  2. Wash the polished windshield to remove whatever residue from the polishing compound,; that is, if you used any. Then, dip the windshield in acrylic floor finish, such as Quick Shine, or Alclad Aqua Gloss Clear. When dry, the floor finish/gloss coat will fill in the scratches, making them virtually invisible.
  3. Picked up a new Olympos HP-101 airbrush to replace my 40+ year old model. Only took three days to arrive, with free delivery, from Japan.
  4. Sorry to say; but, that's way too much c_rap around those fender flares. As was stated previously, Tamiya putty is solvent-based and can unnecessarily soften the Evergreen strips and the plastic to which they're attached. It requires too much sanding which could alter the final shape of the flares and surrounding plastic. One can use Magic-Sculpt two part epoxy putty as a filler around the flares. It's available in 16 colors to suit one's needs. It's water-soluble and you can smooth it with a dampened cloth or wet fingertip to obtain the proper shape.
  5. Supercar Modeling Project website. There is mention of 3D printing, though. That means resin of some type; so, as Shark said, CA or two part epoxy would be required. Pretty expensive kits, BTW.
  6. I use Stynylrez primers. They're self-leveling and dry to a smooth finish. No sanding required.
  7. That's an excellent razor saw set. I've been using it for the last 10 years. The kerf is 0.3mm.
  8. It's a solid, not metallic color. Check out this list of Jeep CJ 1976-1986 Paint Codes. Order a 1oz. bottle of Single Stage touch up paint from paintscratch.com.
  9. Tapatalk is notorious for large amounts of popup ads. Get uBlock Origin. It's an ad content blocker. It's 100% effective in blocking popup junk .Scroll down to the bottom of the linked page to see the platforms you can install it on.
  10. I ran across this at Missing-Lynx. Beats cannibalizing other kits in the stash.
  11. Do you have an airbrush? Scale Finishes has 1962 Chevrolet Code 914 Nassau Blue Metallic and 1963 Code 914 Monaco Blue Metallic (same colors. different names) lacquer paints. Other than that, you're most likely SOL.
  12. Jeez....Maybe it's just me; but, doesn't anyone think outside of the model box and bother using Google to find an online source other than fleabay? I do. I got my Mr.Color Leveling Thinner 400ml bottles from BJ Hobby Supply a few months ago for 16 bucks each plus shipping.
  13. A hundred bucks for a decal sheet is ridiculous. I've been doing business with this eBay vendor, Police Decal Shop, for years. He has over 1,000 PD vehicle sets available. The quality is superb. Contact him if you can't find what you're looking for.
  14. I have an SMP '61 Imperial with a separate HT from the same vendor that the '62 came from.
  15. One could always use a nail gun to secure a bottle to a tabletop, bench or the perennial favorite, the kneecap.
  16. TANKRAFT sells this Glue Base Holder For Modeling Cements. Rube Goldbergesque technical knowledge not required to construct or operate.
  17. Why bother? There are literally thousands of previous releases available on ebay.
  18. I bought that kit at Jack's Hobby Shop in 1970 for $2.49. Lotta loot for a ten year old back then.
  19. Paralysis by overanalysis.
  20. Removing cured canopy glue?
  21. The only kits I'm missing are the Valiant V-200 and the Newport. What's to wonder about? If Atlantis has the molds, they'll be produced. If you noticed, the '57 Nomad box was visible in the Instagram clip. It looks like it'll be in the catalog soon. The holdup was with the kit glass. That also might be the problem with these two. Both share the same glass. I test fitted the glass from from an SMP '60 Valiant and it fit perfectly in the Revell Lancer and vice-versa. For whatever reason, H-1251, my Fury kit, has the wrong glass. It's for the V-200. Go figure.
  22. There are no "local" providers in the sense that they use any ALSA product commercially. The products are designed to be applied by the average slob with ten thumbs.
  23. Pete, you can use any clear urethane as a base coat. I got this straight from the owner of ALSA during a phone call with him.
