  1. Sorry John. You must be thinking of someone else. I've never built a red Merc. Salmon...yes. Too many guys build such wonderful versions of the Merc, I did 1 and then ran and hid!
  2. Very nice save indeed. Well worth the effort!
  3. This is the best I can do...photo-wise...sorry...not much of a photographer. Thanks for looking.
  4. This is just a curbside using mostly parts in the kit. The interior is upholstered with white medical tape and green leather. The tonneau cover has been dropped to the inside and the edges molded. There is a small access lid just behind the rear window for an overnight bag, and the vent windows were angled back to give it a subtle change. Colour is Testors British Green Metallic and the bumpers were stripped and painted with Model Master aluminum metalizer. Clear headlights were installed in place of the molded chrome.
  5. This would be in your rear view mirror.....mercy!
  6. Built just for some fun. The frame is metal rod soldered together. The handlebars are solder, the seat is leather, and the front wheel is a steering wheel from the parts box. The front tire is an "O" ring, while the rear tires are simply rubber washers. The fenders were made using sheet styrene and I used 1/2 round to peak them. Colour is Tamiya lemon yellow, and the flames are from a '32 Ford decal sheet. The streamers on the handle grips are yellow ignition wires.
  7. This was built with parts I had, just parts box stuff that I always wanted to use someday. After a devastating personal loss, 4 years went by, and I only occasionally looked at the models, but couldn't find the spirit to build. Then, one day, I told myself to throw something together, and although it's WAY wrong in so many ways, but it was a new focus. So here it is.....
  8. Could you show us how it looks with the background lowered?
  9. Just stunning!
  10. OH!! That is MUCH better. That flows just beautifully! Nice job!
  11. Man, that was a big (no pun intended) undertaking! It looks very good to my eye. You have the lines really straight....nice!
  12. Looks really nice. Those wheels really look good on the bug. Is that a slot car drag strip it's parked on?
  13. If you have an itch....scratch it! hehehe
  14. Yes! We are patiently waiting for an update.
  15. Carl said what I was thinking.
  16. Great job on this! Those hinges are really risky and you did a super job making the car look so good! Congrats!
  17. Really nice....as is all your work.
  18. Thanks for your replies. I forget, but someone was asking about a model of a lawnmower recently, and I thought, it's fairly easy to scratch build one....just look at the "shapes" of things, go through your parts bins, and try stuff out. Lots of fun when people see your creation the first time, even though it's far from perfect.
  19. Stan.....you KNOW I love small cars with tubs! I'll be watching this build for sure.
  20. Yesterday, just picked up the Galaxie '48 Chev sedan delivery. Never had a Galaxie kit before. And while the kit itself was nicely done, for the Canadian price I paid, sooner would have bought 2 other kits. Maybe I need more time getting comfortable with it sitting there.
  21. Great to see older builds. You have an excellent body of work there Harry. They aren't my cup of tea, but you can't deny the degree of excellence you've achieved. Thanks for the look.
  22. Wow! That is spectacular! Perfect colours.
  23. Just a thought....how about a cream kinda colour on the upholstery?
