  1. Which is why I am a former subscriber.
  2. That is a nice looking engine Jeff, is that a floating alternator I see?
  3. The recently re-issued 66 Mustang builds up nicely and while not a Muscle car like a big block Chevy/Ford/Mopar, it was the beginning of the muscle car era.
  4. A lot probably depends on if there are licensing fees involved. Depending on whether or not this is an all new tire and size would also have some impact on the cost- modifying a mold versus creating a complete new mold.
  5. It was my attempt at a subtle warning to others. I have only bought his product at a show and feel that way about many resin vendors as it is a great way to examine the item before spending the cash.
  6. There will always be some good with the bad Michael. The ones you have listed are decent kits (and in some cases the only game in town) but your best bet would be to list YOUR top 10 cars you want to build and then ask for help in finding the best kits available to satisfy your needs. For example, Revell has the better of the 69 Camaro kits available and for accuracy, the Monogram and AMT kits for that model should be avoided.
  7. Says the man who got his issue a week or more before some of the other subscribers. I see nothing wrong with stating dissatisfaction with a service they paid for.
  8. Got one of those from Jimmy Flintstone, got to get it done one day soon!
  9. Have you checked with The Modelhaus or MCW ? That would be my first two stops for a quality kit.
  10. Interesting.......IIRC he left a few people waiting for orders last year, wonder if he made good on the deal? I bought some of his 4x4 conversion parts at a show, nice stuff.
  11. John, He is looking for a kit and posted in three different sections, over the span of several days, looking for it. It was responded to by myself and others stating a kit did not exist and he would have to find a 2 door and convert it.
  12. Nice car but realistically, what do you do with a car like that? Most of us would want to drive it but where? I have been watching a show on Velocity Channel called Graveyard Carz about a shop in Oregon that restores old Mopars and while that white/no graphics is clean, they had a triple black Cuda that I felt was a great looking car.
  13. I think AaronW had posted a model he built of a Forest Service truck, a 64 4x4 with toolboxes on the bed. Not sure if the pictures are on here somewhere but hopefully Aaron sees this and responds.
  14. check out MCW's website, they have paint codes for all types of OE paint. Are you able to get Testors paint in the UK? If so, they have a Chevy engine orange paint in enamel and acrylic jar paint.
  15. Irv posted his 69 that he was restoring, do not know if he has a 73-77 body style but that is what would be needed to be accurate for Jeff's purposes.
  16. James, The Dupli Color paints sold at Advance are sprays that you would use to touch up a paint job on a 1:1 car or truck. Only solid colors would be color sanded as a metallic paint would lose it's metallic pigments if you were to sand it before clearing. Be sure to pick up colors and clears, along with their primers. They are very compatible to model plastic.
  17. Brad, You are right in that trust is earned but it also requires patience to earn it. I have been here a long time, among the first 100 or so members of this forum, but if we haven't traded before, you and I have to decide if we want to trade, this earning each other's "trust". Many members here, myself included, have seen people come on here and start asking for trades and free stuff from day one, and in my humble opinion, that is not how you build trust. We all have needs and wants, but to come on here and expect others to trust you on day one is asking a lot. Factor in the cost of trading and it isn't a kit I paid $10 for 12 years ago, it is the time and expense of going to the post office on top of the $10 and THAT is why I hesitate to trade most of the time. Hang in there, you sound like a younger member and in due time you will see more and learn more here. Be patient and you will reap the benefits, not just here but in life in general.
  18. Listed in Norm's catalog as being a Scale Resin Detailers part, also has a SS hood.
  19. That only becomes a problem when you go to do a 4 tire rotation!
  20. Modelroundup used to offer replacement side panels in resin to allow for a single rear axle instead of the tandem, might check with them to see if they still have them.
  21. Scott- Check out the Diorama section here and when you see something you like, send the member a PM and ask them to share with you, if they haven't already listed their sources in the post. My best advice is that if you see something you like and will use or want it, go ahead and get it because as you mentioned, many suppliers have come and gone over the years. "Snooze, you lose" is a hard lesson many of us have learned!
  22. My bad, you are correct. I assumed they were following in the footsteps of the COPO Nova.
  23. Asking who the best aftermarket supplier is like asking who makes the best car- everyone will chime in with their opinion. To answer your questions, Scale Equipment Limited is the one source you were thinking of. Scenes Unlimited is another, VCG Resins is another, Scale Modeling by Chris is another and they all have nice product. I have bought from all of them and the product and service has been excellent.
