  1. Started on the sub assemblies. Assembled and jigged the frame. Started massaging the resin cab. Had to replace the windshield divider which was bent, then broken. No need to tell how it broke.
  2. No, Purple Power in this case.
  3. And so, it is officially started. I will build it as a tandem to the colors he has on the restored truck. Put the resin in the purple juice. Started pecking away at the rear suspension. Scuffed the tires. It is interesting to note that while the instructions tell you to remove the tire centers, those in this kit have none. They are also a bit too big "loose" on the rim.
  4. Where did you get the Frenzel?
  5. The inspiration for my build comes from this truck that a contractor not far from here has restored. He started out logging and became a prominent highway and road builder in this area. He is a car collector and a philanthropist. Since he sold his company, he has been giving money by the hundreds of thousands of dollars to various charities. He turned down one purchase offer because the buyer wouldn't guarantee him he'd keep his staff. That kind of guy. There are a few things up in the air yet. Do I do it single drive like his restored truck or dual like his logging rig. And since there doesn't appear to be any B-61 engines ion the market, do I build it curbside or do I stick the ENDT 673 in it?
  6. Opened up the bulkhead to clear the top front of the engine. will build up around it. Built up the Packard's exhaust manifold to accept the exhaust turbine flange width. Mocked up the turbos, sort of.
  7. First order of business is to make the engine fit in a car which wasn't designed for it. To gain a bit of longitudinal clearance I removed a protuberance from the bulkhead and the fan bearing housing. It won't have an engine mounted fan anyway. Since we won't be going anywhere near LeMans speeds, I opened up the underpan (or is it undertray?) to provide clearance for the transaxle. With the transaxle located by a rod we can now refine the clearance requirements for the engine.
  8. Received the transaxle and the turbos. This translucent stuff is hard to photograph. Then I have to start designing. then I have to send the design down two and a bit left for approval. No sense having something that won't run.
  9. My "unstarted " picture is in the other thread. Does that count? Will start a thread as soon as I'm officially in.
  10. There. Best I could do. Well.....best I'm going to do.
  11. Here is mine: AITM Mack B-61 cab over DM 600 chassis. It will be a tribute to a man and his truck which I will outline in the build thread.
  12. From what I read here, the trailer is optional right?
  13. I remember ours got over 30 mpg regularly. That was seriously good mileage in the late 70’s
  14. Foiling's done.
  15. Yup.
  16. There is a name for that: power blister.
  17. It my case it was the bottom of the firewall. The installation of the radiator hose completed the engine bay.
  18. Interior and body are painted.
  19. Lookin' good. Had some pretty fast rides in one of those.
  20. Is that the new SH Mustang? SH for Short Hood.
