My printer is an Epson XP-400 and as far as I know, there is no "scaling feature". Steve -
Sizing Images for Decals
StevenGuthmiller replied to StevenGuthmiller's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Actually, I played around with it and got it to about the right size, but my printer sucks!!!! I set the printer for the best quality that was possible, and all I got was a multicolored smudge! Any ideas? Is there anyone out there that can print it for me? Steve -
Ok all of you computer whizzes and decal masters, how do I go about sizing one of these images for 1/25th scale? Steve

The '60 Dodge is a great find! Not easy to to find, or cheap. And it looks like it's in great shape! Steve

Just another Mercury model/trim package. No different than a Cadillac Eldorado or an Edsel Citation. Steve

This is what I have. A really excellent built kit that stripped nicely. It is heavily stained from the red paint, but the Super Clean did it's overnight work and it's squeaky clean now. I have all of the stock parts including tail light lenses, a good hood badge and hood spears, although one of them will require a tip to be repaired. The chrome finish on the bumpers is in fair condition, but I'm thinking that I will likely paint them white anyway. The other inquiry that I have is a suitable stock engine swap. Would the stock engine from the newer AMT 1960 Ford Starliner kit be correct, or is there something else better? Possibly the '58 Edsel? Or better yet, is there a good Ford 6 banger around anywhere? I'm really thinking that this will be my next project after I finish my '65 Fury. Steve

Yeah, that was my fear. There aren't many modern Ford truck kits from around this era. I was thinking possibly a '56 Ford chassis or something, but that would be a short wheel base and would need stretching. Possibly the Moebius '66 Ford when it hits the shelves, but even there, I'm not certain if it was the same configuration as 1960. I'm guessing not. Steve

Very nice work Al!!! It's glad to see this old dog back up on it's wheels! I never really thought that this one was ever going to be built after sitting on my shelf for all of those years. Great save!! Steve

Is this your fathers Oldsmobile?

I think a lengthy jail sentence might be appropriate for a crime like this. Steve -
Drop it in Super Clean. It will take it all off, paint and foil. Steve

Thank you so much everyone! I'm glad that you all like it. It's one of those "holy grail" kits to me, and a lot of others. Steve -
'65 Fury. Back on the Bench.
StevenGuthmiller replied to StevenGuthmiller's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I started looking at the badge on the door panel which I had originally thought that I would leave alone and possibly lightly scribe around to make it more prominent. But as I considered it, I realized that it was really too faint to do much with, so the decision was made to replace it. I may sand it down a tad to make it a little less prominent. I also added a chrome strip across the top of the panel, so at this point, it should be basically ready for primer. Now I really wish that the other side was done! Steve -

Probably a wasted detail that will never be seen, but it took me all of 30 seconds to do, so I thought, why not? Steve -
That's a good looking Chevy Peter! Steve

I assume that you are talking about the area circled in blue. I actually thought about extending the seat cushion to the door panel in this area, but upon reflection, I decided that it really wasn't worth the effort. By the time the arm rest is installed, pretty much directly above it, it will not be very noticeable. At some point you have to learn to pick your battles. Steve -
That's pretty Peter! Excellent work! Steve

Restoring windshields

I polish old kit glass all of the time. When you deal with as much vintage plastic as I do, it's a must. I just polish it as I would any paint job. Micro-Mesh pads and Novus polish with a little bit of Turtle Wax scratch and swirl remover at the end. Steve -
will it work AMT chassis over MPC body ?
StevenGuthmiller replied to Mr mopar's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I haven't tried it, but if they are the same scale, I would say that it's highly likely that they will fit together. Might be some slight mods needed though. Steve
