Very cool! I remember seeing a lot of these running around back in the day, and you captured the look perfectly. Well done and model on!

Very cool! I got it almost immediately.

Very original and nice! Well done and model on!

I think it would depend on the job. It might actually hurt in some cases. But in general, "Dress for the job you want, not the job you have" is pretty good advice--even for interviews.

Very clean build, very nice, and great photos! Well done and model on!

Your favorite manufacturer of 1/24 kits
Snake45 replied to Ahajmano's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
If a subject is available in both scales, I prefer the 1/25, unless the 1/24 kit is a LOT better. I'll try to think of an example. Might take me a while. -
That happens to me at least once a month, but with model tools or paint. Sometimes with magazines, too.

Reading comprehension seems to be a lost skill, Greg. Sigh. -
Doesn't food poisoning pass (no pun intended) in about 24 hours? My whole family had it once but we were all fine a day later.
-
Can you make decals? I have an unbuilt NIB kit and IF I can get my stupid scanner to work, I could scan the decals for you.
-
Agree. "Distressed" promos can often be had for (relatively) bargain prices, too.

They became the '67, then the '68, then the '69, then the modified stocker dirt tracker, which is what they are today.

Ain't it, though? You're gettin' there! GITTER DONE! -
It's a LOOOOOOG road back to stock for this one. I've given some thought to doing one as a mild custom, perhaps a factory "concept car" kinda thing.

Different and therefore interesting. Very clean build, too. Also, great photography! Well done and model on!

What Are Considered The Best 1:24 Diecast in the Market?
Snake45 replied to Slimguy's topic in Diecast Corner
I guess it all depends on your subject interest. As Gramps said, the DM and FM stuff are great, but long OOP. If they made what you want, and you can find it, they're top of the line. Interestingly, they sometimes go for very reasonable prices. I only own 3 or 4 of them but haven't paid over $25 or $30 for any of them. I don't have all the packaging and papers, but then I don't really care about that stuff. M2 seems to make a good product in their price range ($20-30, depending on where you get it). I have 5 or 6 of their things and am very pleased with them. First Gear also makes some nice stuff for a couple bucks more. The Welly name is not an automatic guarantee of good quality. They've done some outright junk. But they've also done some that punch WAY above their modest price point, especially if you can find the good ones for $10 at Rite Aid. Other brands I have that I like: Maisto, New Ray, and Burago. Some of the Johnny LIghtnings are nice too--others, not so much. Revell did some good stuff a few years ago, but doesn't anymore. Greenlight also does some good stuff. If you find something you're interested in, come here and run a search in this section--if it's good, it's possible someone here has written it up, with pictures. Or just post asking. We'll give you our honest opinions. Oh, BTW, "investing" is probably the wrong word to use with these things. You probably won't ever get your money out of any of them, much less a profit. Only buy what you LIKE, and enjoy it! -
I can relate. In fact, I think a lot of us here can relate. After all, we're still building model cars, aren't we? (And listening to Hendrix, Credence, Zep, and so forth, too...and whatnot.....)

Sweet score! Looks like you're off to a great start. I'll be watching. Drive on!
-
Shiny! Well done and model on!
-
Your roof straightening looks good, and that color's not half bad, either! Drive on, my friend!

I was aware of those, and that they weren't Z16s, so won't work for my project. I don't want to convert the rear end on this one, just build the body pretty much OOB, hence my need to do a phantom (unless there was another legit racing Z16 I don't know about yet). The more I think about it, the better I like the Jungle Jim Brutus-ish idea.

That one's also a '64.

Beautiful! One of the nicest builds of this kit I've seen. Well done or model on!
