  1. So the totally wrong chassis & lousy wheels and tires and it looks nice? C'mon, that truck, like all of the other Monogram small pickups from the 70's were poorly done and no where close to accurate. Much like the Street Machine pickup, Midnite Cowboy wrecker and others, some serious liberties were taken to crank out models that many give a pass to because "they look nice". For as much kibitzing as some people do about kits and accuracy, there's a lot of Revell and Monogram stuff that is flat out WRONG but because of the subject matter are forgiven? Sorry, ain't buying it.
  2. Well, Revell actually hasn't bought up a lot of model companies over the years, although they did merge with Monogram. The history of the model companies is quite interesting and there are others who know it and have followed it more closely than I have. Brian pretty much explained that there were two totally different kits from two different companies, not sure what the confusion was. That kit you have is actually cartoonish when it comes to the truck, the only redeeming quality it has are the bikes and trailer.
  3. Sorry but you are wrong. The 'Lil Hustler" is an old MPC tool, which is now owned by Round2. The kit you have is a Revell/Monogram tool, and that was NEVER shared between MPC/AMT/Round 2 and Revell/Monogram.
  4. All but the F-350 Wrecker have been released, so most of the remaining kits seem to be cars. It will be interesting to see what else they can squeeze out of the tooling they have.
  5. Shell owns Pennzoil, very slight difference in the colors.
  6. Welcome Frank! I have purchased your products and have to say they are very nice. The service was fast and products arrived in excellent condition.
  7. You need to message Kris and ask him if he has any in stock or has to cast them. You can PM him here, as that is what I did. I got one right after Christmas so I would say yes, he still offers them. What I didn't show was he also includes the correct hood, chrome front bumper and grille and a bench seat. ( Hey Round2, you hear that? A bench seat!) The kit was either $70 or $75 plus shipping.
  8. A wide variety of tires available here : https://www.modelhaustires.com/
  9. MAD ( Morgan Auto Detail) offers a really nice resin 78 Scottdale long bed pickup trans kit. The MPC 84 GMC Deserter kit is the donor chassis, just need to lengthen the frame a bit for it to work. Given the popularity of the square bodies, truly surprised none of the kit companies have managed to re-work some of their existing kits to fill that void. Here's the MAD kit:
  10. Wes at Wes's Model Car Corner should have that PullDozer and Silverado in stock by early next week. He mentioned them last night in his weekly show.
  11. Yes, yes I am.
  12. I'm sure Niteowl has the story, he seems to know "inside" information about the workings of the model companies.
  13. Seeing the two "new" AMT 90's Chevy pickup kits coming, wonder if anyone else would be in for a work truck/base model grille for them? Once upon a time Jim Amato at Uptown Automotive cast a 3500HD conversion that had the base grille. He sold the masters to Jeff Ballard at MCRC and it's been documented here that Jeff is way behind in orders so with these kits coming out, great opportunity to bring the grille back, maybe even the conversion kit.
  14. Welcome, I'm down in Charlotte and am a transplant as well. Are you familiar with the upcoming swap meet in Salisbury on 2/18? There's also a show/swap meet coming up in April (I think) in the Statesville area.
  15. I am sure we are in for multiple versions of these kits, the curbsides are likely cheaper to produce and if sales are strong, they will tool up the engines to offer them as full detail. The dually kit was always curbside, at least this time we will have the option of adding an engine of our choice.
  16. Something like this? https://www.fabresinworks.com/newstore2020/product/1-25th-1967-camaro-hideaway-front-grill/
  17. NASCAR has become as predictable as WWE and half the ball sports. I got tired of the way too long yellow laps last night and watched Highway Thru H3ll instead.
  18. While I totally agree with you, it wasn't that many years ago we had to wait for a kit to show up at the hobby shop before we could decide to buy it. And the magazine reviews were always a few months behind due to lead times. I've seen Chad at the MCACN show in Rosemont IL, not sure how much of a "car guy" or modeler he is, especially based on his videos.
  19. This is a handy reference tool. http://www.73-87.com/7387info/7387trimlev.htm
  20. That pickup kit is nothing to get excited about. Very basic kit, inaccurate chassis and poor details.
  21. That was the case for GM pickup trucks starting in 81.
  22. Uh, no. Those are short beds. No one has kitted a long bed square body 73-87 GM pickup. Morgan Auto Detail offers both a long bed in resin for the MPC Deserter as well as an excellent 77 Chevy pickup kit complete with side trim and bench seat, mastered by Tom Ellifrit (Repstock here on the forum). It has been mentioned here that Round2 plans to offer different versions of the Sod Buster (likely grille and bed difference) over time and we can hope that might include the opportunity to build it as a 2wd truck.
  23. That looks really nice, great choice of colors. It surprises me that none of the resin casters have stepped up and offered stock front ends for this kit to build 78-87 model years.
  24. I have two to build and have some ideas but I think one will be bone stock. What color/brand is that blue, it looks pretty close to factory.
