Olson Bros. resin parts - update on Chris
mikemodeler replied to gui_tarzan's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Thanks Jim, hope Chris can either get back to where he needs to be or decides to shut down the business. It would be a shame to lose another resin vendor but more important for him to be healthy. -
Resin Parts suppliers that have closed?
mikemodeler replied to Oldmopars's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Chris Holthaus was casting the tires for a long time for Don and Carol. Once they finally retired and closed the business, he opened Modelhaus tires. All he offers is the product listed on his website. -

Another beauty Chuck! Surprised there isn't more rust and rot, definitely weathered and dig those different colored panels. -
SCMA Show & Contest Spartanburg SC January 21st,2023

All right, who all is going to this event? Supposed to be clear and warm(ish) so no excuses! I'll be there, selling off some old kits. -
Fireball Modelworks still in business' ?
mikemodeler replied to Jon Haigwood's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Yep, he mentioned the same thing to me. I think between that car accident on NYE 2021, Covid and the steady stream of orders, he hasn't been able to catch up. My order took about a month from when I placed it to when I got it and that included the holidays, so no complaints from me. From what he teased, he has some cool stuff coming for the reissued 78 Bronco but he didn't say exactly what. -

I don't believe that Olson Bros is closed, although Chris has been absent from the business for a few months. Hope that he gets things sorted out and is able to get back to his old self and crank out some product. I think the thing to remember about resin stuff is that if you see something you like, buy it if you can because this thread has shown, there have been some great companies that have gone out of business. -
Thanks Al, I am set, already have a donor S-10!

Another awesome build, the scratchbuilding you do and make seem so easy is incredible! -
I have two of the MPC kits to build someday, one will get the turbo 4.3 V-6 and AWD drivetrain out of the Revell S-10 pickup kit that is out right now.

That is the color it came as a promo, dark camel. My best friend from childhood had one just like that, minus the flames and wheels, in high school!
-
So I got this promo cheap in a deal on eBay over the holidays and like the one I did previously, this was a quick wheel and graphics update.
-
Been on a Promo buying spree, have to stop myself from venturing on to eBay for awhile. I picked up this gem, probably will leave it in the box and not mess with it.

Joseph is still very much in business. He is extremely busy and takes a bit to reply. I placed an order on December 3rd and received it on January 10. He will get back to you with order total and an estimate of when you will get your order. -

From the Stevens International website, under Revell: REVELL GERMANY RVL-39628 150ml Acrylic Chrome Spray $34.99 Out Of Stock -
This is really a win-win for the hobby and Danny. He gets to enjoy retirement and get his health back without the stress of trying to get orders completed and ST Supply gets a great product to offer us modelers. I have a ton of product from Danny and will be a customer of ST Supply as I have more builds planned.

This might help you, might not. I agree that taking orders without shipping or communicating is wrong, but until Chris speaks up or delivers, none of us can say what's the hold up. -
SCMA Show & Contest Spartanburg SC January 21st,2023
mikemodeler replied to VW93's topic in Contests and Shows
Yes, 299 Church Street, Spartanburg SC. It's at the Marriott Hotel, beautiful venue and is a great show! I will be there with some excess inventory to sell off, be sure to stop and spend some money! -
Considering Revell has been a few months behind on many releases recently, it could be 2024 before that C8 shows up, just in time for the refresh by Chevrolet.
-
You would have to ask them, not sure.
-
Sounds like a great business plan. I have yet to buy kits from those three listed places, I tend to spend either on eBay, FB model pages, internet hobby shops or in person swap meets. You'd think he would be better off setting up an account with a hobby distributor but what do I know?

Amt 1302 65 chevelle Awb
mikemodeler replied to 66c10's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
From their Facebook page................... AMT AWB AMT ’65 CHEVELLE – TIME MACHINE FUNNY CAR (1:25 SCALE) The Altered Wheel-base Chevelle returns with new tooling from AMT! This upcoming kit is a recreation of the original ’65 Chevelle AWB Time Machine Funny Car with improvements made along the way. A highly-requested kit, this dragster has been begging to be brought back for years, but the original tooling had been modified beyond return. We’ve gone through the process to create all new tooling from the ground up. We’ve also added black vinyl tires, and an expanded decal sheet! Due Mid-Year 2023. #AMT1302
