  1. Thanks for the info. Went to a NNL show and swap meet . Picked up the AMT 5 window in a raffle drawing. Found a Monogram 3 window for $10. This will be a good start. Also picked up a Revell 32 3 window that someone had chopped the top on and all the parts were there and unassembled for $3. Thanks Jon
  2. I also have never heard of that combination. I use Tamiya Extra Thin with styrene melted in. (sprue glue) I have in the past used super glue and talic.
  3. Maybe the kit was miss-named. Should be "Vanishing Part"
  4. I have a Special Needs Grandson that is getting interested in building. WE have done two Snaps together, one 18 wheeler and one monster truck. Next in line will be the Testers Hot Metal series T Bucket with pre-painted body and the Maisto 69 Charger die cast pre-painted kit. That is the only Muscle Car kit that I am aware of but there may be more.
  5. Thanks , those are good guidelines for posting . I won't report a post for something minor like that, it's not the way I roll. Thanks for the reply
  6. I recently posted a question in the "general" forum that was moved. I fully understand why but I am unclear where the line is between the "general" forum and the "question" forum. I will admit that I do post questions in the "general" forum but my reasoning is that on the "question" forum I don't seem to get much response but if I place the same question on the "general" forum I get responses. I also have noticed that there are several other posts on the wrong forum, so. It seems to me that the knowledgeable members do not frequent the "question" forum as much as the "general" forum so they do not see the posts there. Now I am not complaining about the move but today I noticed several similar posts were also moved yet some that in my opinion should also be moved were not. So again, what determines if it stays or goes ? And yes I do I did read "For general model car hobby or 1:1 automotive related topics ONLY." (and yes I always do a search before asking) Start new topic Mark forum as read
  7. Thanks for the info. Big NNL swap meet next saturday. Gives me something to look for . Here is some more pics.
  8. Thinking about building this sometime in the future . What kit would be the best to start out with, the Monogram 1/24 or the Revell 1/25 ?
  9. Wasn't there one with a Maltese Cross ?
  10. Found these video's on Createx and Future a couple weeks ago. They are about 5 years old but give some good info on using Createx and other acrylics such as Apple Barrel. There is this intro video and 6 others on how to use the combo. If I remember right he did not recommend using Apple Barrell and similar paints because of their thickness you would need to reduce them so much that you will not have much pigment, but as some posts show here that may not be the case. Worth a look see.
  11. You might try using Future as a reducer . It was recommended to use it 50/50 with Createx but Apple Barrel may be thicker.
  12. I like them both but if I had to pick it would be the "Deuce". It seems that a big % of the A's use deuce frames and radiators shells anyway. There are "pure" A's and there are A's that want to be Deuces.
  13. I don't use the search feature here but I do use the pinned "How To Search" method and find it works very well. It may have deleted pictures but normally there is more information here that I would get if I asked the question on the forum. If I don't find my answer in the search I ask here.
  14. In the thread header it shows the date of the day that thread started. If you see an old thread that doesn't interest you , keep-on scrolling
  15. Yes but if we delete old threads then we won't need the "search" feature. Then we can have have a plethora of new threads asking the old questions over and over again. And when we do nobody can complain and post "TRY USING THE SEARCH FEATURE BEFORE YOU POST A QUESTION" . As for posting on "old" threads, well that's what they are here for
  16. Sounds like a inter-coat clear for masking. I will have to try some with my Autoair Colors/.
  17. Best info I could find was ,it was painted a putride purple and may have had shaved door and trunk handles.
  18. Just tried some for a gauge face on a dash, Applied some chrome from a Molotow pen , applied some Model master tint, then filled with a drop of future. Looks OK to me.
  19. Thanks , that's what I was looking for
  20. Anybody have any pics of the 57 Ford Interior kit Diamond Tuff ? Can't find any on the Fotki site that I have links to.
  21. Anybody off hand know the wire size for Replicas & Miniatures drilled distributors ? Thanks
  22. I had my 1mm tip dry up so I let it soak in some alcohol for a few minutes and it un-dried , worked great.
