  1. Go! Go! GITTER DONE! I need to get back to work on the EMPI Imp. The hangup is I'm gonna have to piece together an engine of some sort, which I'm not looking forward to. If I didn't have that hanging over me, I could Snake-slap this puppy back together in a day or two.
  2. Yesterday on eBay I scored a JoHan "USA" reissue '69 AMX kit, unbuilt, molded in red, and an original annual AMT '66 Riviera, also unbuilt, which seems to have all the original parts, including all the custom goodies. I also bid on an AMX promo, but got beat. Didn't really need another one, but at the time I bid it was ridiculously underpriced and I didn't want to wake up and see that it had gone for anywhere near that. I laid down a bid that was more fair, but still would have been a screamin' deal. Woke up to find it eventually went for $25 over that. Didn't feel bad about it at all. BTW, if anyone's looking for a JoHan AMX, there's a perfect condition promo on eBay right now, $55 Buy It Now, which is a really good deal. Only downside to it is, it's molded in light gray or silver, which doesn't matter if you want to paint it anyway. I'm gonna polish the red plastic of the USA one I bought.
  3. Good one. I've heard it as The Eighth Beatitude: Blessed is he who expecteth nothing, for he shall not be disappointed.
  4. That's a nice looking car, and if I can find one for $20, I'll build it. Fair enough?
  5. Good to hear. I'm hoping to Snake-slap a prepainted '65 Coronet together this week.
  6. It might not show up at Hobby Lobby ever--for reasons that have nothing to do with the kit's popularity or sales potential.
  7. Wasn't that one produced by Airfix of England?
  8. So you have grasped the concept completely!
  9. Weird. Still works for me--I just clicked the link above. Here it is again. https://www.nbc.com/saturday-night-live/video/weekend-update-girl-you-wish-you-hadnt-started-a-conversation-with-on-the-coronavirus/4129049 And here it is on U2be:
  10. Hard to be sure just from pictures, but I think you might be onto something here. I'm pretty sure an inch chop on my Greenlight diecast would vastly improve its looks.
  11. I have an even better idea. Let's set the clocks ahead on Friday afternoon, say around 2:00 PM. They can leave the "fall back" at Saturday night/Sunday morning, 'cause that works fine.
  12. Pretty cool! Yenko was also into using Pontiac Rally II wheels in 1968, another option to consider (that would really cement the Yenko connection).
  13. I also use, "Rome wasn't burned in a day." My Dad once got a Christmas card from one of his old Air Force pilot buddies, still on active duty during the Vietnam era, that said: Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for I am the meanest SOB in the valley.
  14. Both are okay, but neither really spins my windmill. I'd keep looking. I don't have any suggestions, though, sorry. Are you going for more of a retro (period correct) or modern look?
  15. Me neither. I have a couple diecasts and a Revell 2008 Bullitt Mustang kit, and those completely scratch all my "modern Mustang" itches. Wake me when Tamiya does a '67-'68 Cougar, or a '65 Skylark GS. That'll pry my wallet open! If they're 1/25 and curbside, better yet!
  16. '68-'72 chassis won't work. They're three inches too short. But the '66 and '67 should work fine.
  17. Very VERY nice! I LOVE these Revell snappers. I've built the '69 Camaro, '70 Chevelle, and four of the '63 Corvettes, and have the '57 Chev on the bench. I'd like to build the Monte but have never run across one. Well done and model on!
  18. The Girl You Wish You Hadn't Started a Conversation with at a Party. For reasons I won't go into, I didn't think we'd ever see her again. https://www.nbc.com/saturday-night-live/video/weekend-update-girl-you-wish-you-hadnt-started-a-conversation-with-on-the-coronavirus/4129049 She's so "woke" that she's brain-dead. Best SNL character ever!
  19. Here's a possible answer to the problem: 1. Buy the '65 Chevelle mod stocker kit. 2. Cut off its top and graft it onto the upcoming '64 Cutlass convertible to make your own Cutlass hardtop. 3. Replace the Chevelle body on the mod stocker frame with the body from some old glue bomb or sub-par model in your possession. You end up with not just one but two cool models nobody else has!
  20. Should be, though minor mods might be necessary. Actually the chassis from any '64-'67 GM A-body kit should work. I'm planning to build my resin copy on a Revell '65 Chevelle chassis.
  21. I just realized, I don't have much trouble dropping Tamiya-like bucks on a rare, long OOP AMT or JoHan model on eBay, so I guess price isn't really a complete deal-killer for me. As you say, it's all about subject matter.
  22. It ain't rocket surgery.
  23. I was thinking exactly the same thing!
  24. Wow, what a clean, sharp build! Well done and model on!
