  1. Me too. But the BIG celebration will be the NEXT day.
  2. I have a Modelhaus on order but probably won't see it before mid-2018. I'd hope another resincaster would pick this one up. Would love to see it from Motor City, which does beautiful work at reasonable prices. I hope someone picks up the Modelhaus '67 Barracuda hardtop, too. I failed to get one of those.
  3. Yup. Revell even did a 1/25 diecast of it too, which builds up well and looks pretty good.
  4. 1. Just to see if I could. 2. Fireball door handles didn't exist then.
  5. I once cut the door handles off Revell's '67 Chevelle, carved the opening out, and glued them back on. I've also opened up the handle on a few while still on the body. I think I can do it.
  6. I looked at the pics of it (and the '67) on their website, and didn't think they got the roof right. A real shame, as I'd like to do a '67 or '68 Biscayne street fighter. I'm thinking of making my own, using a Camaro roof. I saw a '67 4-door someone did that way once, and it looked pretty good to me.
  7. Maybe they're celebrating that in Europe.
  8. At 3:50 today, 3/27, please join me in a moment of respect to honor the mighty Chevy L79 engine!
  9. You could put me down for the Landy SS, AND at least a couple of stockers.
  10. Timely discussion on door handles. I bought a (fairly) cleanly built '68 Dart for one of my quickie cleanup/fixup/resto projects and it's missing both door handles, which were apparently separate parts on this kit. Great idea on sili-cloning them from something else! That's what I'll do.
  11. They don't have that anymore. Dropped it last year.
  12. I love the color! What's the paint?
  13. Looking very nice indeed! Geno, it would be easier to follow your progress on this project if you'd add new work to your previous thread instead of starting a new one with each update. Just sayin....
  14. I checked again and we're both right. The NEW dryer sheets are thicker than the tissue, but the used ones are in the same ballpark. I think this trick would work with newsprint paper, too, if that's all you had on hand.
  15. Ironically, I was just doing the laundry and seeing a dead dryer sheet on the floor made me think of posting this today. I think it's a little thicker than model airplane tissue, but it should work fine.
  16. I invented this method a couple years ago to fix the small, thin, delicate landing gear of a 1/72 airplane. It worked great and I always thought it would work well to fix bent or broken car model A-frames or window frames. Got a chance to fix a car this way last week and it worked as advertised. If you don't have any balsa model airplane tissue laying around, or don't know anyone who does, the kind of tissue used in gift packaging or sometimes for gift wrapping will work fine, as long as it's thin, flat, porous, and has a little stiffness to it (i.e., Kleenex won't work). These links show the fix in progress, and the finished result. https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/hyperscale/viewtopic.php?f=578046&t=474182&p=1839420 https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/hyperscale/viewtopic.php?f=578046&t=474278&p=1849007
  17. Don't have a scan/photo, but I just checked the sheet and it's part number 6580-8330, printed 5/87, if that helps. I don't have the kit (that issue). I don't remember where or when I got these decals.
  18. That doesn't look half-bad at all!
  19. Just since Hobby Lobby didn't have any coupon-worthy kit I wanted, I used it on a "Paasche Starter Airbrush." List price $25.99, I think I got OTD for around 16. It looks very similar to my beloved, 30-year old Badger 350, which I use for 95% of my airbrush work including virtually ALL my car work. When I got it home I read the fine print and saw that it's Made in China. I wonder if this is exactly the same thing as the Chinese Badger 350 clone I bought at a flea market a couple years ago, and only use for spraying clear (which it does quite well)? Oh well, for 16 frogs I'm not out much, and who knows, it might be a genuine Good Thing. Paasche's name is on it, which gives me some comfort. I'll write up a report after I've used it. It could be that this is the perfect "starter" airbrush for car modelers (assuming you have a compressor or other good air source--NOT those stupid dicky cans).
  20. I appreciate the offer, old friend, but trust me, this project isn't worth your trouble and the postage to do that. If we ever do another trade, then maybe, but till then, don't worry about it. Maybe someone else can put that bodyless kit to better use in the meantime.
  21. My go-to for 20+ years now has been Easy Off Heavy Duty oven cleaner. Or 91% rubbing alcohol for AMT, Model Master, and some Tamiya lacquers.
