  1. You have to get out more Harry. Don't you watch any news, either online or TV? There have been actors, musicians, athletes and others.
  2. Wow! Incredible! Stunning! That is one verrrrrry nice truck Mike! Followed that build and the end result is out of this world.
  3. The winners haven't come forward yet, probably doing some financial planning and getting new phone numbers. Sure hope they get a chance to enjoy their new found wealth.
  4. Yeah, what he said! Those are looking great, I like the idea of gluing the rear hatch window and tail gate.
  5. Geez Glenn, with luck like that, I sure hope you played the Powerball last night!
  6. All my dreaming is out the window, only had the Powerball on one ticket. Just hope at least of the three winners is a forum member and they get their dreams fulfilled.
  7. That is one great looking model. Nicely detailed, perfect paint and if I didn't know any better, I'd say it was the real thing!
  8. I would have a series of 67-72 GM trucks done- pickup, Blazer and Suburban in all variations that would replace the old dated AMT kits. Would make me happy and no doubt be a good seller for the model company.
  9. Just noticed that Tower Hobbies is showing this as back in stock. They must have fixed whatever was wrong, hopefully everyone who had bought one got their replacement parts.
  10. maybe after a few of you "lose control" they will re-think that policy.
  11. That is absolutely beautiful and I sure wish someone would offer that bed in resin or better yet, a complete kit like that! My opinion? Leave the push bar and roll bar off, it looks just fine without either one.
  12. Welcome! This is a great place to learn and share. There is a show next Saturday in Spartanburg that I would suggest you attend. There is a great model club (SCMA) and there will be a lot of models on display along with vendors to buy kits and parts from.
  13. I am a sucker for Camaros and this one is a nice replica of the one that started it all for me!
  14. Nice! I have one to finish, similar color. Very well detailed.
  15. there is a show in August that is a pretty good one, west of Winston Salem. Outside of that, there aren't a whole lot. There are some in SC. Check the Contest and Shows section for updates and coming events.
  16. Well, I personally would like to see a series of kits of the following: 67-72 GM Pickups as well as a Blazer and Suburban. I know the AMT kits are out there but they are tired. I would like to see shortbed and longbed pickups in both 2wd and 4wd, same with the Blazer and Suburban. 73-87 GM Pickups, Blazer and Suburban- see above 73-90 Dodge Pickup- again like the GMs, short and long beds with 2 & 4wd drivetrain options. 70-75 IH Pickup and Travellall kits, 2 & 4wd option 66-77 Ford Bronco kit 66-70 IH Scout Modern commercial beds for 1 ton trucks- wrecker bed, dump bed Modern Medium Duty truck with frame length options to build a dump, flatbed wrecker, wheellift wrecker I would push for accuracy with all of them, I would hate to compromise or tool up the rarely seen vehicle (like the current 79 Ford pickup or another LRE). If I was successful in getting The Modelhaus, I would look to add some resin truck pieces to their offering.
  17. Mine is simple. I would do the obvious (take care of family etc) but then I would look into what it would take to keep The Modelhaus in business. After that, maybe fund a couple of kits to be developed. I would consider opening a hobby shop (gonna need a tax write off!) that caters to model building and maybe trains but NO R/C. The type of place that stocks a bunch of kits and has all kinds of supplies and would have a room for builders that needed a spray booth so they could paint year round. I would also look for a piece of property to erect my barn for my soon to be awesome 1:1 car collection and talk to a couple of friends about commissioning them to find and build a couple of cars and trucks. I would concentrate on enjoying life and having fun, something winning even a share of the $900 million should provide.
  18. Was there not a complete kit of this? Do a search and I think you will find a kit, complete with decals.
  19. Went to Hobby Lobby yesterday with the intention of buying something, and walked out empty handed. Not the first time that has happened, but like others have stated, NOTHING screamed "Buy Me!" . I have plenty to build and really don't need another model as I have all of the ones I want, but still look and it's hard to pass up a bargain! I will continue to sell off those kits that were impulse buys and concentrate on the kits I really want to build and finish. I am realizing that I need to reduce what I have and build what is left. Not much on the "New for 2016" lists that have me excited, so who knows if I will buy much this year. I do know that I will be completing more models, I have gotten that feeling of accomplishment back when I get something done, it had been missing for a while.
  20. What a fantastic idea and well executed design! I have yet to move beyond spray cans and a make shift plywood spray booth in the unheated garage. I have vowed to buy a spray booth (Tower Hobbies has the Paasche on sale) but a lack of a job right now is curtailing my hobby spending. While I would love to have a set up like yours, I doubt that will happen unless that lottery ticket I bought yesterday gets me the $800 million dollars ( or a nice share of it)!
  21. Welcome Stan, I am in Charlotte and am temporarily out of work so I have been trying to get some stuff finished that has been on the workbench a while. Be sure to use the Hobby Lobby coupon, it is a real saver. You can only use one per visit, so plan accordingly. Also check their clearance section, many times they have models there already marked down. If you are up for a drive, there is a great swap meet in Salisbury next month, check the show section here for details. It has a lot of models for sale, old and new, and it's a great way to find some kits at great prices! Not sure that there are many hobby shops out your way, you may also want to check out some online vendors for stuff not carried at Hobby Lobby. Have fun!
  22. my sentiments exactly! I am always amazed at your work Charlie!
  23. I see both sides Harry. I agree that any more than 10 or 20 is probably considered "hoarding" but some of us might decide that collecting a bunch of particular kits in the hopes of someday building them is justified. I was one of those people, and at one time had over 400 kits. I have since seen the light and have been thinning my collection and stash to the point where I still have a ways to go but am feeling better about my "problem".
  24. I probably won't be picking this kit up (not of interest to me) but I do appreciate you taking the time Bill to show how to fix some problems with the kit to make it more realistic and correct. Your comment about treating sub assemblies of kit parts and details to ensure a nice result is something we all need to heed. Thanks again!
  25. That is one nice looking model and the details look great. Love the colors.
