cart, and paint spoons to see which i like the best. i think this is great though. thank you for sharing this.
  13. @Snake45 i think that is the right color, or very, very close. i also like ts41. i will order both and see which looks better in person. thank you very much
  14. hmm. if this is as29, its not the color i thought it was, this looks gray. im looking for a mint green type color. this is what i saw online and thought it was mint green. this is the color im going for
  15. there is a dull tamiya paint, as29 which i think is really nice. however, its a dull color. what would be required to make it glossy for a car? Would a tamiya clear coat be enough?
  16. i didnt realize it was over seas
  17. what kind of truck is this? is it a scout?
  18. my neck is in pain because i slept funny and i tried to take some advil. as i took a sip of the sprite, i got a sensation to cough and i coughed a mouthful of sprite and advil onto the wall, onto my shirt, and who knows what else. probably would have been funny to watch i wiped off the wall, changed my shirt, but man, that was annoying
  19. Wow march 3rd and just getting it is really slow. I dont feel so bad now
  20. To be honest, I am just annoyed on this one because i really want to start this model this weekend. There was several of the same kit that were cheaper, but the seller was only 2 hours away. I wrongly assumed i would get it quickly assuming usps didn't screw up again. I never in my wildest dreams would have thought i wouldnt have it by now. Here it is 5 business days later and still not shipped. I decided to purchase another from a different seller and wouldn't you know, he shipped it already and it says it will arrive monday. I honestly don't mind buying another kit because it is definitely one i would build several times. One as a new car and one as a junker. Its not really a rare or expensive kit, so im fine with it. Im not going to start a different kit this weekend, so i guess I need to figure out how to keep myself occupied. Unfortunately I have no LHS near me anymore that sells car models so im limited to online. I know i sound like an impatient jerk, but honestly I think this is too long. I checked the description and there wasn't anything about long ship times
  21. Tickles helping with my f100
  22. I dont care for these types of cars but this looks awesome
  23. How long is the appropriate amount of time for something to be shipped on ebay. 3 days or less? 5 days? Not transit time, just the time to get it to the shipping company. I admit I am spoiled by Amazon and the 2 day shipping. I ordered something from Ebay on sunday, and it hasn't shipped yet and its now Thursday. According to ebay, it supposed to arrive by Monday, which at this point I dont see happening. I rarely sell, but when i do, i typically try to ship within 2 business days or less. How long is too long? At what point do you email asking whats up? Im just extta concerned because i have had something lost in transit recently and it has been 1 month with no movement and usps doesn't care
  24. So the 65 is rwd? Thats neat if it is. You dont see that too often. Many times the amt and revell have 4wd for all their trucks. I ordered the 65, because I have the model king 66 short bed on order from ebay. Im pretty siked for these to arrive. Thanks
  25. Is there a list of what is different with the 65 and 66 f100 from moebius Specifically what is the differences between these. Is the only difference that one is 65 and the other is 66. Even then, is the grill the only thing different? Are they the same engine, driveline, bed length. Etc. https://www.scalehobbyist.com/catagories/Model_Cars/1966-ford-f100-custom-cab-4x4/MOE00001236/product.php?s=0&t=11&u=7&pg=1&ppp=48&sb=stocknumber&so=a&man=MOE Vs https://www.scalehobbyist.com/catagories/Model_Cars/1965-ford-custom-cab-styleside-pickup-truck/MOE00001234/product.php?s=0&t=11&u=7&pg=1&ppp=48&sb=stocknumber&so=a&man=MOE
