  1. The little room I use to build has sort of a closet at the end. I had removed the bifold doors to clear the desk but now I want to remove the closet altogether and lose a bunch of junk in doing so. After the first day. Room is 25" larger.
  2. Michael, I enjoyed all three of your builds here. Nice simple & clean. Any more to show us?
  3. Hey Pat, I like that a lot. It has an authentic "feeling" about it. Hard to describe, but the fact that it triggers a reaction make it a successful rendition.
  4. X2, any Plastheniker model is above and beyond.
  5. Chassis is almost done. Parked in the engine shop while I attack the body. That white thing is the next challenge.
  6. Beautiful, clean,model.
  7. I would be too. As a matter of fact, the whole thing just fills me with ideas.
  8. Thanks to all for the kind words. It was a fun project.
  9. First attempt. the "oil" is quite shiny. I may tone it down.
  10. Painted and installed the connectors. Since a pogo stick would get in the way of the winch cable I just laid them on the deck. I suppose I could have made a hook and hung them on the winch tower.
  11. My wife had bought some oranges at Christmas. They were in very thin plywood crates. I thought that would make some good workbench tops and shelves. Tried my hand at rags. The "oil" looks a bit shiny for my taste. If it doesn't dull up, I'll give them a shot of Dullcote.
  12. Painted the frame and the wheels. Started assembling the chassis.
  13. Same here. It is all I can do todo the maintenance on my two old cars. I caan get down and under but it takes forever to get back up. Same as getting under the dash, it takes 15 minutes only to find out you have the wrong tool. I'm with you for the little ones: !:25 the weight and cost as well.
  14. I have several hobbies. At one time I worked on 1:1 old cars, restoring a rather rough '34 Chevy over a period of 8 years. Lotsa "Zen" time there. Models and woodworking. Same here, great getaways. A few of us maintain and enjoy a network of snowshoe trails. That is beyond Zen, utterly peaceful & quiet.
  15. Mine is of the small persuasion. I have a few rigs but all of them will wind up being something else, mostly vintage.
  16. Tried it. Seems to work. they aren't quite dry yet.
  17. I read in Hollywood's dio thread that he made rags with tissues wetted with thinned white glue. What does one thin white glue with and what is the recipe?
  18. Finally got around to making trailer connections for this truck. Since I can't really get to the back of the cab due to the winch tower, is it plausible if the connection block was mounted to the floor of the deck?
  19. Love it. I'll watch out for the pan when I get to the one on my stash.
  20. It is on Montreal road in Ottawa.
  21. I get that feeling too when I recognize one here on the forum.
  22. Thanks guys. I felt I had to do a little bit last night, just to change the mood. we have just come back from a two week trip where we visited my wife's dying sister and hung around for almost a week to attend the funeral. Didn't want to drive back and forth, 500 miles one way. I took the opportunity to visit the Hobby House, the oldest hobby house in continuous ownership in the country. Since 1953. He's 82 and still manages it. I don't need to tell you this guy knows his stuff.
