misinformation on the web.

I believe it was Mark Twain who first said, "Don't believe everything you see on the internet." -
Agree! And congrats on painting the engine black. I'm gonna build this one, too--Toy II. But I might put the Super Stock class lettering on it.

I started watching it because some years ago my Dad told me it was funny and recommended I try it. So I did. I must have picked the worst episode ever, because I though it was the silliest, stupidest, most un-funny show I'd ever seen--except for ONE line from Becker, which was outrageously hilarious and one of the funniest things I've ever heard in my life. But I could never remember what it was. Never watched the show again. So now that I have time, I'm watching them all trying to find that ONE line again. I'm about halfway through now. I suspect the line I want is in one of the last two seasons. (I didn't realize there were six seasons when I started it.) I like Linda too, but I liked her even more in the first two seasons, when she was--how should I put this?--even MORE Linda-y. I wonder why she made the change.

An Almost Cool TV Commercial

I despise those emu commercials almost as much as the ones with Flo. -
Rare Kits... prices.

Yesterday I (apparently) looked at a built AMT '66 Skylark (Craftsman, molded in green)--no Buy It Now, but a starting bid of $115. No bids, no watchers. Just got an email inviting me to make an offer. I already have one, and parts of another one. Maybe I'll offer him $35. -
I've been binge-watching episodes of the old sitcom Becker on Pluto TV (free streaming), which I never watched when it was on. Just watched the Season 3 episode where Becker is dating a much younger woman, and seems to be having a heart attack every time it's time to go home with her. I diagnosed the real problem long before Becker did--and he's a doctor! (Hint: It always happens in a Chinese restaurant.)

I'm no closer on getting my taxes done. The good news is, I finally got my 1099-G, so I know how much money I made in 2020. I stopped at the tax place booth at Walmart and asked if they had tax forms. The nice lady told me they didn't (or she wouldn't give me any), but told me to wait as long as possible. (The federal deadline has been moved back a month.) Apparently my state either just has or is about to make all unemployment for 2020 and 2021 non-taxable, but they don't have the forms or instructions for it finalized yet. She recommended I do my taxes online (as late as possible) using free software from either Turbo Tax or H&R Block. Hmmmmmm......

amt 1202 1/25 AMT 1963 Chevy II Nova Station Wagon - Craftsman Plus
Snake45 replied to Casey's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I bought two and will probably buy at least one or two more. LOTTA buzz about that kit here and I think we've already seen four of them built. That's pretty hot by my reckoning.- 599 replies

Saw it. Seems like a pretty cool collection, though none of those airplanes is particularly in my wheelhouse. -
OMG! That looks exactly like Bucky Katt from the comic strip Get Fuzzy.

Great save! Well done and model on!

Right. I got a real good deal on one of those one time. -

Never saw the movie but pretty sure I saw the ad you're talking about. That explains it. -
If I HAVE to see commercials for this product, could it be this one every time, please?

The Lovely Mrs. Snake got her first shot--I think it was Pfizer but not 100% sure--and had no effects at all. And trust me, if she HAD, I'd know about it.

I agree with you completely. In fact, you've got me thinking about making a "phantom" '69 Firebird using the Revell Camaro body and the MPC front and rear ends and hood. The big difference between my idea and the real car is that the character line on the front fenders wouldn't carry forward of the wheel openings. Which, IMHO, might look better. BTW, I see that I forgot to add the pic last night, or it didn't load for some reason. Here it is.

Thanks for the kind words. I'm planning to do something similar with the new '63 Nova wagon, as soon as I can decide on a color.

Many have talked about building one of these, but I think this is the first one I've actually seen done. Wish the pics were sharper as it looks like a nice model. Model on!

It came with some actual Reliable Resin literature, with a Reliable Resin label on the box, so unless someone's counterfeiting them, I assume it's Reliable Resin.

What he said! Well done and model on!

It sure is, and it takes a lot more skill, too. You did a magnificent job with this one. Well done and model on! -
If they raised it, they didn't raise it enough. Here's the MPC Camaro body compared with the Revell. You'll see the same difference if you compare your MPC Firebird body with a good profile photo of a real '69 Firebird. Weird fact: The MPC '68 and '69 Camaro bodies are narrower than they should be, but the Firebird isn't. I don't know why.

Don't think I've ever seen that one before. Is it curbside or a full-detail kit?
