The Scout II kit is available, look online at places like Modelroundup or Wes's Model Car Corner. Round2 recently had a Jeepster Commando model out and it too should be easy to find, although the front end depicts the last version of it with the flat front end. I have a conversion kit from the defunct Olson Bros. that has the early version front end. The Buick V-6 engine can be found in early versions of the Jeepster and CJ-5 Jeep kits that MPC offered, kinda pricey but they are out there if you search eBay.

That looks great! I have one to build myself, trying to figure out what to use as a tow vehicle. -

I'm not opposed to those either, it's just that they have teased us with artwork for Chevy pickups. -

Those geniuses will milk everything they can from a kit! This makes at least the third kit from that tooling, wonder if instead of a vending machine this will have a cooler? -
I have three of them, all pre-orders. The first one showed up Monday from Modelroundup, the other two came yesterday from Wes's Model Car Corner. Demand is greater than supply right now on these and supposedly a second run is being scheduled for early 2025. It is a nice kit, the wrecker body and gear is nicely done, surprised there aren't tow dollies like most had but I am sure the aftermarket will offer them to those that want them. The wheels are carry overs from the ramp truck with two sets of front wheels -2wd and 4wd- and the tires are from the plow truck. I saw the one on eBay for $112 and thought maybe the seller has a shill helping him run up the price or the highest bidder is willing to pay whatever and not shop around. I will get started on mine this weekend as I begin a two week vacation and have set aside time to be at the bench.

Moebius Wrecker Truck Announcement
mikemodeler replied to Erik Solie's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
The chrome wheels are available separately from Pegasus Hobbies (the owners of Moebius). -
Hoping there are some police or fire modelers on here who could use the red or blue lenses from this kit and trade me your amber and/or clear ones in exchange? I won't be using the red or blue ones and want them to go to someone who will use them. I have two sets to trade if you are up to it. PM me

Looking for 61mm x 37.5mm MPC USA-1 tires and wheels
mikemodeler replied to 1stgoat's topic in Wanted!
I believe these may have been discontinued but if you can find them in a hobby store they would be cheaper than buying kits for the tires. https://www.hobbytown.com/amt-1-25-monster-truck-tire-parts-pack-amtpp026/p969389 -
Wick, The bodies from Robert Burns typically include exterior details like mirror, bumpers, grilles, headlights and such but the chassis and interior are up to the builder. While his bodies are excellent, it is important that you consider what parts you will need to complete the build before making a purchase as some might be more challenging than others. These Scout bodies are fairly simple in that the current Scout II kit provides what you need with a chassis and interior. The little Scout needs a different engine to be accurate as the Scout II kit depicts the 345 CI V-8, but the hoods on the Scout bodies are molded closed so it doesn't matter unless you cut it open. I have included pictures of what his Scout half cab kit includes to give you an idea of what you would receive should you purchase one. I bought the "white" cast bodies, they need a little sanding before primer and paint but cost less than the "brown" cast which is a cleaner cast.

Here are a couple of pictures of the Scout body. Robert Burns has captured the details very well. The chassis shown is a modified Scout II chassis that was shortened and trimmed to fit.

This is what I was referring to, the Scout 80 & Scout 800 models, which were the first generation/design. The second generation/design were referred to as Scout II. Scout models include: Scout 80 (1960–1965): Original standard model. Scout 800 (1966–1971): Same overall design as 80, with upgrades (electric wipers, newer engines, etc). Scout 810 (1971); some early Scout IIs contain Scout 810 badging on the glove box. Scout II (1971–1980)

The 70 ish Scout looks similar to the early 60's one, maybe a few differences like marker lights but body is unchanged. Closest thing you will find in scale.

Wonder how much they have improved the SSlasher kit? It had some issues IIRC with body proportions and the grille was kinda wonky.

Moebius Wrecker Truck Announcement
mikemodeler replied to Erik Solie's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
Modelroundup posted earlier today that their allotment of Wrecker Kits will ship out to them tomorrow and they hope to have them in their building in 7-10 days. Looks like they will be here in time for Christmas. -
For those looking for just the plow, here is the link to the Pegasus website listing for it: https://pegasushobbies.wpcomstaging.com/?s=snow+plow
-
Steve- If you want to buy the plow from the Moebius kit, you can go to Pegasus Hobbies website and buy it for $9.99 plus shipping. It was smart of them to offer it separately, something Revell didn't do with their kit. I believe the Revell Plow Truck is still available at HL and next week should be the 40% off week so there is that option as well.

Robert Burns has a Facebook page called Too Many Projects and he has a first gen Scout body that is well detailed. You would need to supply a chassis and interior for it, the current Scout kit can be modified to work.
