As a Blackhawks fan, I had to admit the Ducks looked like the better team most of the series but last nights game was amazing. Actually felt a little bad for the Ducks.

I don't really mind the lateness of the magazine as it becomes a surprise when it shows up in the mail since I never know when to expect it. Also, I'm just glad these guys create a pretty good issue each time with valuable information. Scale Auto always seems to disappoint me anymore.

I see nothing in the description saying there is a figure in the kit. If you read the front of the box carefully you'll see the car was featured on the Top Gear show. If this is, in fact, the actual model box they are selling, I don't like all the references to The Stig, BBC Top Gear, etc. I can see a lot of buyers "assuming" there's something more to this kit than just a model of the '53 Corvette.

I've used Hobby Link Japan before and Tower Hobbies carries "some" Aoshima kits. I never do Ebay so...... Thanks for the various sources.

Still waiting on when we might see that World Touring Chevy car. Aoshima, I think. Always tough for me to track down where I can purchase Aoshima kits. Kind of hit and miss even on the Internet.

I see there's supposed to be a flying car available by next year. I think it was a Swedish company? Who's gonna know how to drive/fly it? And who's gonna teach you? Half the people on the roads today can't drive safely and we're going to make a flying car available?!!

Good call on using a different nozzle. It worked much better but still had a little drizzle from the top of the can. I think it might be a combination of the nozzle and where it connects to the can. I use an airbrush occasionally but use Testors cans for most of my painting. The basic white, black, flat black, etc. work pretty well for the most part. I've been using Tamiya spray more and more lately and as usual with anything Tamiya, it's great. A bit spendy though.

Opened a brand new can of Testors metallic silver spray on Monday to paint some parts. Ended up with paint draining out the top of the can, all over my fingers, and some on my pants. Never had that happen before. Can't tell exactly what's wrong but it sure made a mess. Contacted Testors (Monday) and got an email back from Rust-Oleum saying they'll get back to me as soon as possible. It's Thursday. Really? Figured it was worth a complaint and maybe there were others that had a defective can and they could address the problem but now wondering if it's just another corporation who can't be bothered. I bought 2 cans with my order from Tower Hobbies and think I'll try the other can to see if it's ok.

My sister got me the pirate ship for Christmas. I was going along well with the build but have been stuck on the hull. It's 2 sides and needs to be bent in quite a few different angles and I'm not sure what all those angles are. Don't want to bend metal too many times, especially this delicate. It is fun as something different and it should only be done by people who are already familiar with model building. I can't imagine some poor person that has never built anything before trying to tackle these little kits.

The Michael's near me has a small model section in the far end corner and have much of nothing. I sometimes go with the wife when she needs art supplies and the models are always the same. Passenger cars, a couple of planes and ships, etc. I've never seen anything else. In years past, other Michael's in the area were the same so I've never bought a kit there.

My problem with the DTM kits was the glass. The side windows were warped and so was a front windshield. Couldn't get them straightened out with hot water. Revell was good enough to send some replacements but I recall one of the side windows were again warped. I agree the kits rival Tamiya in quality but just don't want to press my luck with another frustrating batch of warped parts.

I can't comment on the problems with your particular kits but I have noticed many recent Revell of Germany kits I've bought have warp issues. The DTM cars, a Porsche, and a couple of others. Bodies and windows were a couple I can remember right now. I have no idea why it seems to just be the Revell of Germany kits but I'm not buying anymore because of this.

Good point. It was just selfish thinking on my part as I think the V8 Supercars put on such exciting races that everyone would share in my views.

I know I'd buy a bunch. Revell Germany did many DTM cars so why not Australian V8 cars? Just as popular I would think.

I couldn't remember what channel had it but NBCSN was probably the one I caught the highlights on each year. Seemed they had it on at 11pm Pacific time each night so I'd just record it and watch the next day. Such a great event!

I lost the front bumper from a '61 Ford Starliner. A huge chrome bumper. My workbench is in the garage and I have a pretty clean garage so looking on the floor in the area was easy. Spent days looking around and in boxes on the bench but never found it. How does something that big and chrome just disappear? Luckily I was building a circle track car so ended up substituting another bumper but still would like to have the mystery solved.

It's good to read I'm not the only one who strikes out at garage sales, etc. Years ago I used to go to those neighborhood garage sales but don't waste my time anymore. I encountered too many people as described above that think they're going to get rich selling some model kits or forgot what "garage sales" were originally intended to be. Flea markets or swap meets are just as bad. I never understood how the seller could possible know the actual price he wants on every single kit he has when the price isn't on it. You've really memorized all 100 or so kits prices in your head?! Maybe you should be doing something more productive with that kind of brain power. We had a neighborhood garage sale some years ago and I had about 30 kits all priced at $5. Never sold any of them.
