  1. Have to agree with you Harry on The Kinks and would have to include Yes. Have seen them both in concert 30 + years ago and are among my favorite concerts of nearly 100 different acts I have seen.
  2. Is anybody aware of a set of resin 4wd Dually wheels (16")? I checked with Scenes Unlimited and did not see 4wd dually wheels, but could have sworn I saw a set somewhere. TIA
  3. Had traded messages with Dave at Moebius a week or two ago and he said these should be in the states by early June! I will be ordering a couple of them for sure. I was messing around with one of the 69 short beds tonight and discovered that the wrecker bed from the Revell Midnite Cowboy kit fits the wheel base perfectly and looks right at home. Just have to get with Danny at Scenes Unlimited for some dually wheels and tires!
  4. The Fiero had the 2.8 V6 which IIRC was a 60 degree engine design while the 3.8 V6 is a 90 degree engine design (think small block V8 minus 2 cylinders) and would differ in appearance slightly in scale. A closer match might be the 4.3 V6 from the Revell S10 kit, but that kit would be fuel injected. Might be time for someone to cast a 3.8 V6 !
  5. The Buick Grand National kit has a V-6; there is also the V-6 from the Revell El Camino kits ('78?).
  6. Last time I was in they hadn't marked the shelves for any new kits, so it could be awhile before/if they show up there. You can always ask someone in the department if they plan on carrying them. I suspect there will be a re-set of the model aisle soon and that is when the planogram changes for models.
  7. Nice save on an old kit. Not to be critical, but from my perspective that bed looks over sized compared to the cab. Not sure if you can cut it down a bit to be closer in scale to the cab. And I am sure you realized that the bed is from a '90's model Dodge and has slightly different body lines than that '70's model GM truck.
  8. Let's see, I was born three days before the calendar turned to 1964, so technically I would be looking at '63 models, correct? A 63 Split Window Corvette would be nice but not practical; a Nova wagon would be more practical and potentially fun; a 4WD Suburban or K20 pickup would not be very comfortable but definitely rugged. In the end, probably a 409 powered Impala as it would satisfy most requirements.
  9. That came out nice! Those Revell snap kits can build up real nice, about half of my completed builds are snappers! It's a lot more fun painting and assembling a snap kit than it is to try and do a full detail glue kit, at least for me!
  10. I will be digging out my catalog and getting what will be my final order to them. Unless they find a buyer, they will have to stop taking orders this summer to allow them enough time to ship everything and retire next year.
  11. Mrs. Ben Stiller, Christine Taylor
  12. Annette O'Toole.
  13. Not all of us have a LHS Harry, so we have to use Hobby Lobby as a source. I haven't bought a kit at a LHS in over a year, but online and places like Hobby Lobby, Michaels, A.C. Moore and some closeouts at Ollie's have been my go to places. I don't see anyone opening a LHS here in Charlotte anytime soon, given that 2 HobbyTown USA's closed within the last year.
  14. Also should mention that I was about 5 when Hot Wheels came to the market. I had already been collecting and playing with Matchbox cars when Hot Wheels came out and at one point I had over 200 of them! I am the youngest of 4 kids and I was lucky that my oldest brother and sister would buy them for me when I was young, often to keep me quiet when they had to watch me! I still have my Hot Wheels tracks, wish I still had my Sizzlers race cars and Aurora HO slot car track.
  15. I still have several of mine from when I was young. A Winnebago motor home, a wrecker and a Jeepster and boat/trailer combo. I had countless others that were left outside and rusted, but have fond memories of digging the backyard and playing for hours with friends with mine!
  16. Welcome back and that is looking very nice!
  17. They are still available, just go to the Modelroundup and you will see them.
  18. Donna Pinciotti from That '70's Show, otherwise known as Laura Prepon.
  19. Modelroundup has them, reasonably priced, and they have outstanding service.
  20. very nice rendition of the Nova! Clean and well detailed,
  21. Kinda late for your April Fools aren't ya Harry?
  22. The Chevy short bed kits (sportside and SS454) from AMT that depict late 80's/early 90's models will fit on the snap fast '96 Chevy Tahoe chassis giving you a 4wd chassis. The downside is that the truck has to be built curbside unless you carefully carve out the molded in engine/trans from the Tahoe chassis.
  23. Michelle Peiffer?
  24. To Greg's original post, my buying decisions back in the '70's were predicated on what was on the shelf at stores. The good news was back then one could find kits almost everywhere, unlike today. And as others have mentioned, despite cheap prices for kits, being a young kid didn't translate into having a lot of money for models. I mowed grass and raked leaves, shoveled snow and whatever else I could do to make money for a kit. Today, with magazines, internet, shows and more disposable income, I have become a more informed buyer, and to my wife's dismay, a bigger hoarder!
  25. That paint looks great! Nice job and I agree that it is one of the best done recently by Revell.
