I will be using the Color Me Gone kit for my Dodge 330 build so that should give me one set of air cleaners and the grille. I will still need another set of air cleaners for my Plymouth build. The Dodge and Plymouth dog dish hubcaps should be the same in 64. I need two sets of these. I also need to pick up a Color Me Gone kit. Thanks

Looking for a aftermarket company that makes early 60's Mopar dod dish caps and air cleaners for the Cross Ram Dual 4brl used in the early 60's Hemi and Max Wedge 426 Also looking for a single headlight grille for the 64 Dodge 330 MW. (I found one but have since lost the link) Thanks

I am in the planning stages of building a 64 330 w/426 Max Wedge as to build a "sleeper" to match the car in the song "Little Old Lady From Pasadena" by the Beach Boys (originally by Jan & Dean). I will also be building a 64 Plymouth Belvedere Max wedge to go with it. I will be building these simultaneously. It's also fun for me to do the research on these cars and engines.

Which of the Linderg 64 Dodge 330 kits came with the 426 Max Wedge engine ? Is there any other kits that may have it or is it available somewhere else ? Also need the hood scoop for the 64 Dodge or Plymouth SS Thanks

I have been doing some research into this and I believe you are correct. All the major car companies got in on it. Chevrolet started with the 409, Pontiac had the 421 Super Dutys , Dodge and Plymouth started out with the 383 and 413 until a rule change in 1963 allowed them to got to the 426 Max Wedge. and Ford started with the 352, 390 then the 427 as did Mercury. I don't know if Dodge or Plymouth had a specific name for there cars as different models were used over the years but some of the Plymouths were referred to as the "Max Wedge" which may be only a reference to their engines. The first kit wouldn't give you the right hood but the 4 would all work

That would be the Beach Boys version. Which would make it either a 64 or 65 330

Well since the song came out in 64 the 65 Coronet Super Stock is out. That would leave your choice of either a 61-62 Dart , 63 330 or the 64 Coronet. There may be others , I am still researching them

Maybe also use the Vette for "Dead Mans Curve" of course you would need another XKE

61 and 62 were the only years for the SS Dodge Dart. But in my book and since I would be doing myself a 64 would work very well , then I could even use for "The Little Old Lady from Pasadena" . For the Vette if a few Guys ran Hilborns on street cars , go for it

I thought about doing a"Shut Down" finding a 62 Dart would be a bit on the spendy side.

I would probably go with 59 big fin Caddy. Lots of those available. The XKE was also mentioned but those might be a bit harder to find.

Yeah I thought about that one. Maybe a 60's vintage Cobra road course car on trailer behind a Caddy. And maybe a Corvette in race form to set next to it.

A build that I always have wanted to do was Charlie Ryans "Hot Rod Lincoln" I think it is doable with whats available. I have researched the car somewhat and have gathered a few photos (if I can find them). At one time I talked with Charlies son and found out the the car was originally black so that is the way I will build it. I was planning on going up to Spokane to see and photograph the car where it was displayed in a Spokane Museum but it was sold a few years back and is somewhere else. My apologies if this has come up before (yes I did a search) but are there any builds out there of cars featured in songs such as "Lil Deuce Coupe", "455 Rocket" ,"409", "Rocket 88" or even maybe Jan and Deans "Shlock Rod". Maybe even a diorama of the Dead Mans Curve Race . If there is lets see them.

What I have is a AMT Daytona Charger kit minus the body, nose and wing (may have been used as a slot car body back in the day). The rest of the kit is there including a 500 grille. My plan is to build a 500 from the kit rather than using it for parts. The 69 Charger 500 was designed for NASCAR use and like the Daytona has the smooth rear window. What I am trying to locate is a body with that window. I could buy another Daytona kit but that would not be using my kit I have now. Most other 69 Daytona kits including the DOH have the "tunnel" rear window which is not correct for the 500. There have been some Funny Car and Slot car bodies on Ebay with the correct back window and I was curious if they would work with the AMT Daytona kit.

Not to jump this post but I am looking for a 69 Charger 500 body donor. I am not sure if the funny car body would work (probably not) but was wondering if the Slot car body would work ?

A Revell Super Cobra jet may be a option. It has the right body , wrong hood and its 1/25th so the 429 should fit.

As far as the body is concerned the only difference I see is the hood scoop. There are different engine/tranny options on them thou.

The Deuce kit came with a set . Found an original issue kit at a Goodwill. Most of the car was gone but still had some parts, decals and instructions. Used the fenders on a project
