Walmart carries a few but they are online only since they stopped having them in the store. Other than that just doing every day shopping I don't think you would run across one I also have a Testers Hot Metal Model T kit with the pre-painted body that I have been considering for him. -

I have not worked with resin cast parts much but have a coil I purchased and the paint turned out funky. I did my usual soak in brake fluid routine. It wasn't in very long but when I removed it it didn't look much like a coil anymore. Is there something that will remove the paint without deteriorating the part ?

On my recent visit to the Goodwill As-is store I picked up a complete (all but instructions), un-built Monogram 1/32 Snap Tite Chevy Bison Semi Truck kit and a complete AMT 88 Daytona kit for $1.67 a lb. I have a grandson that is 12 and has a type of the autism syndrome. He has a very short attention span and spends most of his time with his electronic toys. He has shown a interest with building a model with me. We tried doing a Aluma Coupe but with only being at my place occasionally and the kits poor parts fit it didn't really get finished. Since he likes big trucks would the Bison kit be a good kit for him and I to build ? Are there any other kits that are suitable for a challenged kid to build ?

He seems to be known for his striping and art skills but I don't recall him being connected to any particular car build. I would think only connection would be in his art work. -
If I am going to be handling chrome parts a lot when mocking up a build I will coat it in Future to prevent the chrome fro rubbing off. Never has it dulled it.

All depends if you are a "builder" or a "collector". Ran across a fellow on a model trader facebook page. He had a tassel of models to sell. Most were ships and plane but there was a Jo-Han Roadrunner in the pile. I inquired it's condition and price shipped to me. He came back with complete and sealed ,$300 shipped. I gave it a quick "pass" as I am a builder, Maybe it would be worth it to me if I was a collector and desperately needed that for my collection

Funny that you mentioned that. Back in 67 we chopped up a 57 4dr hardtop with axes and hack saws for the scrap money. It was a a perfect car with all the trim (I think some was in a gold finish. I think it was red with a white top. No engine, tranny or title (I bought it for a penny from a guy at high school) so scrap it became. I still get a tear in my eye when I think about it.

What kits did you miss ?

I miss the $1.49 kits -
Just received my order from Calnaga Castings. I needed some Holly 4150 carbs and a couple coils. They arrived promptly and look great. He even threw in a set of Dominators as a bonus. Steve is a stand-up guy and no doubt that I will making future orders from him Thanks Steve

I have a problem...
Jon Haigwood replied to Lovefordgalaxie's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
When I'm done I'm done I often (most always) find something goofy on my finished build but just set it aside and keep that in mind for my future builds. Keeping them goofy reminds me to try and not repeat it in the future. Also gives me a visual reference on how quality of build improves. -
What do you think of this??
Jon Haigwood replied to gbdolfans's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Electric cars are not as great as they say. I have had several. They were as fast as heck and sporty but I was always dumping more money into them. Of course they were 1/10 scale RC, but they were more fun than a Smart Car -
