  1. Drag race legend, team owner and businessman Don Schumacher passed away from his battle with cancer today at the age of 79. One of the sports biggest names has passed on to the drag strip in the sky after so much he has given to motorsports.
  2. The WFH policy is a joke, I can attest to it as I have a harder time getting answers from the people who work a hybrid schedule on their "home" days versus their "office" days. Companies are willing to accept a reduced work output level because they are saving big $$$ by not having as much office space or utilities as a result of people working from home. I have been WFH for nearly 30 years as I am in field sales and my employer is on the other side of the country. Since Covid when my travel was curtailed, my food and utilities costs have risen and sadly my pay hasn't kept pace with inflation so I have suffered while my employer has benefited.
  3. Nice! Very clean and well detailed!
  4. Steve, thanks for the explanation, this should be pinned at the top of the section so whenever the topic comes up, it can be seen and you don't have to respond each time. A big thank you to you and the team for bringing this old kit back, looking forward to having it again and whatever else you have up your sleeve!
  5. That is a question for someone at Round2 to answer, I highly doubt any of us here know the exact costs involved. It likely depends on whether that updating can be done in house or has to be sent to an outside entity to do the work. What may seem like a simple task (and it possibly is) may cost thousands as it has to be reviewed, proofread and approved by many eyes, likely including a legal team. This kit was created in a time where we had fewer warning labels and people understood that sharp knives and glue were to be handled with caution.
  6. I would be willing to bet that the budgets for these reissues are based on the amount of work needed to get them back on the shelves and the ones with the least amount of work and higher selling potential win out over those that require more. While new instruction sheets would be nice, I am sure the cost and time involved may factor into whether or not a kit gets approved.
  7. So a couple of observations..... 1. Your view of the ACME NNL is based on other's comments and postings and not your actual attendance, am I right? So again, I ask, why must you comment on something for which you know little about? 2. Yes, people go to the same shows over and over again because they get to see friends and reconnect while sharing a mutual interest. That is basis of what socializing is about. Is it wrong to want to attend a gathering with people of whom you may be acquainted and enjoy a hobby? Apparently in your book it is. 3. Whatever it is you are trying to accomplish by mocking those that go to these events, not knowing if they are also attending other regional events, only shows your ignorance. Whatever makes you feel like you know more than the rest of us, keep believing!
  8. Harts Parts Resin has the 79-80 quad headlight grille available, did not see the single headlight grille on his website.
  9. Niteowl7710- Atlanta, NNL East, the old NNL in Toledo all seem like social functions that someone happens to be holding a model show during, rather than a MODEL CONTEST that attracts people to attend. Have you attended the Atlanta ACME show in recent years? If you had, you would note that there is quite the draw in both quality and quantity of builders. This year's event was in a new location (much larger) and was packed with vendors and model builders. I'd suggest you at least attend an event before commenting on what it is like.
  10. Will definitely be picking one or two of these up, already have a Fireball F-250 conversion kit ready for it.
  11. Interesting that they have the 2wd front suspension but only the 4wd tires. Not sure why the fleetside bed tail lamp bezels were included but my guess is that the chrome tree is shared between the two kits. I will definitely be picking up (pun intended) a couple of these kits but will be looking for better engine/trans combo to swap in.
  12. Check with Fireball Modelworks or ST Supply, they have tires that should work.
  13. Chad stated in the new video today that this kit is part of a bunch of new releases to that will hit the shelves in the next 4-6 weeks.
  14. Nice rig, love the 4wd conversion. I have the 2wd cousin of that truck in the "to be completed" pile....someday!
  15. Welcome and looking forward to seeing your work. Not sure if you are aware, but there is a model car show in January in Spartanburg SC. Hosted by SCMA, it is a really nice show and if you are able to attend, I highly suggest you do. There is a swap meet in Salisbury NC in mid February that is a great place to pick up kits too. Later in August there is a great show in Clemmons NC.
  16. If you are on FB (I know not everyone is so please hold your comments) then you would see many of the aftermarket companies were doing BF/CM specials. Not sure if MCM would allow them to advertise here but might be a consideration for next year given how this is the target audience.
  17. In case you weren't aware, Paul at ST Supply has taken over the product line formerly known at Scenes Unlimited. I had been a customer of SU and got to know Danny (the former owner) and was obviously sad when he sold the business. He assured me that Paul was going to do the SU line justice and carry on the path Danny set for it. I recently placed my first order for some stuff since Paul took over and just received it the other day. Danny was right, the products are still top quality and the service was great, especially considering he ships from Canada. I need to look through my kits and see what else is needed, I will be ordering again! Buy with confidence.
  18. I have too many 69 Camaros from Revell, both in snap and glue form, to count. Half of the built models in my display case are 69 Camaros, with the Revell 63 Corvette snappers in a close second. I also have accumulated a bunch of MPC Jeep CJ-5 kits and the 84 GMC Deserter kits. The Deserter kits will be donors for some other kit conversions.
  19. Check with any of the online retailers, they may swing you a deal if you buy multiples. All you can do is ask!
  20. Thanks for sharing, looks like this fat kid is going to have to start saving his lunch money for all of the cool stuff coming! Mopar fans should be happy!
  21. Nice start! IIRC, back when those came out the way most people lifted them was with taller coil springs in the front and lift blocks under the rear leaf springs. Fireball has a kit for the Revell first gen Bronco, I will have to check to see if it would work on this MPC kit.
  22. The Round2 FB page had the November video posted today. Very light on product releases, only two model kits with one of them being the MPC Dodge Charger kit from the 80's and the other was a figure if I remember correctly. Likely won't see much until next year.
  23. Been saving my lunch money for this show all summer long, looking forward to the new venue and expanded show! Got my early bird pass and hotel room so all that is left is to get to Cartersville!
  24. They do so well Revell is bringing one out next year too. Not sure what the differences are between the two but I am sure there will be a lot of happy modelers.
  25. I see a 68 Firebird or two in my future and probably a couple of those Blazers. If that F-350 doesn't have the plastic tires then I am in for one or two. The '79 Camaro having new parts makes me wonder if it is just a re-hash of the old kit with the T-Tops? Between Moebius, the Dodge Warlock and this news, going to be an expensive year for me !
