  1. Using heat does the trick, but DON'T BURN YOURSELF. Keep the styrene rod far enough away from your heat source, and as soon as you feel the styrene "getting loose" ( before it shrivels up), bend it around a form to get the angles uniform, then let it cool down on it's own. Years ago, I used a lit cigarette to heat the styrene, but I don't smoke any more.....wished I never had started! Anyway, using that method, this is an example of uniform bends to make headers. These are 1/32 scale, so .060 in diameter.
  2. Welcome Clark. Good to have another Canadian here! What do you build?
  3. Excellent build Stan. Love the stance...and the paint....and the tubs .....well, everything!
  4. Beautiful build Stan! You sure know how to achieve a perfect stance with your tubbed cars! Pleasure to see it done. Cheers!
  5. I'm usually not overly interested in drag cars ( they're SO complicated technically to me) , but this caught my eye. Hoping to learn a bit about how these bad boys are built. Already learning a lot from other guys' builds, so just have some fun, I'll just watch.
  6. There are probably a bunch of us "old guys" here that built that kit, often having several back in the day. It's a classic! You're doing a great job, so don't give up on it! Really want to see this one finished!
  7. Your build on this really knocked me out! I've spent a bit more time looking it over, and found other things that are done very nicely. There's more to this model than the initial impact, which is WOW! For example, I just noticed that you Z'd the frame by the firewall. I hadn't noticed that before. And aside from the valve stems, it appears that you have black-washed the lug area, which makes it look very real. And the grille definately suits the car! The more I look, the more I like!
  8. Great looking car! I'd like to see some salt on it. Where did you get the tires? Also , nice decals!
  9. Every piece is top-notch! Beautiful work sir! I really like the detail inside the dragster. Great job!
  10. Got to spend some time in my little shop this afternoon. Still working on this small project, but today , I was having some FUN! Got the curtains figured out, the support rods for fenders were made from a paper clip, and I'm using the hinges and handles from a '37 Ford. I thought the 1/2 round coming off the bubble windows gave it an "Art Deco" feel. Thanks for looking.
  11. That's sooooo cool! Simple and BAD! I love it! Also love the valve stems.
  12. Nice colour on the car. Perfect small base for it also. Your friend(s) should quite like it.
  13. You guys sure did a fabulous job on that panel truck! Super clean work on an unusual subject! Really nice!
  14. Glad to see you're back at it Bernard! The pan is lovely, as is the Y block. I was concerned about you for a while....glad you're back!
  15. The front end looks like it was meant to be there! What a cool idea!
  16. I' m still looking for the wheel backs to these "Pro Stars",because I think they suit the truck, and I love them!
  17. Moving along nicely Stan. Loving the last couple of your builds! Cheers!
  18. Shardik, I only used the Chevy as an example of the condition I got the Ford. Sorry for any confusion. I may tackle the Chevy in the future. Again, sorry about that. BTW, your Chevy looks really nice done stock!
  19. These cab-overs from the 30's are SO cool, but they look really gawky and "top heavy", but you won't find too many around, for sure!
