  1. Always liked the unique look of this car and your model looks great.
  2. I was thinking this exact thing while reading your post. oh heaven's to Betsy! happened to them?!
  3. Dumb people don't learn anything through life. You see it everyday with things they do. The rest of us learn from our mistakes or learn things as we go along and retain them because we know it makes life easier.
  4. Thanks everyone for the nice comments. The color was similar to the 1968 Chevy pickup I had so that's why I chose it plus I didn't want anything bright. Hood was fine and I just had to carefully glue the wedge pieces and secure them while drying.
  5. Always liked the P-38 also and you did a fantastic job on this! The weathering is amazing!
  6. A great looking model and I agree with the nice decal work.
  7. Always liked Boston Terriers. I just have to laugh whenever I see one.
  8. Monogram kit that came with the old Indy roadster dual package. Changed a few things by adding PPP wheels with tires from the parts box, modified the front push bar and suspension and a couple of other things.
  9. The reissued MPC pickup that wasn't as bad a kit as I thought it might be. Painted with Krylon Colormaxx because it was the color I was looking for and I didn't care about a nice paint job. Turned out just the way I expected. Didn't want to fit a car on the truck so went with a scene of possibly loading or unloading the back.

    Ford GT-90

AMT snap-kit and not painted since the white plastic was nice and shiny and I wanted to keep this build simple. It was but needed some detail painting to make it look acceptable. The windshield/top was the hardest part as it needed a lot of careful painting.
  11. I don't build street rods but decided to do something different. Monogram model painted with Testors Extreme Lacquer Fiery orange. Box stock except added different tail lights and outside mirror.
  12. I feel bad for you guys. We had this a couple of years ago and I can relate to what you're saying. Scary, annoying, and not good in any way. Hope they get a handle on it up in Canada.
  13. Yes, I agree the box art won't make the younger crowd want to pick it up and look at it. I used to watch Laugh-In but have no interest in the decals and flower art but if it has a decent bunch of parts for an oval racer I'd probably buy it. Hopefully it has some decals for that?

    A gambling Lady

Your model looks great! I like the choice of colors you used on everything. I've heard lots of bad things about this kit and it appears all your hard work turned in to something nice.
  15. Grocery shopping. I shop from an ad every week and pride myself on saving money. The ads have gotten more and more tricky to look through with all the digital coupons you have to download and make sure you apply it to the correct size of what you're buying. Then you've got "buy5/save whatever" gimmicks that I may or may not do. Depends on if I really need 5 various items to make it work. My point being, I'm getting older and notice I sometimes screw up and cost myself money because I didn't study the ad properly and I mean STUDY.
  16. Never been in a slump but having several models in various stages of a build helps. That way I can work on whatever catches my interest when I belly up to the bench. I also look through my model stash and sometimes get the urge to build something different to keep things fresh. I may think I'm not gonna be interested in a particular subject but when I start building it, I realize it's enjoyable because it's not the same old thing. The only "slump" I've had lately is I've grown tired of all the decals needed to finish racing cars. Those are my favorite models to build but for some reason I find it hard to sit down and take the time to patiently apply them.
  17. Imagination and talent run wild! As much as I like the boat, I think I like the trailer even more. Nice job!
  18. To help explain the sorting problem being sent to another city and back again....... Several years ago they closed a sorting station in a major city here so that all mail goes about 50 miles up the freeway to Portland, gets sorted and then ships out. Doesn't matter if you're sending a letter across town, it takes the scenic route and then back again. I'm sure they will tell you it's more efficient that way.
  19. Nice looking plane. Saw one of these at an air show once. Loud!
  20. Looks great! F1 cars always have such busy liveries and you did it well.
  21. Not big on her singing career but really liked her in Thunderdome. She nailed that character.
  22. Don't remember the names of the films they showed us in high school in the 70's but we still did stupid things in our cars. Same goes with the health films and education they showed us to scare us about all the dangers of sex. We were teenagers and none of this bothered us.
  23. Good looking model. Your added decals are just right.
  24. Nicely done. Always thought this looked like a fun model but never bought one.
