What's Coming in 2016?
mikemodeler replied to Casey's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
If that is true, I better dig the couple I have in my stash out and get them on eBay, I'd hate to miss out on getting obscene money for them! -
Best 70-73 Camaro kits

There are various vendors with parts for 70-73 Camaros, who to contact will depend on what you are searching for. -
What's Coming in 2016?
mikemodeler replied to Casey's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I see some kits on that list Casey that I would buy, hope you are fairly accurate. I would add that Revell could likely give us another version of a first generation Camaro based on their recent issue. Maybe a '68? -
Nick, Glad to see you back here, hope you have some builds to share!

Yep, great trade all around. Also have a trade going with Mackvision, will see the kits when I get home but not anticipating any issues.

I suggest that you order from Missing Link. There will be less drama, better service and greater overall happiness.

Sorry to break this to you Tom, but if you use the search feature on this forum you will see several topics of where people have had difficulties dealing with Perry's Resin. If someone wants to place an order, I would be interested in hearing how that experience goes, as it would back up Tom's claim that a good business name is being tarnished if all goes well.

Thanks for the explanation Tom, but there have been members here who placed orders and either didn't get them or it took many months for the product to arrive. You mentioned that you have several of his kits, ALL BOUGHT IN PERSON AT SHOWS, which is quite different than placing an order via website. The resin business is a funny one, some companies come and go like the seasons and others hang around for a long time. You mention The Modelhaus and R and M of Maryland and I would say those companies have earned their excellent reputation because of the way they conduct business and I have seen some newer resin casters trying to emulate them. If Randy is truly focused on his brick and mortar store and cannot run his website and resin casting company parallel to the hobby shop, then he should take them down and avoid all of the confusion. And to clarify, I have wanted to buy some things from Perry's, but have stayed away from them as I read other's stories about their dealings.

First Generation Camaro Z/28's 1967, 1968 and 1969
mikemodeler replied to RandyB.'s topic in Model Cars
Those are very nice, great color choices and cleanly built! -
A Pair of Second Generation Camaro Z/28's 1970 and 1974
mikemodeler replied to RandyB.'s topic in Model Cars
Nice job on those two. I remember seeing a '74 when they first came out and thought "There's no mistaking that as a Z-28 with those stripes!" -
Best 70-73 Camaro kits
mikemodeler replied to aurfalien's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
There was a kit of the '73 issued back in '73, might be a little pricey to find today. AMT has a 70 1/2 Camaro kit that is more readily available and can probably pass as the car your wife had. I think if you look in the trading post section there are a couple up for trade, might be able to get one cheap. The AMT kits build up okay, just avoid some of the earlier issues as they had some warped bodies. -
I'm not a tax attorney nor did I stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, but I think Nick was trying to say that if a foreign company is physically in the United States, the IRS will try to ensure they collect and pay taxes on their sales. Perry's Resin probably avoided the show because of the number of irate customers, with the taxes being a secondary reason.

Happy Birthday Tom, hope you had a great day!

Most auto parts stores have a paint section and I know NAPA has a can of Dupli Color in Gloss, Semi Gloss and Flat Black Lacquer. Pretty reasonable, about $5-6 a can and will last awhile.

Take a moment, for remembrance and reflection.
mikemodeler replied to Petetrucker07's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Had the day off yesterday and I spend a couple of hours watching TV and coverage of the events. In watching MSNBC, they replayed The Today Show from 9/11/01 and it was chilling to re-live that again. Fox News had coverage of the moments of silence as well as the reading of the names. Still hard to watch and fathom 14 years later. My daughter and her Marine Corps JROTC unit had the distinction of serving as the color guard at a memorial event here in Charlotte yesterday. She and her fellow cadets weren't even school age at the time of the attack but they were fully aware of what happened that day, something her JROTC instructors have made sure they all understand. The lives lost that day and since, should serve as a reminder that freedom isn't free. -
That is a nice looking truck! Great colors and well detailed.

Watched this show as child and never missed an episode. A few years ago, there was a channel here in Charlotte that showed EVERY episode from the beginning to the end and I watched them with my kids and they thought it was funny. Martin Milner married a woman from the town I grew up in and every once in awhile they would come back to town and when they did, the newspaper made sure to let us know Marty was in town! RIP, thanks for the memories.
