  1. Awesome set of pictures, thank you for taking the time to do that In typical Tamiya fashion, it looks perfectly made and just ready to leap into assembly...I agree on the lovely louvres Nice stuff and congrats
  2. Great paint work there, this IS up my alley and I will follow along Great videos as well
  3. Good for you on finding her, that is a cool feeling Love to see what is in the box, most of us will probably never see a kit like that
  4. We watch the Polar Express as a Christmas Eve tradition....lovely story, great animation
  5. Oh wow, I am jealous!!!! Those are all big beautiful 1/12's, nice score !!!!
  6. Great build and love the paintwork you did. A lot of time and effort was put into this and it shows Cato's 1:1 is magnificent as well
  7. The stance is awesome!!!! Like to hear how you went about dropping her so nicely and at what build stage do you lower....ie early on or near the end scott
  8. Very nice work I am Pocher crazy, just not as experienced nor as wealthy as the old guys

  11. Wow, what a line up You have been up to something GOOD this year
  12. Wow, loving them all from rusty to shiny A good year's work
  13. Cool car and ........uhhhhh interesting back story
  14. I have a similar bug bite Rob A model looks so much more complete in a little dio of some sort. From your photo bucket, the models you are building definitely lend themselves to dioramas and yes space is a problem. That old TV set idea is good or inside a glass top coffee table Putting stuff up on the wall is a great idea....I did a little painting for a Spitfire my son and I made together so it could go on his wall
  15. I will follow along as well...want this kit from Santa
  16. It is a good thread and I really like what you wrote So many ways to skin a cat when modelling, we all have our bias views. Some want to be a scratch builder and some want to be an assembler...nothing wrong with either I find it very satisfying making parts and details myself more than aftermarket purchases...I can see a mill and lathe in the future, but not yet. Personally, I see a model kit as a starting point and take it from there with my own imagination...... especially like adding a background or at least small diorama to set the model off and tell a story Good thread topic my friend
  17. Going to throw in a couple more pics This is the inspiration photo and here we are all finished
  18. Hey thanks for the good vibes guys ? Lucas' ranch is supposed to be quite the place, that would be cool. I am the worst Star Wars Nerd ever, so would look like an idiot meeting someone like that. During research, I saw some pretty cool pictures of the model building and stop photography sets that the early movies used. The old movies have a certain charm to them that the newer overdone cgi cannot achieve IMHO. I hope this latest release isn't over the top with the cgi effects
  19. You are making some gorgeous looking vehicles.....all a little off the norm and I mean that in a very good way
  20. That is awesome Dan, loving that rig. Just have to delete the "model" lady out of the picture Were there BC plates on it???
  21. Oh good news Now just get better, the darn car will still be sitting there just as it was waiting. There is no deadline on finishing it and you are doing a right proper job, so just get better Hang in there and have a Happy Holiday season and New Years
  22. Clean and crisp, really a SWEET build. You nailed this one Now where is that Wolf F1 car?????
  23. Even a blind squirrel gets a nut every once in a while
  24. Oh yeah, sorry to borrow those tweezers, will give them right back I am not a railroader, but one of my favourite shops in Vancouver is Central Hobbies. They are full on railroading store and have so much stuff that isn't behind locked cabinets so I can go an pick through what will work The scaffolding is train bridge girder, the spotlights are oil drums and the lights are battery powered LED Christmas bulbs Making Spot lights: oil drums spun on Dremel lathe to remove seam lines, glued drum to it's sprue to act as support, bulb inserted bent and distal side painted black Pretty simple actually. This is a good time of year to find cheap battery powered LED's and you can chop em up and re-solder to your configuration
