Here are a couple of pictures of the Scout body. Robert Burns has captured the details very well. The chassis shown is a modified Scout II chassis that was shortened and trimmed to fit.
-
This is what I was referring to, the Scout 80 & Scout 800 models, which were the first generation/design. The second generation/design were referred to as Scout II. Scout models include: Scout 80 (1960–1965): Original standard model. Scout 800 (1966–1971): Same overall design as 80, with upgrades (electric wipers, newer engines, etc). Scout 810 (1971); some early Scout IIs contain Scout 810 badging on the glove box. Scout II (1971–1980)

The 70 ish Scout looks similar to the early 60's one, maybe a few differences like marker lights but body is unchanged. Closest thing you will find in scale.

Wonder how much they have improved the SSlasher kit? It had some issues IIRC with body proportions and the grille was kinda wonky.

Moebius Wrecker Truck Announcement
mikemodeler replied to Erik Solie's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
Modelroundup posted earlier today that their allotment of Wrecker Kits will ship out to them tomorrow and they hope to have them in their building in 7-10 days. Looks like they will be here in time for Christmas. -
For those looking for just the plow, here is the link to the Pegasus website listing for it: https://pegasushobbies.wpcomstaging.com/?s=snow+plow
-
Steve- If you want to buy the plow from the Moebius kit, you can go to Pegasus Hobbies website and buy it for $9.99 plus shipping. It was smart of them to offer it separately, something Revell didn't do with their kit. I believe the Revell Plow Truck is still available at HL and next week should be the 40% off week so there is that option as well.

Robert Burns has a Facebook page called Too Many Projects and he has a first gen Scout body that is well detailed. You would need to supply a chassis and interior for it, the current Scout kit can be modified to work.

Available in 14 and 15 inch from Fireball https://fireballmodels.info/fmr-146-15-in.html If you can find the Revell 69 Camaro ZL-1 kit (85-4056) or the SS396 kit (85-4525) you would have the correct kit to make a COPO Camaro as they have those wheels in it.

Trailer hitches

What kind of vehicle are you trying to put a hitch on? STS Supply took over for Scenes Unlimited and they had a couple of hitches. -
Moebius Wrecker Truck Announcement

I have heard that this shipment is sold out so if you haven't preordered one, they might be hard to come by. My guess is they will run some more before running the next version. -

Supposedly in transit to the distributors, sellers hope to have them by the end of November. -
When can we expect to see issue 226
mikemodeler replied to bobthehobbyguy's topic in Model Cars Magazine News and Discussions
Given the inconsistent history of the magazine, expecting an issue every two months is unreasonable. I agree that if that is what the advertised schedule is one should think it, but never has the magazine been delivered in timely fashion. For what it's worth, the automotive related magazine section at Barnes & Noble is looking quite sad these days, a true indication of the state of printed periodicals. If Hot Rod can't print monthly and has gone to a quarterly publication, then our niche magazines can't be too far behind. -
Jim, Cannot stress enough that what you have done to right the situation is very admirable, many would have left it alone. I am sorry to hear of Chris's ailments and wish him the best in his recovery. And all the best to you in your new adventure, hope it goes well for you and it sounds like you have a solid plan. Be sure to let us know where to find you on eBay so we can support your business.

I'm not a huge Mustang fan but that era Mustang appealed to me for some reason so it looks like one might make it to my stash.

ACME Southern Nationals - Cartersville GA
mikemodeler replied to kensar's topic in Contests and Shows
The early bird pass was to get you into the show at 8:00, while the regular admission was at 10:00. With all of the vendors there it was mind boggling at what was available. As mentioned above, just about anything you could think of was there- resin, paint, detailing items, decals, photo-etch, kits new and old- and of course the incredible models on display. The show truly attracts the best of the best and the talent on display is incredible. -
ACME Southern Nationals - Cartersville GA
mikemodeler replied to kensar's topic in Contests and Shows
Just have to say that this year's show was outstanding. Incredible builds on display and a ton of vendors to get your fix, whether it was old models, new models, resin or paint, there was something for everyone. Compared to the old venue, this location is so much better and having the hotel next to the center makes it easy for those that travel out of town. -
Looking forward to the 72 Chevelle, hoping they showed it some love like they did on the 64 Chevelle.
-
I'd also suggest contacting STS Decals, they do custom work and may have something like what you're looking for or could create it quickly.

Mostly for production purposes. Put power windows in every trim level of a model and less down time on the production line. There might be a work truck version of a F-150 or Silverado that has crank windows, I'd have to do some digging to see if its a possibility.

Moebius 1971 Lifted Ford F250 4x4 announcement
mikemodeler replied to Erik Solie's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
I will be happy to see this one arrive, I have some wheels and tires already picked out for it. -
So I am grateful that Hurricane Helene did minimal damage to my area of NC and I pray that the good people who were affected by it can recover soon, although that will definitely take time due to the size of the storm. But what irks me is that for three solid days, I have been listening to the sound of chainsaws because some neighbors hired a small crew to do some tree work and they are taking forever to get the job done. I'm sure the price was right but for God's sake, I am sitting here with my gun range hearing protection on because of the noise! I work from home and of all of the weeks for this to go on, its when I have some deadlines to hit and the noise is literally giving me headaches. And once they are done with the chainsaws, they start up the leaf blowers to clean up the remnants of the trees. Again, grateful but frustrated!

Tamiya spray cans banned in Canada!!!
mikemodeler replied to Bullybeef's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I am sure Tamiya will decide what has to be done and whether or not it is in their interest to change product content to comply. My guess is that if Canada is implementing stricter environmental laws on spray paint, other countries will follow suit. In the meantime, stores can still sell their paint, just can't re-order from the distributor, so start hoarding now like it's 2020 and toilet paper is in short supply! -
Any new info on the Moebius '67/'68 Chevy pickups?
mikemodeler replied to Can-Con's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
If Moebius was smart, they would look at how Revell is tooling the Stranger Things 85 Blazer for tips on how to offer variations without having to retool the whole kit. It looks like Revell is going to have a multi piece chassis with separate frame rails so all they have to do is a body, interior pan and frame to take a Blazer to make a pickup or Suburban. I know that if they focus on the 67-72 GM truck year range, they could literally print money from the kit sales. I am sure they have done well with the Fords and the GMs would be even more popular.
