  1. I am delving into Tuck and Roll interior and was thinking about using thread for piping. Would elmers be a good glue for that ? I need something that won't show on the thread when dry.

  3. Having worked for a Car Dealership (Chrysler/Plymouth) in the mid 70's I can say at that time not all dealerships worked that way. As an example we had a customer come in and ask for a rear main seal replacement as it was losing a lot of oil down the back side of the motor. Now this customer was a used car dealer that about a month earlier sold me a car that ended up having a cracked block and it was my lose. At our shop we discovered that the rear main seal was OK but the leakage was from the valve cover gaskets. While it was a good time for Karma to get pay back on the cracked block we replaced the valve cover gaskets and saved the customer money and time in the shop. That being said that is one reason I buy my tires at Discount Tire now instead of Les Schwab
  4. Thanks for posting. Boat is kinda cool. One of our local club members brought back about 500 pictures. I have only look at the first 100 so far but this one jumped out at me.
  5. Last time I talked with Charlies son the the car was in a museum in washington State. I don't remember which one possibly La May Car Museum or do I know if it is still there.
  6. Sounds cool .I will watch for it
  7. I believe the original Hot Rod Lincoln had a Lincoln frame also. Lincoln front bumper and it was black. . I planned on doing one sometime in the future and I have some research info on it. I will see if I can locate it you are interested.
  8. Not the "T" I was thinking of , but it will work
  9. It's like having to choose between chocolate and vanilla when you can have peanut butter cup
  10. Wondering what the "T" realy stands for ?
  11. I see some posts in the "General" section asking for advice that I feel should be in the Model Building Questions and Answer section. I may have done some myownself. But or me that's OK. It seems like you get more answers in the "General" section as more people read that than the "Question" section.
  12. Once my wifes cat jumped on my bench and knocked down a model that was just finished. I told my wife that the cat HAD to go.She said "if the cat goes so do I. I'm going to miss her.
  13. Checking farther , the Hot Rod article states he used a "Phaeton" another site states he used the front half of a Touring body. What is the difference between the Touring and the Phaeton? And most importantly does AMT's vintage Police Car have the divider behind the front seat?
  14. Actually now that I double checked, I believe both may need the Touring Body with he body work going behind the front seat. I know Norms was a Touring body cut off behind the front seat giving that flat look to the side. Not for sure on Tommys T. yet
  15. I have been using Auto Air for awhile. Just trying to see what I can do with it. One of the guys in my club has been diluting it with Future and getting a nice finish. I want to give that a try. I have used Future separately as a clear and gotten good results. I will let you know how it works out . Can't wait to see what the Candy Apple red looks like with iridescence
  16. Picked up some more paint to experiment with: Auto Air iridescent Candy Apple Red, AutoAir White Base,Auto Air Transparent Black (may try this over some decals for a ghost effect), Createx Opaque Black as a base coat and Createx Gloss Top Coat( see if this works better than the rattle can clears I have been using)
  17. Been waiting on finding a 22 Touring body for Norms T. Ivos needs a 25 Phaeton body.
  18. R&M does not list the Tweedy Kit in his 2017 Catalog (he just sent me) but he told me the W-8 Tire and Wheel set are the same as the ones in his kit.
  19. Lots of good closeup pictures and some info on the Meecum website. May have to use the prtsc button and paint to download them https://www.mecum.com/lots/FL0118-313114/1929-ford-hi-boy-roadster-pickup/
  20. Both a interesting vehicles. The Firebird III was on Leno's show and he drove it. It has a turbine engine in the back for power and another gas(?) engine in the front to operate the hydraulics. It's controlled by a joystick style handle. The Happy Days car has fake 4 pipe headers bolted to the side of the block and the flathead 3 pipe headers going down under the body.
  21. Ran across these while watching Leno's Garage and the Meecum Auction. Didn't see any kits for them and was wondering if anyone try building one up? Found the Happy Days Rod at the Meecum Acutions And the GM Firebird III concept car on Leno's Garage
  22. Mustang Fan Here. but I have a hard time seeing a Mustang in the 2019. All is see is Darth Vader ?? They seem to be putting them little wing things on the front corners just like most everybody else.
  23. Tanks I did notice in your RM list of parts it showed .010 x .080 piece of styrene. I assumed that was what it was for. Since I have the Tweedy II and the new release I will probably build the original flathead version and one of the later versions. Still trying to find the original style bias tires in big-n-little.
  24. I just picked up the new kit and it doesn't seem to include the chrome band going around the right side of the tank. Did you scratch build it or did it come in the RM kit?
